Well, you've read the notes, the notes had wonder and no wonder, and now it is time for you to post until the wonder-ridden cows come home.

And the word of the day is: PROSOPOPOEIA!
Smoke on you pipe and put that in.

He’s the main character in THE TEMPEST.

The obit says that Duane has appeared in many community theater productions in the Tacoma area. I don’t claim to know every actor in the Northwest, but I can’t find anyone who knew him.

Hmm...interesting. Maybe it'd just been years since he did theater.

Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well. I had a long dream involving the Noel Coward play/movie Cavalcade and its final song, "Twentieth Century Blues," which is still running through my mind.
-
My 2020 receipts are printed, sorted, and waiting to be tallied over the next four days. I've heard that too little taxes were deducted from the unemployment payments so I worry that I will end up owing money.
-
DR George, I had no idea what AR stood for. Thanks for asking.
-
We are due for a big snowfall today. I'm very happy I made the pharmacy trek yesterday.
-
And the word of the day is: PROSOPOPOEIA!
I hear voices. Do you hear voices?
-
Good morning, everyone.
-
Thanks for your recommendation, DR Jeanne. I will look into it.
-
I heard a rumor that DR George has three Boyfriends. 8)
-
Hussy!
-
More snow today - of all things.
But my arm stick is not scheduled until 2:20 p.m. - so we should be better by then.
Around noon I will also do a bit more shoveling as I anticipate that my arm may be sore tomorrow.
-
I like the Captain America and Ironman movies - mostly because I like the actors who portray the characters.
I don't like any of the others.....although when I am with certain groups of friends I hear about them endlessly.....the same on the Facebook pages of these same folks.
I also liked the Superman tv series - and Lois & Clark up to a point. Smallville had its moments as well.
-
I'm going to make my bed and lie in it for a bit.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Had power through the night. Yay, me.
-
AR is fairly common in communication here, so I’m surprised it was unknown to so many of you. Sorry. Maybe I just hang around too many AR types.
-
AR = anal retentive
For those who missed the previous explanation.

TOD 1:
Royal Wedding (Fred Astaire was a superhero who could dance on the ceiling. And he didn’t even need a cape)
-
It’s snowing/sleeting here.
-
Thursday morning greetings! We are up and almost ready to proceed downtown for our first vaccine injection. Of course, it snowed last night, but we didn't get much accumulation. Once we get out of our scary driveway, I think the roads will be OK. Just glad we don't have to go far.
-
It’s snowing/sleeting here.
Not what you need, DR John G - hang in there!
-
I took the recyclables to the basement, and stopped on the first floor to check for mail. The snow has begun, and the cars are covered. I'm glad I'm inside for the next four days.
-
Good morning!
-
Here in Northern Virginia, there's just a coating of snow but it was followed by sleet, so it's apparently very slippery out there.

I just washed my hair for the first time in days. Feel human again.
-
The ground here covered up in less than an hour. And the snow is still coming down.
-
It's snowing here...just the locals are in the office everyone else us working from.home
-
My back is much better but still sore
-
I am supposed to get an appointment at 515 today but I'm not sure I will make it
-
My back is much better
Good!
-
I just washed my hair
Can you do a thing with it?
-
Good morning, all.

NEWS FLASH --
IT'S SNOWING.
-
We are definitely supposed to get some inches. How many, I don't care to know just yet. Surprise me.
-
I just washed my hair
Can you do a thing with it?
Hot water is back. And it’s a beautiful thing.
-
I can do dishes today.

TOD
I'm not a big superhero fan. As a kid, I loved the comic books, but just the SUPERMAN family and some BATMAN. I didn't branch out.
I fondly remember the TV shows, but I haven't sought them out. I love the Richard Donner SUPERMAN films, no question. There's never been anything like them. The Tim Burton BATMAN was okay in my book back in the day, but I can actually appreciate it more now in the face of all that's come after. I saw the first of the later ones, BATMAN BEGINS. It was "interesting", but I've never returned to it.
And that's it. I'm afraid I have zero interest in everything else. I can't go near any modern day superhero movie. Not at all.

Senator Ted Cruz, arriving in Cancun, while his constituents go through hell:
-
It's a joke, of course. But not really.
-
TOD: I never liked superhero comics, television shows, or movies. I guess I'm not the entertainment industry's target demographic.
-
I sorta liked the first two Superman movies, but I had real issues with some of the plot of the first. I will also admit that I found Supergirl; with Helen Slater and Faye Dunaway a real hoot. I never cared for the Batman films but I did love the TV series because of the camp, and I liked the TV series of Lois & Clark and The Flash.

The boss sent us home because of snow
-
Only those of us who lived in town had gone in anyway
-
In fact he called each of us this morning and asked if we’d be comfortable coming in
-
I love this job
-
Good news, Vixmom.

I’m listening to Norm Lewis sing a funkadelic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It’s what you get when you ask Alexa to play some Norm Lewis. He’s now singing Schmidt and Jones’s wonderful Thank You for Your Love.

Good Morning - I have an appointment for both COVID shots! Saturday and then in March for the 2nd one. Hopefully, it will go off without a hitch. In the meantime, it's business as usual!
-
Our trip downtown was quite smooth and we have both now had our first dose of the Moderna vaccine. I’m very impressed with the Middletown health department. I’m also amazed at how many people appear never to have visited our city building before.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Yes I, too, have had my first vaccine shot and am scheduled for my next on March 19.
I feel as if I accomplished something - even though all I did was sit there.
I shoveled the new 2 inches of snow out of the driveway and off the sidewalk because I thought tomorrow I might have a sore arm.
Sunday temps predicted to be in the low 40's - so hopefully that will take care of a lot of it.
-
Everything was handled very efficiently.
I checked this morning and there were NO times left this week - and no way to get to next week on the WalMart site. So maybe they are LIMITED.
I'm sorry now that I didn't insist that my brother, his wife, and boarder sign up at WalMart. They will be getting their first and two days later, I get my second.
-

Excellent news
-
But enough of that.
I also find the new Superman/Batman, etc, not much to my liking because the history and relationships and lives of the characters in the comic books are so much different now.
And that is reflected in the movies of course. I liked my Superman and Batman the way they were......I didn't even care for the Justice League - much.....too many characters.....
Spiderman never did it for me.....then or now.....
But that's just me.
-
On the way out of WalMart, I got a bottle of wine and some Cheetos.....I'm ready for anything!
-
I only sat there, too, but - in my humble opinion - I did it very well.
-
Where is the wonder, indeed.
-
A heating pad over the injection site kept my arm from getting too stiff and sore after the first vaccine. Just passing that along.

Have you been without water or was it just too cold to get into the shower? DR Druxy reported on FB that he doesn't have water.
When we lost power in our three homes with well water we also lost our water.

My back is much better but still sore
Good. I hope it will be much better by tomorrow.

If anyone is looking for some lightweight, carefree reading, in a multi-book series format, in the Harry Potter vein (involving magic),
I can recommend The Network Series by Katie Cross, and/or The Lily Singer Adventures by Lydia Sherrer.
-
I've been reading the new Mike Nichols biography.
-
Thanks DR JOHN G - good info.
Thanks DR JANE and DR CHAS SMITH.....we are up to date in Kansas City - so to speak.
-
DR ELMORE I am considering making that book purchase.....

I just washed my hair for the first time in days. Feel human again.
I love that song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bo8u223sIFg)! ;D
What singers they had. Jerry Orbach, Joanne Worley, Angela. Very special.

I hadn’t had hot water for days. Even the cold water was limited. I haven’t taken a shower because the bathtub is still filled. I just washed my hair in the sink. Also, with the boil water advisory, they’re warning you not to get the water from the faucet in your eyes

Had California Chicken Cafe for food - breast and wing and chicken pasta salad for the side.
-
For the third time, they forgot the pita bread that's supposed to come with it, so I finally complained about it to Grubhub so they refunded 8 bucks, so that was nice.

Grubhub is, as far as I know, the ONLY delivery service that you can actually contact immediately, either by chat or phone and who are proactive about fixing issues.

I feel for you. Is the bathtub for the toilet are are you also boiling it?
-
DR John do you have enough drinking water without boiling it? Unless you have gas that is a problem when the power is out.
-
I've been reading the new Mike Nichols biography.
I plan to read that next. Such a fascinating figure. Loved the PBS special on him.
-
Well, I'm off. My mom called and asked if we could play cards tonight instead of tomorrow, and I said that that was fine, so we will tonight, and not tomorrow.
Be back later.

A heating pad, not ice? :o
Yes. A heating pad helps healing. Ice just delays the healing from beginning.
-

I have enough for now. I have a number of bottles as well as canned seltzer. I probably need to restock next week.

I haven't used it yet. But it would likely be for the toilet.

was stiff and swollen.
-
John I am glad you are well supplied.
-
I saw a photo of a bathtub filled with snow to be used for the toilets.
-
I loved the first Wonder Woman film which was directed by Patty Jenkins. She should have stuck to directing and left the writing to others in Wonder Woman 84. While I found it very disappointing I didn't hate it like Bruce did, but then I am a fan of super hero films.
-
It's strange to think about things this way, but this week has been such a battering experience that as I approach 24 hours of being with power, I'm wondering when it's going to go out. I did start that movie tonight and I've gotten an hour into it. Will I have to start it again? Maybe. Do I remember where the lighter is? And the candles? Because it's dark now and I would have to feel my way to them.
-
Oh, I know too well that feeling.
-
I keep one of these next to my bed. It is easy to find as it glows in the dark. I can also clip it to my pants loop with a carbine clip.

What I need are the larger flashlights we always kept stocked that no longer work.
-
We have one camping lantern left. I need batteries for it to find out if it works. I think we should look for a new one.
-
We had several that looked like this.

Just finished a sci-fi horror flick called High Life, which I, surprisingly, enjoyed. It wasn't about the gadgets. It was about some rather not nice people whose penal colony is a space ship far from earth.
-
They don't even make the tall style we had two of and now are down to the one I don't think works.
-
And yes, at one time we needed all those flashlights and lanterns on a somewhat regular basis.
-

Was anyone nice? I like sci-fi, not so much horror.
-
I just remembered we still have one Eveready flashlight left. I tend to forget about it as it is under the guest bathroom sink. We still need newer and better flashlights.
Any suggestions?

That was part of the intrigue of it. You had to see what your sympathies led you to and how they could be changed by developments.

I'm starting The Browning Version, which I haven't seen in quite a while. Loved it before.
-
I am exhausted from the rigors of a fairly normal day. I think I'm going to retire.
-
Good night, all.
-
This evening I got in just in time to stream the Met’s Cav/Pag from 1978. Somehow I had never seen this one, and it was an enjoyable trip back to their earliest years in telecasts. Domingo and Troyanos in Cav, Domingo, Stratas and Milnes in Pag. Stratas is who I was most interested in, as I had never seen her in this opera, and she was delightful. This was just a year before Mahagonny. The Zeffirelli production was nice, and even the orchestra was beautiful. Actually, no, I have to take that back because they pulled their crap of showing stills and storyline captions during preludes. Glad they eventually got over that.

There’s one I need to pull off the shelf.

Tomorrow night, Don Giovanni.
Whoa. Jerry Hadley’s in it.
1990. I never saw this one either.
-
Having fun seeing the social media pillorying of Cruz and Limbaugh. And well-deserved.
-
FIVE!
-
And good night, everyone.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Good night, Sing.
-
I used to love the Batman TV show. I was able to visit the set and meet the stars on one of my studio visits. That was fun.
I also enjoyed Lois and Clark. I love the idea of super powers.
-
I just washed my hair for the first time in days. Feel human again.
Yes, washing my hair is always a boost for me, even when I'm not in the midst of a weather emergency.
Vibes you continue to have water, hot water, and all else you need.
-
I only sat there, too, but - in my humble opinion - I did it very well.

I will look into these. I'm a fan of Ben Aaronovitch's RIVERS OF LONDON series about cops who use magic. The first of the series is called MIDNIGHT RIOT in US versions. The series takes place in and around London.

I'd never heard of these, but am pleased to do so! Jane, you just made a sale. (Not that Amazon needs the business.) Back east I tried to be prepared for emergencies, but here in California I admit I've gotten lax. Always good to have flashlights on hand and these little ones look great. Thanks for mentioning them.
-

You might want to check LLBean. they don't have a big selection, but what they have is good quality. So good that I once gave one of their flashlights to my handyman as a gift. He really liked it.
-
Callbacks done.
-
Glad to hear that so many DRs were able to get vaccinated.
My concern is that some people will take their vaccination as an "all clear" and behave recklessly, thus endangering the rest of us. Apparently, some vaccinated folks are immediately booking travel. Sigh.
-
Tomorrow I am booked for a very much-needed massage. That's as much travel as I'm ready for (10 minutes each way.)
-
Good night.

Warning, sometimes they don't glow as well as they should and need to be left in a bright light. The soft glow in the dark cover feel comfortable in my hands.

The obit says that Duane has appeared in many community theater productions in the Tacoma area. I don’t claim to know every actor in the Northwest, but I can’t find anyone who knew him.
Hmm...interesting. Maybe it'd just been years since he did theater.

It's raining right now, here in Tumwater.

Yes, it is supposed to rain all day on Friday, but dry on Saturday!

Yup! We used to live in Colorado (we moved here when I was 10), but I'm glad we never went back! WAY too much snow!!
