Well, you've read the notes, the notes soothed the savage beast, and now it is time for you to post until the savage cows come home.

BK, have you ever had a burger wrapped in lettuce instead of in a bun?  That's keto friendly and more places are making that an option.  I've gotten that at the local Red Robin quite a few times and it's pretty good...different, but definitely enjoyable. :)

I did that once at In 'N' Out - wasn't really for me. That said, I am going to try my tuna with just lettuce serving as the bread to see how that feels. But for at least today I have to order in because I'm stuck here.

I had a very restless night. My legs wouldn't settle down to let me sleep, and the painkillers did nothing. I turned off the lights between 9:15 and 9:30 and I was still awake when I took a bathroom break just before midnight. I fell asleep shortly after that, but I kept waking up. Thatch and Annabelle stayed with me all night, with appearances by Stella, who at one point was sleeping at the foot of the bed. She became pesky around 6:30, and I think she was reacting to the noisy garbage men outside the building.

DR TCB yes.....The Space Children featured a young actor in a leading role who later played Lawrence's lover in LAWRENCE OF ARABIA.  He is now a banker in England.

It also featured the shell of a mobile home and interiors used by Lucy & Desi in The Long, Long Trailer.

And a gigantic brain.

T.O.D.

I never cared much for Laurence Harvey.

Mia Farrow: ROSEMARY'S BABY is the only film that comes to mind.  Thought it was quite good when it first came out, but I haven't seen it for many years.

I'm pleased the announce the publication of JACK OAKIE, a one-person play, available in both paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon and elsewhere.

For those of you who are too young to remember Jack Oakie, he co-starred in many musicals during the 1930s-1940s (e.g. TIN PAN ALLEY, HELLO, FRISCO, HELLO), plus THE CALL OF THE WILD with Clark Gable...and Charlie Chaplin's revered film, THE GREAT DICTATOR.

I knew Jack Oakie back in the day, and I think I've captured his zany nature in my play.

Performance rights are available.

I’m with you. I’m okay with something room temp or cold (like salami or cheese) wrapped in lettuce, but a hot burger in lettuce is too messy.

There are many different types of GF crackers on the market now. Unfortunately, my favorite, Dr Kracker, seems to have gone out of business. I ordered several new ones, thinking they'd be fun to try while I rest up. I tried Crunchmasters (love the name) Multi-seed crackers. They're quite good; I'll order again.

Well, the news isn't horrifying and would be even less horrifying if I hadn't wasted $180 at Jiffy Lube, which is exactly what I did. It's going to come in, with the smog check, at around $430. Turns out not the alternator at all, but the coolant leaking out through a faulty hose and the heat valve broken. That was most of it.

I received the renewal for the community theater tickets for next year. I didn't ask for any refunds for all the shows that were canceled. I was just going to let that money go, since I knew they had staff to pay, etc. I was so glad that they credited the unused tickets to me.

I also have tickets for the Broadway series. I was not going to let that money go. That wouldn't have gone to the tours that had to cancel; it would have gone to the university.

There were two shootings today in San Antonio. One on an overpass, the other at the airport relatively nearby. Don’t know if they’re related but the airport was on lockdown for a while. An officer shot and killed the gunman who had way too much ammo on him. Scary stuff.

The opera scene is still the best thing about the movie with the music swelling as a series of murders take place. It's the same as Gregory Hines' tap dance in Cotton Club.

Diane Keaton is the best thing in the cast, because she's not like anyone else or everyone else, so her emotions real true and her behavior is more natural.

This edit is better. Sofia Coppola is in it a lot less, and while she still irritates, she's a little less toxic. The plot is still a bit of a mess with too many strands and not enough of it interesting enough to make you want to tie them all together. The music from Carmine Coppola and Nino Rota is superb. Some of the supporting cast is great: Eli Wallach, Donal Donnelly, Talia Shire, even George Hamilton.

Thanks for the vibes and good thoughts.

I slept well last night and got almost 8 hours. By 10:30 this morning I was falling asleep while reading. Sigh. But, it's a recovery day and recover I shall.

Continued healing vibes.

Several days ago I let two of my neighbors know that I was having surgery and asked if they could help with mail, as I would be unable to make it up or down the stairs. (Small apartment building with no elevator.) One of them brought a package up today, a box of soups and crackers.

Nice.

I'm a bit apprehensive.  I received a call from the Social Office that my arrest is imminent because of fraud on my SS account.....so I've been watching out the window for the Feds.....and my account has been suspended.
;D

I received the same warning yesterday.

There were two shootings today in San Antonio. One on an overpass, the other at the airport relatively nearby. Don’t know if they’re related but the airport was on lockdown for a while. An officer shot and killed the gunman who had way too much ammo on him. Scary stuff.

The Washington Post did their own version. Haven’t read either yet. But I will take a look.

I didn’t like the sounds of the tomato and feta recipe that went viral.

I will say everything sounds okay except the popcorn, which is the main ingredient. Popcorn shrimp are more appealing to me.

I have a friend Krista who is out of work because her mother died. I was in a meeting yesterday in which someone from another department made a snide comment about how long her vacation was. I was gobsmacked. Thankfully, someone who knew said something about letting Krista take the time she needed to handle her situation.

Gee, I was just going to lament the fact that I can’t get any answers about my refi.  They sent me these “final” forms to sign, but before I sign, I just want to answer three questions.  (1) How much is my new payment, (2) How much are my closings, and (3) when is my first payment due.
