I’ve done the burger wrapped in lettuce thing a couple of times when low-carbing. I guess it worked, I don’t really remember how well. Most of the time, though, I opted to just eat it on a plate.

The laundry is finished, but not put away yet. I ran into my 2nd floor neighbor Katy in the basement. She's a lovely lady I haven't seen in a couple of months, and we ended up talking about our cats for some time.

T.O.D.

I never cared much for Laurence Harvey.

Mia Farrow: ROSEMARY'S BABY is the only film that comes to mind.  Thought it was quite good when it first came out, but I haven't seen it for many years.

I'm pleased the announce the publication of JACK OAKIE, a one-person play, available in both paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon and elsewhere.

For those of you who are too young to remember Jack Oakie, he co-starred in many musicals during the 1930s-1940s (e.g. TIN PAN ALLEY, HELLO, FRISCO, HELLO), plus THE CALL OF THE WILD with Clark Gable...and Charlie Chaplin's revered film, THE GREAT DICTATOR.

I knew Jack Oakie back in the day, and I think I've captured his zany nature in my play.

Performance rights are available.

I’m with you. I’m okay with something room temp or cold (like salami or cheese) wrapped in lettuce, but a hot burger in lettuce is too messy.

Much as Farrow would hate it, IMO Woody Allen has showcased her talents in ways so one else has.

Was he deaf? Jules Dassin was making a comment about his hearing on the Thieves Highway DVd and I’d never heard that before.

Yes, he had a major hearing problem, but he was a great lip reader.

He must have been. He was great most of the time.

I got some great beef jerky from friends. Very peppery and rich. Problem is, it’s next to impossible to cut off a piece. I’m using my new steak knives, which are sharp enough to fell a tree, and yet they fail at this.

DR TCB yes.....The Space Children featured a young actor in a leading role who later played Lawrence's lover in LAWRENCE OF ARABIA.  He is now a banker in England.

It also featured the shell of a mobile home and interiors used by Lucy & Desi in The Long, Long Trailer.

And a gigantic brain.

And it also featured a young actor who would go onto play Chuck Connors' son in THE RIFLEMAN.  His name is Johnny Crawford.

Thanks for the vibes and good thoughts.

I slept well last night and got almost 8 hours. By 10:30 this morning I was falling asleep while reading. Sigh. But, it's a recovery day and recover I shall.
