I haven't quite awakened yet although I slept rather well. I had a peculiar dream in which my brother Macbeth and I - who seemed to be both around 12 and 70 - stayed for a few days with one of our childhood friends. In the dream his house was in a jungle of some sorts with elephants, giraffes, etc. Then someone or something was poisoning the animals; they wrinkled, shrunk, and turned black as they died, like flowers without water.

Last night I watched to film Gypsy, which I hadn't seen in years. I'm not always fond of the screenplay's changes, although I can see why a few were necessary, and I loathed Rose's narration, but I really was moved by it. I remember seeing it on its first release and admiring the desolation of that set for the train station for "Everything's Coming Up Roses" and how chilling that song is in context, but this time around I was moved by Russell, Malden, and Natalie Wood in the last scenes of the movie.

In summer 1973, when I worked box office at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, I met Faith Dane. I just loved her, and her Mazeppa is such a hoot. When I worked at The Drama Book Shop in the 1980s, she was once again suing for a piece of Gypsy and she enlisted the owner's help. She never did win her case.

The disc's special features include the cut "Together Wherever We Go" and the full-length "You'll Never Get Away From Me," and I wish they had not been cut.

My one real fear, and regret, over the cancellation of The Fantasticks this year is that I may not ever get to see Tom Jones again. Even now, it was unlikely that he’d have been able to come down for it. But one always hopes, doesn’t one.

Lovely notes.  The show was okay last night.....when Mr. Henderson got out onstage I couldn't get the briefcase open...so I didn't have my file folder.....but it got some nice laughs, etc.

And Mr. Kolenkhov was most popular with the populace particularly during the wrestling scene......

DR Laura, I just got an email from John Bell, who's in Houston with My Fair Lady. I had written him about you, and he wrote back this: I would love to meet your friend.  I think that we are in Phoenix sometime in December.  And Adam Grupper is with us as well.

So, I have two friends on the tour.

Very nice! Thanks, Elmore. I much prefer to bake something than to buy something.

Tell them not to hurry to the stage door; they are not letting you take anything inside larger than a cell phone case, so I'll have to go back to the car after the show.

Then, I came across a package of breakfast bowls made with plant-based sausage crumbles.

They use real, cage-free eggs and real cheese, but there's no actual meat.

Then, I finally decided to leave and pay for my stuff...not necessarily in that order. ;)

While I was in Costco, my sister called and asked if I could come over and help move her big compost bin out to the street for pick-up tomorrow morning.

I said that I could, but just as I arrived, her daughter was putting the bin out by herself. ::)

It turns out that my sister's boyfriend had tried to move it out by himself, but it was much too full and heavy, and he fell and the bin tipped over while trying to move it! :o

I guess he scraped his knee and was hurt a little, but he'll be fine.

My niece was able to then move the bin because a good amount of the bin was filled with rotting apples that had fallen from my sister's trees, and my niece didn't put them back into the bin.

I guess she'll do that another time...when, I don't know.

While at my sister's, I tried one of the breakfast bowls, and asked if they wanted to taste it.

They had both just eaten, so they didn't want to try it at that time, but I did, and it was pretty good.

The plant-based sausage tasted pretty good, and it also had the eggs, a cheese sauce (not enough of it, if you ask me), red and green peppers and tater tots.

It was a little soggy, so I'll have to play around with cooking times in my microwave oven, but the premise is sound. :)

Then, I came home, caught up on Facebook, and have watched a few YouTube videos.

No, but if it's good or looks like it would be good, why not try it?

DR TCB, is Buddy okay?

I think so.  He continues to drive me crazy, but other than that he is okay.
