Well, you've read the notes, the notes were scary, and now it is time for you to post until the scary cows come home.

Today, I'm going to my mom's at noon for our quasi-weekly-ish family dinner...but really lunch.  I don't remember what she was going to make.

And we're not going to play Phase 10, believe it or not.  We're going to play Scrabble, which is my mom's game.  I've probably only won one or two games ever, so I will NEVER expect to win, which is fine.

After that, I'll come home and keep the porch light turned OFF.  I don't have any Halloween candy, and no one every comes over anyway, so I'm not going to worry about it. :) I'll just watch stuff on TV or YouTube or stuff from my DVR.  I'll decide in the moment.

Last night I finished State of Terror. I liked the book, but I wasn't keen on the last two chapters. I suddenly felt I was at the end of an Agatha Christie where everything is talked out endlessly.

We also had another ghostly visitor last night. Around 8:00, I was reading with all three cats on the bed with me when Stella suddenly sat up and stared at the hallway to the apartment door. Then Thatch joined her. After a moment of intense staring into nothing, Stella jumped off the bed and ran into the hall. Sfter a short moment, Thatch followed her, jumped onto the dresser and moved to the end nearest the door, and there he sat for several minutes watching something. Five or so minutes later, both cats returned to me and Annabelle.

Tonight the family is coming over and we'll sit at the end of the driveway and meet the neighborhood kids outside. This will be the first time the whole family will be together sine the Christmas just before the pandemic hit.

Happy Halloween, everyone!  Here's a real treat for you...the new Broadway Radio Show just posted on this site is an interview with journalist/author Barry Singer all about his book EVER AFTER: Forty Years of Musical Theater and Beyond.  It's a wonderful conversation and I highly recommend the book.  The book also contains a lovely section praising the one and only Bruce Kimmel for his work producing valuable cast recordings!

HA!  DR ELMORE of course October 31 is one of the days of the year when spirits move up or down in the pecking order depending on how well they've done.....so they are certainly restless....for a few days before and after.

The other day that happens is April 30.

I think vegan mayo is delicious, not so much the cheese.  Is the butter similar to margarine?

I am guessing the egg whites were at room temperature before you began whipping them.  I wonder if the hole in your ceiling had something to do with them not coming out correctly.

I suspect Orpheus, like most foreign operettas in opera situations these days, will do the spoken dialoguie in English and the sung lyrics in French, which I think is a dumb shit idea.

Skyrock Farm (about half an hour outside the metro area) had a Halloween open house this afternoon. It is a stable and horse training facility. With the added bonus that the owner also dabbles in theater organs, and has amassed quite a collection.

There is a separate barn that houses that collection of theater pipe organs, calliopes, and a carousel. And more carnival paraphanalia than I have ever seen in one spot. There are also player pianos and you name it. A lot of the calliopes play from either rolls or perforated thin wooden slats that are strung together in stacks, and "fed" into the mechanisms.

It was all great fun. The kids in attendance were more into the horses. Also, there's a train that runs around the perimeter of the grounds.

All in all, a lovely afternoon.

Important envelope was there - could use a few more, frankly. Rehearsal was okay - too much stumbling over words and lines for my taste, and some low energy, so those were my main notes.  Doing a staged reading with script in hand is just a peculiar netherworld, but hopefully everyone will go over stuff on their own and find the energy level needed. Part of THAT problem is the nature of the play itself, but you can't really succumb to that or everything is really dreary.

So, unless we go back into lockdown, I should be pretty safe from 300 lbs.

It could have been repaired, but the parts would need to be ordered and then repaired as time allowed.

My scooter was only eight and a half years old, so no financial help until ten years had passed.

The young man who waited on me quoted me the new price, which was about $300.00 more than I expected to pay.

If it's Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go For It, it's on PBS.

Usually, I have a bag of Milky Ways for my non-trick or treaters.  But all I could find (that I like) were Nestle’s Krackel bars.

I made the vegan snowball cookies early this morning. Honestly, that vegan butter is nasty stuff.

The meringue cookies are a fail; I somehow messed up the egg whites and they wouldn't whip up.

I think vegan mayo is delicious, not so much the cheese.  Is the butter similar to margarine?

I am guessing the egg whites were at room temperature before you began whipping them.  I wonder if the hole in your ceiling had something to do with them not coming out correctly.

Are you serious?

I really like frozen Milky Ways.

My sister and niece don't like Milky Ways.  They do love Snickers, though, so when they have the big bag of Halloween candy (like now), I take the Milky Way bars that they don't want. :)

I know I'm in season one for sure and maybe season two. It might list the episodes on the imdb.
