Well, you've read the notes, the notes were cozy and warm, and now it is time for you to post until the cozy and warm cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BONZER!
-
I was just about to post a Page Six Turkey Dance and the day locked. I thought something was wrong because I had no idea that it was after midnight! Who knew? :o I certainly didn't.
-
So instead, let's have a Page One Turkey Dance!

Good morning, all!
-
I will be E&T most of the morning. I have a bit of irritating prep for this MRI which must revolve around my kitty cleanup. I refuse to leave this apartment in chaos.
-
To add to the irritation, I cannot locate in my emails the info from Lenox Hill about this morning's prep.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It’s going to be a long day.
-
I usher tonight for the Christmas lighting parade. I have to be there at 2 pm.

-
Good morning, all.
-
I was more stuffed last night than any bird ever was.
But it was all good.
-
Vibes for DR Elmore and the MRI.
-
And vibes for everyone on this Black Friday.
-
HA!
In a bit my sister and I are traveling down to the Fun Home to pick up our photos - any plants that were left - and the bag of papers that were left there.
Tonight we are going with our cousin Carol and her husband to attend a Pacers NBA basketball game.....I haven't been to one since the last century.
-
I loved typos......and one of my favorites is:
Longtime Springfield resident Mary Siddons did eat her home yesterday.
-
DR TCB it has been directed that four folks who were ONCE mentioned in the will but are now excluded by name be sent copies.....not something I am in charge of..... :-\

Ouch.
-
From DR Laura:
Wae-Ling and GS played a rousing game of STOP! GO!, which had him in stitches.
:)
I am glad you were all together.

Potential heirs still need to be notified, at least in California.
-
I just took an expired anti-nausea pill. I hope it works cuz I really don't know what the consequences will be if I can't keep the contrast drink down.
-
Friday afternoon greetings! Great fatigue has set in here. Today I will do a couple of errands downtown, but later today and all day tomorrow I will be vegged out in front of the TV watching college football.
-
One of my downtown errands is to catch up with the director of the Art Central Foundation. We had carry-out from their fundraising spaghetti dinner Tuesday night and she notified me Wednesday that I had won one of the silent auction items. I don't know what it is, but will let you know after I retrieve it.
-
I'm home at last. My appointment was at 10:30, but I booked my ride with Access-a-Ride at 8:50, giving myself plenty of leeway inm case the driver showed up, say, at 9:45 or 10:00. Well, he showed up at 8:40. Luckily, I was dressed after the enema, but I had to put on my shoes and get the walker and traveling bag. I told the driver I needed five minutes, and he told me to call when I was ready. I got to Madison and 77th just a little after 9:00, checked in, sat down and read my current traveling book.
-
At 10:45, I asked the desk if I had missed my name being called, and the nice gentleman told me my MRI was scheduled for 11:20. They always ask you to arrive in plenty of time! He told me I needed to be on another level for the MRI and very kindly escorted me to the basement and helped me get settled. I tried to call Access-a-Ride and reschedule my original request for a pickup at 11:30, but the phone had np reception in the basement. I finished the MRI at 12:30 and found on my phone that my ride had shown up at 11:47.
-
I took a taxi home.
-
File under: You Can't Win.
Oy.
Glad you got the MRI done!

Well, here we are again after nearly two years: another op'nin'.
I just dunno about the op'nin' falling on Thanksgiving/Black Friday weekend. I hope I'm wrong, but to my knowledge, it's one of those few times that many people have their plans made far in advance, and this weekend's house might suffer a little for it. But any audience will be a good audience, since this venue doesn't do a preview to limber the cast up. It's time to get out there and just...do it.

I am not surprised. Relax well and enjoy your games.

I didn't throw up and they permitted me to use the bathroom after drinking 32 onces of liquid. I wasn't sure if that would be allowed. The yucky sweet drink was tolerable and I had 1.5 hours to drink it. I am sure I would have been rather nauseated if I hadn't taken the anti-nausea pill.
-
Unexpected was the iodine contract by IV. No reaction so that was good. Odd is how it feels. First my insides, mostly by stomach, became very warm. Then is kind of feels like you peed if though it is just the sensation of warmth.

Well, I feel informed: I now know when Hanukka begins this year.
I thought I'd recommend this wonderful album I worked on (Track 5)!

Opening night vibes for DR CHAS SMITH & CO!
-
We shall be on our way in a bit for the basset ball meet.
I am sure it will be entertaining. I am not sure what is the appropriate attire - so I just put on the first shirt and pants that were hanging in the closet.
And I hope I am not on the Jumbo Tron at any particular time.
-
DR GINNY I hope you won the CAR!
-
We are home.
-
~~~VIBES, VIBES, VIBES~~~ to all!
-
It's Black Friday, but I didn't go near one store, physically or online.
-
And I'm happy about it.
-
DR GINNY I hope you won the CAR!
Not quite, DR JRand, but it’s a nice Christmas basket with some ground coffee from one of our local shops, some chocolate biscotti, 2 mugs, and 2 dessert plates.
-
We had a nice trip, and a nice celebration at the assisted care facility.
-
I just read that Stephen Sondheim passed off this earthly coil today at his home in Connecticut. He was 91.
DR VIXMOM I just read the same thing!
Break-a-leg vibes to ChasSmith!
Must check about Sondheim. Very unexpected.
A friend of mine who now lives back east texted me. I had no idea. :(
-
He may have been 91, but it was too soon!!
-
Now, I'm off to try and get a Covid booster shot. Let's see I I'm successful.
-
I have my original vaccination record card, so that can be updated, copied and laminated.
-
Vibes for DR JANE.
Thank you.
-
I am nervous waiting for the test results.
It sounds nice. Did you take a photo?
-
If I'm successful in getting the booster, I'll get something to eat, then go to my mom's for our regular card playing. When I get home, I'll probably watch the Company documentary again.
Don't laminate in case there are additional boosters needed.
The Moderna has been recommended.
-
I agree about Moderna.
-
I know people who are getting Moderna as their booster even though they previously had Pfizer.
-
Don't laminate in case there are additional boosters needed.
The original isn't laminated. What happened the first time was that Office Depot for free would make a copy of the card and laminate that. I plan on doing that again.
I would volunteer to post it if I knew how.
The free part was for a limited time last year, so I'll probably have to pay this time, but it won't cost very much.
-
Your booster should be free. Oh, you mean the card :)
Good idea if it is only a copy of the card.
This felt like the right place to check in for thoughts about Sondheim.
-
I thought bk's FB post was wonderful.
I thought bk's FB post was wonderful.
Agreed!
I thought bk's FB post was wonderful.
I did too.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to the theater for an opening night and after party - won't stay long there as I suspect the notes for tomorrow will be very long.
-
Have fun.
-
'night
-
Good night, friends.
-
My sister texted me the news just as I was starting to usher.
-
So, I had to put on a happy face for a few hours while the 27 floats in the parade went past and came back around again.
-
I doubt I will work this event again. It was not well organized.
-
But the parade floats were beautiful.
-
Those were beautiful words, indeed, BK. Thank you for sharing them.
-
I was always dreading this day. :(
-
I was always dreading this day. :(
Yup. Me, too.
I can't remember what the first Sondheim song I ever heard was. It was probably something from West Side Story, or maybe Ethel singing "Ev'rything's Coming Up Roses" on a Lucy Show rerun. I grew up loving Comedy Tonight because of A Funny Thing ... and because King's Island amusement park used it as their jingle.
Yet when I first heard A Weekend in the Country and the rest of A Little Night Music, something changed. It wasn't like anything else I'd ever heard. Fantastic waltzes, hilarious or poignant lyrics. I suddenly wanted to read The Red and the Black, hear the Bartered Bride, learn more about tiny Titians, all to get a better feeling of the time period. I think I was 12 years old at the time, the same age that BK mentioned he was. I learned what perpetual anticipation and liaisons were (and how to spell them).
The ripples spread from there. Soon I was watching Bergman movies, and Smiles of a Summer's Night remains a favorite to this day. More than that, I learned Company and Follies, the rest of his songs and writings.
And I learned a lot about many other things, too many to mention here.
-
It is a very sad day for theater and music and lovers of both.
I very much loved Bruce's post on Facebook.
I had a decent Thanksgiving even though it followed by one week the death of my Aunt Doris. For the past three years, since my mother's death, I have been helping my aunt by taking her to her doctor's appointments and shopping for her when I shop for myself. Others have been helping, too. She has a daughter -- my cousin Debra -- who lives 12 miles away. I am across the street. She has two sons who also supported her and my uncle.
It was my aunt's family with whom I took Thanksgiving dinner, and it was as festive as it had any right to be. My uncle was brought over. He is rather frail, cannot drive or get around without assistance. He does not want to live anywhere but in his house, so the family is relying on 24/7 help in three daily shifts. This has only been going on since Tuesday, and there have been a couple of glitches, but we shall see what we shall see.
All of that said, I miss my aunt. She had turned 90 in October. But she has been ready to go for several years and has said has much. She kept daily journals which were found and read during the days between her death and her memorial service. She has made it clear she wants no sadness because she believes she needed to move on.
Sorry to be such a downer here at the end of a day, but as it's a sad ending to the day with the news of Sondheim, I think you will probably forgive me for it.
-
It was nice to see you here, Ron. Sorry for your loss.
-
Good night, all.
My sister and I had watched Forum on TV when growing up and as kids, we loved the physical comedy. I never knew anything about Sondheim during that time, but I (re?)discovered his music first through A Little Night Music, too.
-
I also remember hearing someone (Bernadette?) sing "Some People" on one of the Tony Awards broadcasts when I was in high school and loved the song! I was able to look it up by searching the lyrics (long before the Internet) and found that it was from Gypsy. I still didn't pay attention to they lyricist, but eventually discovered that someone named Stephen Sondheim had written all three and more, and my love of his scores and shows was cemented. I've been a super fan ever since. :)
-
Then I discovered our very own Bruce Kimmel and the recordings that he made over the years and truly became an absolute die-hard musical theater fan.
Glad to see Ron posting here and hope he'll continue - we've missed him.
Back from the play. Let me just say: Farce is hard.
-
Oh, what a shock about Mr. Sondheim.
-
A long life, to be sure, but it doesn’t change my sadness.
-
We had a shooting today at the Tacoma Mall.
-
The shooting occurred in the Food Court.
-
The Food Court was jammed with Black Friday shoppers. One person was taken to the hospital.
-
No word on the victim’s condition.
-
Page five!
-
We had a shooting today at the Tacoma Mall.
Oh, my goodness! :o
-
Two days ago, we had two people shot outside the JC Penney store at the South Center Mall.
-
That Mall is near the Sea-Tac Airport in Tukwila.
-
Ironically, I once managed shoe stores in those two malls.
-
In those days, we didn’t have people shot in the malls.
-
However, we did have shoe store managers who got their jaws broken for not giving a customer a refund.
-
I have my original vaccination record card, so that can be updated, copied and laminated.
They say you shouldn’t get your vac record laminated.
-
Thank you, Bruce, for that lovely tribute to Stephen.
Yup...the copy is then laminated, not the original.
-
I went to Costco today to see if they were giving walk-up booster shots and they weren't. You need to schedule an appointment. The earliest was December 6.
-
My sister's boyfriend said that someone he knows said that Safeway might still be allowing walk-up for booster shots. I'll have to check that out.
-
I first heard Sondheim’s work in WEST SIDE STORY. I loved the music and the lyrics, but in my mine it was all Leonard Bernstein. I was probably eight or nine.
-
My world changed when I heard COMPANY. I couldn’t get over that show. I still laugh to remember I turned down the role of Bobby, because I wanted to do SWEET CHARITY.😝
-
I went to Costco today to see if they were giving walk-up booster shots and they weren't. You need to schedule an appointment. The earliest was December 6.
You can go to the websites for RiteAid and I believe Walgreens, and see how soon you can get in for the booster.
I’m still not well, and now I am also very sad.
