Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in review, part two, and now it is time for you to post until the part two cows come home.

I've always liked Amanda McBroom.  And I really like her CD, "Heartbeats," even though I haven't listened to it in quite a few years.

Topic of the Day:

On Christmas Eve, the family goes to my mom's house and we open gifts.  This year, we're really only getting my mom stuff.  The rest of us can (and do) pretty much get whatever we want, so it'll be a lot easier.  I'm getting my mom a gift card/certificate to a local Chinese restaurant that she really likes. :)

Christmas Day, we go to my sister's house and just eat and play cards or Scrabble.

New Year's Eve hasn't been decided yet.  We each may stay home.

New Year's Day will probably be back at my mom's for food and games.

When a brother
Leaves his sister
For another.
Sister weeps.
Tears that trickle.
Tears that blister—
'Tis but mickle
Sister reaps!

This has been a terrible morning. The new tea cart fell apart after I put too much pressure on the handle. Two spilled dishes of dried cat food now litter the floor. The computer is acting up - I need a new one and cannto afford it.

I have no plans for today, absolutely none, and that applies to the days up to January 2. It's going to be a rather pathetic Christmas since I have no money, and the less activity I do, the less money I will spend. I can't say I am very happy with my life at the moment.

DR singdaw, that photo you posted last night is my worst nightmare. Every day I see a cat I would love to add to my menagerie, but I remember that I can barely carry three dishes of cat food without the tea cart, cartons of litter cost money and the more cats, the more drequent purchases, and my bed is already too full with three cats and me.

I had a very busy Zoom day yesterday...two chats that went from 1 to 5:15 p.m.   Lots of discussion about film music, with some deviations about COVID-19/Omicron, and movies, including the 4K version of "The Red Shoes" (which I have yet to see).

Today is the 20th of December, and the countdown to Christmas has begun.  For me, that means that places I am used to frequenting for lunch or dinner will not only be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day, but will be closed all the days in between.   Yes, that's the plan for this year, everyone shutting down for a nice long holiday week.

Ah, well.  Thank goodness I can cook.

I have no plans for the coming week except MORE estate stuff.....someone did something I asked her not to do....so there you are.

I asked my sister NOT to send my aunt the appraisal list.  They finally called her on the phone yesterday and were telling her about the few things they wanted.....but she sent the appraisal so now they have a shopping list and price list and we haven't heard from them since....I am sure they are checking things off like mad...

My sister is leaving Saturday for a visit with her daughter in Maryland so she wants to get everyone - ALL 24 heirs - through the house before then.  But it ain't gonna happen.  And I can't say anything that she doesn't say NO to....or know a better way.

So I'm not going to talk anymore.  She knows so much she can do it her way......but it ain't gonna get done this week, thank you very much.

I am sorry.  Yes, it should be about sentimental decisions, not price.  So many heirs having the option to take something.  Is there a limit to what they can take?  I doubt those at the bottom of the list will get much, if anything.  Where do you fit in the queue?  I hope you get something of sentimental value.

As I suspected last night - dead battery - charged now and running for ten more minutes and we'll hope for the best from there. It's worked properly for five days and I drove a LOT yesterday and it locked perfectly each time. Until I got home last night, then it didn't. I got it to beep but that doesn't work after it hasn't done it properly. Very irritating. Send vibes and xylophones that there are no more issues this week - but this is why I didn't really want to do any long drives like the one I'm about to do.

My neighbor sent over last night a big container of her inedible chicken soup. About an hour later she called and told me to look out for any bones. Luckily, I had thew sausage roll from Ann and Jen for dinner, but now I'm trying to decide how to throw this soup out. I 'd throw it down the toilet if I knew there were no bones, and I really do not want to go on an archeological dig into it.

We have a Shell station here in Johnston.  Not the only gas station, no.  We have five or six, but I have used Shell for years.  Thing is, I went there a week and half ago to fill up my car and they were OUT of Regular.  They said they were expecting a delivery any day.

I drove by this morning and now they are out of ALL gas.   Still open, of course, but none of the pumps are functional.  I called and they said they are STILL awaiting a delivery.

I filled up at a BP station.

I searched my Direct-TV guide and found that NO ONE is showing "Holiday Inn" this season.

What?

I can pay to see it, of course.   I have it on Blu-ray...but the point is, why isn't it being shown?

Could it be because Crosby does a black-face number?  Or because of the maid and her two children?

Re the West Side Story sequel, called Maria - it sounds like an absolutely bogus PR grab by two nobodies who either work for or with the Long Wharf Theater or not. Never heard of either, and they haven't even started writing it - why on Earth would the estate of Arthur Laurents even consider such a dopey thing.

I am quite stuffed from lunch. Yes, it's the first time Bruce and I have seen each other since Covid started -- and also my first meal out. We ate at Louise's, a nice Italian bistro that, fortunately, hasn't changed. They did put two small tables on the sidewalk and we sat at one of them. The sun kept peeking between the clouds and warmed us up. Lunch was good and Bruce is never at a loss for conversation about movies.

Oh, my goodness!

My guess is they haven't and wouldn't and we'll never hear another peep about it..

I was thinking it would be about Anybodys and the journey to transhood.

That, at least, could be an interesting take.

I'm glad you were able to see the acupuncturist and hope he can clear up the problem. Your comments the other evening about waiting two hours to see the doctor and then she didn't have much to say -- well, that just echos so many of my experiences. Acupuncture can help with so many things -- it's truly holistic -- and a good choice, I think.

Or she ges to prison for participating in the killing of Bernardo and comes out a tough hardboiled dyke. Then she ends up running a lesbian bar and she ends up with Maria in the Village. They participate in the Stonewall riot.

The soup was considered inedible before the warning about bones? I take it you've had this one before?  :)

DR JANE if someone wants something on the appraisal list, they can pay the amount [everything is priced very low] - if it's not on the list South America Take It Away.

I imagine there will be plenty of stuff.  After the eight of us, there are only two more - and three girls who I doubt will even stop by....
