Well, you've read the notes, the notes got there, and now it is time for you to post until the getting there cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: NASCENT!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I really haven't a thing to report.
-
Maybe later?
-
Good morning, friends.

~~~VIBES OF EVERY SORT~~~ for DR elmore3003!!!!!
-
In grade school I remember having to write a report on my family's heritage. It included drawing a country map. I looked at my choices - England and Ireland - and chose Ireland, on the basis that it looked easier to draw.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Some Friday vibes are in order for us all.
-
Around 7:30 I went back to bed and lay down with Stella and Annabelle. Around 8:15 I started moving again. I hate this time change.
-
DR Laura, I wanted to see Tootsie since I had a couple of friends in the cast. Joshie and I talked about going and then the pandemic happened.
-
I got up rather late-ish this morning...it was 8:57 a.m. I had gone to bed at 11:30 p.m. I looked out the window and saw the early morning shadows as the sun was rising in the east...and it looked more 7-ish a.m. than 9-ish a.m.
That, of course, will change with the nascent approach of summer.
-
I sometimes feel this way:
-
Don't ask me why...I never truly know. :-\
-
Good morning, all.
-
Not much to say here, yet, either.
Except that it is Friday, and I nothing in the TOD today!
I wonder how many of you have different ways of coping with loss.
There are times when I suddenly miss my mom and dad. And I only recently lost my maternal aunt and uncle.
I have, over the years, lost my best friend, my college roommate and colleagues with whom I worked and learned.
There are always twinges of sadness, and sometimes there are a few tears.
But the most overwhelming feeling is of sadness that I no longer have them to turn to and cherish.
-
I didn't write that previous post to bring anyone down.
I wonder, though, what mechanisms some of you might use when sadness comes along.
-
Another kitty post to brighten your day:
I miss going to movies and theater. I really want to see Belfast.
It’s on DVD now. A copy is waiting for me at the library.
-
DR ELMORE that looks interesting.
-
DR RON PULLIAM I usually watch a movie or listen to some music - or spend a few minutes thinking of a nice memory of the person or people.
You can also talk to them out loud if you like.....just express your feelings. It helps.....
Is someone who is flabbergasted the flabbergastee?
-
Would that what causes the flabbergastation be the flabbergastor?
-
I shall not discuss the frustration of yesterday that puts us behind in our executorial duties.
-
Nice picture in the notes, and I forgot to mention I liked that other group photo in the notes that was posted earlier this week.
Thanks, Jrand!
This day started so very brightly, but clouds have covered the sky this afternoon and more rain storms are in our future, likely tonight.
-
My cousin Butch and his fiancee, Sharon, have invited me to join them at the club this evening for their oyster roast. I am going ONLY because a limited menu of other, more edible, items are available. I am not a fan of oysters, as a rule, although a nice fried oyster on a plate of other fried seafoods is welcome.
-
I shall not discuss the frustration of yesterday that puts us behind in our executorial duties.
But...but...how will we know who to curse and spit upon if we don't know the particulars?
-
The flabbergasted flibbertigibbet. The name of my next novel.
I am certain we will all be flabbertiflitillated when this happens.
-
Thanks, Jack, for your thoughts on the question I posed on page 1.
It's usually during a quiet moment when those ghosts intrude.
Music or TV usually chases them out of mind.
A Peanuts strip published on my 4th birthday!
From John:
I mentioned Mom’s cream cheese and olive sandwiches the other day. Here’s the recipe:
https://www.southernliving.com/food/appetizers/cream-cheese-and-olive-spread
On days in elementary school that I had chopped olive/mayo sandwiches and my friend had olive/cream cheese we would trade half our sandwiches for variety.
I didn't write that previous post to bring anyone down.
It didn't bring me down. As for coping, I embrace my memories, go for a walk if possible, and wait for the pain to pass.
-
I stayed home from the gym today to put my energy into being productive at home.
-
One of the things I did was check if my neighbor was planning a future trip to the mall & See's candy. Perfect timing as she was going today, and is on her way home with my order :)
-
Our boss took is out for lunch today. That was nice of her.
-
One of the things I did was check if my neighbor was planning a future trip to the mall & See's candy. Perfect timing as she was going today, and is on her way home with my order :)
I used to love going to See's.
I would order from Amazon, but the prices are a bit outrageous.
-
It is, essentially, time I was leaving to meet Butch and Sharon for dinner.
I was going to stop by the gas station, but it's raining dogs (not a cat in sight), and there is no longer a protective awning over the tanks at my local Shell.
Oh, well.
-
Jane and Ron (and anyone else interested), do either of you go to Costco? If you don't know about this, my local Costco (and yours too, I'm sure) sells See's gift cards for $40, but they're $50 in value...a 20% discount. Even if you buy See's once, it's a great deal because the cards never expire. :D
I got my Covid test back. I think I'm pregnant?
-
Joking. On both fronts.
-
Good afternoon/evening!
-
I loved "Belfast."
-
Page 3!
-
DR Laura-- I saw "Tootsie" in October 2019. I enjoyed it, especially Santino Fontana in the "title" role but can't remember any other details.
-
My Costco does not have See's gift cards, probably because there are no stores around here. There used to be a kiosk at one of the area airports but I haven't seen it in years. My friends in California love it.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep - was up at noon, but phone call after phone call, soundtrack dealer and making Wacky Noodles followed.
Order from the See's website. (https://www.sees.com/) I am sure the candy is also fresh.
Thanks for the suggestion. I thought the gift cards were for pound boxes of chocolate which I rarely buy. I wonder if there is a code so I can use the card over the phone.
-
Back from dinner.
I had blackened salmon and rice. Sharon had dry ranch chicken wings, and Butch had peel and eat shrimp.
Folks who ate oysters had buckets brought to their table and the oysters were in their shells.
-
Time to settle in for the evening/night.
Friday is my "Ancient Aliens" night. Yes, I love the show.
I sometimes feel like an ancient alien living here in South Carolina, miles and miles away from amusements.
-
George, I have seen the CostCo gift cards for See's in the California store I used to frequent, but you'd need See's Candy shops in order to use the cards.
We don't have any locally, so it's mail order or bust.
-
I just looked the cards up and it says they are redeemable in stores and online.
-
Salmon sounds good - but I have to finish the dog hots I made for lunch.
-
Ah! Well now I know what to put on my Christmas and birthday lists...if folks can find the cards somewhere.
I had two hot dogs for lunch.
Here's the link to the auction up at last......everything has to be picked up NOTHING IS SHIPPED, but everything seems to at a very LOW cost to begin with.
If you have some time to look at 400 or so pictures of STUFF or just want to browse for awhile.
Well anyway - we found out yesterday that the attorney who was supposed to put the "legal" ad in the local paper about anyone who wants to file a claim for a debt against the estate back in December - somehow failed to follow up and the "legal" ad will not be in until next week......so the 90 day window for crackpots and idiots instead of being passed - is just beginning.
He thought it was in even though they never sent him a bill....it's just an irritation....and a delay.....
I am not sure I am comfortable sending a first payout to the 24 heirs until we know that no one from the past is going to make a claim of something or the other. I don't know.....
I ordered some online and used the gift card without any trouble. Of course, that was several years ago, but I'd assume things haven't changed.
Yikes! I would think you'd want to wait because you just never know who could have a legitimate claim. :-\
-
Good afternoon.
-
I have tickets to see Tootsie this weekend; our local critic gave it an F-.
He never likes anything at Gammage, though. Their sound system is abysmal, which is probably part of the problem.
-
Today I took Wae-Ling and my Birding Buddy to the arboretum. A good time was had by all.
I walked with my Birding Buddy, who is now 80 and uses a walker. We set Wae-Ling free to explore on her own.
-
Wae-Ling graduates from high school in a couple of months, and she has her driver's license now. Ya'll have watched her grow up through my posts all these years.
Did your attorney advise you to wait? It seems reasonable to do so.
I have shown up to usher one last time for Hairspray. Looks like a sellout. They’ve added two rows of chairs at the back.
DR Jrand in MHO you have been moving along at a very good pace.
Hello, everyone.
-
Today I had my post-op. All looked well. I had my favorite nurse, who is far more knowledgable than some of the others. The surgeon was in an emergency surgery, but the nurse was able to answer all my questions. I stopped at Julie Goes Green on the way home and treated myself to her delicious vegan fettuccine alfredo. I couldn't figure out why she looked different. Then it dawned on me: no mask! I've been going there for almost two years now and had never seen her whole face!
-
Ron, I woke up this morning grieving over the loss of my wonderful neighbor in Alexandria, VA. She has since passed away, like so many of my friends. I don't really have a solution to these losses.
-
Vibes to all who are grieving.
Great news and ;D. I expect you still wore your mask.
Indeed, and I think we are all grateful for having had you provide that opportunity.
Tonight I picked up my best friend from high school at the airport (in from Washington state) and delivered her to her B&B.
The four college roommates are reuniting this weekend; one of the four has terminal cancer and is having a farewell celebration for which all kinds of people are flying in to gather. It is a wonderful thing, but also a bit uneasy. How many people know in advance, make plans, and face it head on? Lots of mixed emotions, I'm sure. I have to be flexible, but am hoping for a bit of time with my friend over the next few days. But I'll have to be flexible.
I wouldn't think that you'd have to use the whole amount at one time. It has numbers on the back like a credit card and as long as there's a balance to use, you should be able to use it over multiple orders.
We're at five-to-places for our last Friday performance.
-
We close on Sunday.
-
Then we strike the set and everything else.
-
Fortunately, their storage is right behind the theater, so it'll all ne very easy.
-
And the set is literally just a few furniture pieces and a back wall made of flats.
-
A crowd of 600+ at the show tonight. And they were ready to be entertained. Really a lot of fun.
-
A crowd of 600+ at the show tonight. And they were ready to be entertained. Really a lot of fun.
Nice!
-
And we're at intermission.
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!
-
Tonight, there are a couple of ASL interpreters signing for the show.
-
One of the actresses has deaf parents, so she wanted to make them feel included.
-
I think I heard that her parents had never seen her act before, so if I'm remembering that correctly, that pretty cool that they're here tonight.
-
It's a good audience tonight too, so that makes it more enjoyable for everyone. :)
-
I know. Until the house is out of probate (meaning no claims have been made and its ownership is legalized), NOBODY GETS NOTHING because it hasn't been settled yet.
Do not yield on this. When you know EXACTLY how much money you have to actually portion out to the heirs, they get nothing.
-
That is my story, and I'm stickin' to it!
-
My sympathies, Jeanne.
-
Back to You Can't Have Everything. Tip, Tap and Toe are performing. Wonderful stuff. Best thing about the movie so far.
-
And here is their dance: https://youtu.be/EUSd1q_BgFY
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
With my viewing I'm finished.
-
Not necessarily in that order.
-
Listening to music now.
-
Starting a weird version of Tale of Two Cities. Dirk Bogarde is Sidney Carlton in a one-hour TV version. The story makes little sense because it's just too condensed. And the video quality is poor.
-
I think I've had enough for the evening.
-
Good night, all.
-
And here is their dance: https://youtu.be/EUSd1q_BgFY
That's great!
And we're done! A not large, but appreciative audience.
-
Now, to home.
