This took me a good 40 minutes to figure out.
I love much of Berg's music, including the violin concerto, but the two (or however many he wrote) Schoenberg concertos are barely listenable to these ears. Granted, it's been years since I tried, but I do not feel compelled to spend more effort on them. I shall admire their composition from afar, and that shall be that. I do love some other Schoenberg pieces very much, no question, but -- this is how far back it goes -- I still have scar tissue from sitting through the piano concerto in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion back in the 1970s. I don't even remember if it was Levine guest-conducting, or Mehta, or who the pianist was. Oy!
Confession o' the Day:
I have never seen Once Upon a Time in America.
This, of course, is something that must, and eventually shall, be rectified.
Okay, Jeanne: It was the generic use. I do have a refrigerator.
And for you and Jane: Most of the older stuff was in jars and pushed back. I threw a lot of it out because it wasn't anything I would have ever eaten to begin with, but I think it was mostly still edible.

But there will be a quiz.
Jeanne, you are a little further along in The Book Woman's Daughter than I am. I'm only up to chapter 11.
I'm enjoying the story as well as the mention of other things of the time period, such as Singin' in the Rain being at the movies. It's also fun hearing Barbara Pym's Excellent Women being mentioned right after having finished a biography of her.
He was told to expect a letter in. A couple of weeks giving a date for the swearing in ceremony
~~~Some Very Strong Most Excellent Vibes and Xylophones for BK!!~~~
Busy morning here: My yard men came to trim the hedges, etc., and my mowing man came after and mowed the yard.
House looks really nice right now.
It nearly gave me a fit, too, given the two letters I had in place correctly, but my brain finally let me figure it out!
In 1970, I was a grad assistant in the Miami University Theatre Dept. Of the four grad assistants at the time, two are now dead. The third, my friend Joe, has been someone I've been trying to locate for the past 22 years sicne I got a computer. On Sunday night, I was talking to his ex-wife who lives in Boise, Idaho now. She mentioned that Joe might still be living in Austin. Werll, he is, and I found him on Facebook. We've been passing emails back and forth today. In 1970, we were going rto write a Gilbert & Sullivan opera together, something about a Mexican revolution and a taco vendor. It was sure to be a hit.
A rare candid shot of DR ChasSmith from last summer's outdoor production. Still waiting for his cue.
Back from NYC. I saw "Company," "Mr. Saturday Night," "The Music Man," and "Plaza Suite," I would have rather seen "Into the Woods" than "Plaza Suite" but it was impossible to find a ticket. I'm glad you enjoyed it, DR vixmom!
Sounds like a fun trip. What were the favorites of the shows you saw?
Don't know what I want for dinner.
I had a hot dog starvation attack, and threw two natural casing Sabretts on the grill. They were what the doctor ordered.
Mmmmmm, left over ham,
I think it was Dorothy Parker who said eternity was two people and a ham.
Waiting for Southwest to call me back so I can book tickets to Louisville.
I'm now trying some dairy-free, coconut milk ice noncream. It's pistachio.
The symphony board just canceled the season. I wish they would just resign.
I have some insurance and banking to do myself.
This afternoon, my brother Mike is driving my sister Paula my cousin Lita and myself to the viewing for our Aunt Mary.
Even worse, he and several fellow doctors tried them, and not liked the effect. Also, they cause a very painful headache right between your eyes. He doubts they will even be on the market in a couple of years.
I have totally lost track of the days of the week. I almost asked you how MAMMA MIA went this evening.
I am seeing the plastic surgeon on June 9 about having my eyes done.
My pressures are doing really well. 15 in both eyes.
It went quite well...in my mind! ;)
BTW, are any of Sky’s friends shirtless?
Should any of them been shirtless?
So, I will be sleeping in tomorrow morning.
I don’t think I have had my hair this long since the Sixties!
Those would be from 2010 to 2019. LOL! 🤣
