Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of lame movie titles, and now it is time for you to post until today's cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: VERDANT!
-
As in green for GO, as in the color of MONEY.
-
Vixdad drove to the hospital Friday morning for pre surgical testing and clearance for carpal tunnel surgery, became dizzy and blood pressure dropped, and after a series of twists and turns over the past 48 hours is currently in ICU, intubated and sedated…..
Please vibes and prayers urgently requested

Thanks for telling us, DR vixmom.
~~UTMOST URGENT PRAYERS FOR VIXDAD, DH OF DR VIXMOM~~~
-
And good morning, friends.
-
DR vixmom, was he driving when this happened, or already at the hospital?
-
Biggest most excellent vibes and xylophones for beloved vixdad
-
Good morning, all!
-
OMG, DR cvixmom! What scary news. Sending prayers and good wishes for Steve's erecovery.
-
DR TCB, I meant SERPICO, I used to have a mind that worked better than it does now.
-
I slept very well last night, watched over my the ever-faithful Annabelle. I have a vaguie memory that at one point Stella came to cuddle, but it's vague now.
-
I did have a strange dream involving Christmas, a bakery, an elevator, the Barnes & Noble store where I once worked, and a banana.
-
I think that today I will watched the Romola Garai-Jonny Lee Miller production of Emma, which incidentally was the name of my paternal grandmother.
-
Good morning, all.
-
OMG, DR vixmom, what shocking news. Huge vibes and prayers on the way.
Please keep us up to date on his progress!

Remain calm, everyone.
Sometimes a banana is just a banana.
-
Good morning to all.
-
I happen to love the name Emma. That was the name of my paternal great aunt, who I knew briefly prior to her death when I was ten years old. They were a New York branch and are buried in Poughkeepsie. She and her immediate family are among the more fascinating (to me) in my family history. The only other Emma I have known personally was a very talented actor in a high school production of Barnum I played several years ago.
-
Amazing vibes for a quick recovery for Vixdad.

Good morning, all.

Prayers and vibes for Vixdad!
-
I have a great-great-niece named Emma. She’s an identical twin.
-
Had a lousy night of sleep. Reading 10 pages of Elizabeth and Her German Garden did not help much.
-
Good morning!
-
Lots of vibes for vixdad.

More than 11 hours of sleep last night.
I feel really good, but what the heck!!!

I have my weekly Zoom chat to look forward to beginning at 12:20 p.m.
I hope time flies with fun discussions.

Hello, "1" guest.
-
Yesterday afternoon, I "attempted" to watch a 1972 version of "Emma", starring Doran Godwin, John Carson, Donald Eccles. A surprise was Mollie Sugden as Mrs. Goddard. I have never seen her in anything other than "Are You Being Served" as Mrs. Slocombe.
That said, it seems tedious to me. Too many drawn-out scenes in singular rooms or locations. Rather typical of the time, I fear, when drawing room comedies lacked much humor.
If anyone here admires/loves it, I apologize.
-
Super vibes for VIXDAD.
-
Surgery vibes for tomorrow for DR singdaw's brother in law.
-
Pulled Pork is the name of the first volume of my theatrical memwaas.
-
Yard work today.
-
Sunday morning greetings! I have been knitting like crazy lately and have not done much screen-wise except watch all 4 seasons of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and both seasons of "The Morning Show."

Today’s high is only 99. Tomorrow brings five days above 100.

My dance instructor is without AC at her house.

DR Singdaw,
SURGERY VIBES FOR YOUR BROTHER IN-LAW!
-
DR George I had not read that the avian flu had reached Washington.
Vibes the chickens don't get it.
-
From George:
We tried putting netting over the chicken coop and other chicken-related structures and small trees to keep other birds from getting too close to the chickens, but it all was much too cumbersome and just didn't work.
I am sorry.
-
George:
I was there for four hours, we essentially got nothing done, and I was beat!
You have had a rather discouraging weekend.

OMG, of course you have them.
MOST URGENT MEGA VIBES AND PRAYERS FOR VIXDAD!

DR RonPulliam, I've watched the first disc of the Garai-Miller version of Emma. I like so much about it, but this time around, I'm spending too much time wondering why Emma opens the door; where are the servants? She would have had a ladies' maid, a housemaid, cook, and perhaps a butler at the very least. And Knightley, who's estate holds the lands leaszed to several farmers and a house full of servants, seems to be there alone.
After Mrs Weston's marriage, againg Miss Bates wheels her mother over a half a mile or more in a wheelchair, over lawns and unpaved roads, to the village. If that wheelchair got stuck in a rut or overturned, those two women would be in serious trouble. One of their friends, Mr Weston, Mr Woodhouse, or Mr Knightley - allthough he missed the wedding - would have ordered a carriage for them.

For DR Vixmom,

Thanks, Jane.

Thanks again, Jane, but fortunately it's not entirely discouraging.

First, while playing Phase 10 at my mom's yesterday, I won two of the three games! ;D
-
Then, I realized that I could actually go see the Centralia College production of Into the Woods!
-
Several friends (who are not students) are in it, but because Mamma Mia! had the same performance schedule as theirs, anyone in our cast wouldn't be able to see their show, but now I can.
-
I snagged a ticket to today's matinee!
-
Pulled Pork is the name of the first volume of my theatrical memwaas.
Ah...a bit risque, then?
-
Good thoughts and best wishes for vixdad!!

It is always nice to have back up plans that are fun.
-
We can DO this!
-
With just a tiny little push.
-
THREE!!!
-
To quote The Wiz: Can you feel it? It's a brand new day. Yeah!
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.
-
We’re having a full lunar eclipse tonight.
-
Viewing is supposed to be great here.
-
Not here.
-
I have been thinking about Vixdad all day and hope he will be ok.
-
I have been, too, DR Jane.
-
It was a nice afternoon for a walk.
-
We have been binge-watching Season 2 of Sanditon. It's fun to hiss the villains.
-
I don't know the history of the book - whether Austen ever finished it.
-
I suppose I could look it up.
-
Well, Into the Woods wasn't too bad...for a community/college production.
-
They had nine live performers (two keyboards) and most of the singers were pretty good. Acting was a little hit and miss, fortunately more hit than miss.
-
It was slow, though. It lasted about three hours. They definitely needed to pick up the pace.
-
But the set and costumes were wonderful. After the show, they let audience ask questions (being a school, and all) and the said that their costume designed built 32, count 'em, 32 costumes!
-
And now, I'm dining at the Centralia Quiznos. :)
-
Back from the second dance session of the day. I am exhausted.
-
Watching the rest of Dog. It's not unfolding as I had expected, which I really like.
-
But it's still in the upper 90s and it's hot.
-
All my life I have been prone to hiccups.
-
They are extremely annoying, especially when they continue for hours at a time.
-
Fortunately I think/hope this round only lasted five minutes.
-
'night

Oh, my goodness! Hours?? :o That sounds terrible!

I don't think I'm going to make it to the lunar eclipse.
-
But we are close to a page turn.
-
It's not Rose's Turn. It's Paige's Turn!
-
One more.
-
FOUR!
-
Good night, friends.
-
But the night is young, Singdaw!
-
And attention must be paid!
-
What am I, Linda Loman, all of a sudden?
-
the eclipse hasn't started yet.
-
So, I finished up a short bit of writing I had to do.
-
And I finished Dog.
SPOILER ALERT: The dog does not die at the end. But read through to the final credit, and, well ...
-
I'm now watching the very strange Dementia, which has a fine George Anthiel score that BK released. Marni Nixon apparently does some vocal stuff in the film.
It's almost silent. And it doesn't make much sense. But it doesn't have to.
-
Seeing the slut mother on a divan in the middle of the cemetery is quite humorous. Nice fishnets.
-
Gratuitous post 100!
-
Spent my afternoon in Zoom chat (3 hours) and a phone call (90 minutes). Had shrimp and fries for supper. Watched a bit 'o TV...CNN's Stanley Tucci's Search for Italy, and now it's my bed time.
I did go outside the house to find the moon which should be a full blood moon right before the eclipse. Couldn't find even a glow behind a cloud where it might have been. Oh, well.
-
Thank you for the vibes and prayers, please keep them coming
There have been no changes
-
Oh my goodness, Vixmom! Prayers for Vixdad.
-
More prayers for Vixdad.
-
The eclipse has started. I keep going out every 20 minutes or so.
-
Less than 20 minutes left in Dementia. I guess I'll go out again when it's over.
-
Starting Ken Russell's Valentino. Nuryev is interesting, not great, but the script is horrible.
-
Good night, all.
-
Thanks for the reminder about the eclipse, turned out I had the perfect view from my kitchen window
-
Goodnight

I went outside but couldn't see anything because it was raining. ::)

Let me guess. A soliloquy?

All my life I have been prone to hiccups.
I once had them for forty plus hours.
-
Rainy day today.
-
But, at least the temperature reached over sixty degrees.
-
Rainy day today.
It was raining a bit before I drove down to Centralia, and it was quite nice while I was there.
-
I am starting to think that we won’t have a Spring this year.
-
Last post.
-
Then it started raining as I left and was heading home, then rained more later in the afternoon and evening, which prevented me from seeing the moon.
-
Page 5!
-
And now, it's not raining...go figure. ;)
-
Page 5!
Whew!
-
Tomorrow, it's back to work. :P
-
Not for me.
-
Not for me.
Good! To quote John Houseman, "You've earned it!"
-
Where was INTO THE WOODS playing? I thought Centralia was where you were doing MAMMA MIA?
-
Where was INTO THE WOODS playing? I thought Centralia was where you were doing MAMMA MIA?
Into the Woods is a Centralia College production, but they allow community members to be in their shows. Mamma Mia! is at Evergreen Playhouse, which is a community theater group in Centralia.
-
Um, REALLY?
-
This is most unseemly.
-
People come, people go, like Grand Hotel.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
You'd think it was a Sunday or something.
-
When it's actually a Monday or something.
-
Oh well, nothing to be done about it.
