Well, you've read the notes, the notes waned, and now it is time for you to post until the waning cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EXPONENT!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Annabelle is lying next to mew on the computer table and we are listening to Rachmaninov's LIturgy of St John Chrysostom. It's quite beautiful and peaceful.
-
There are many fine recordings of that to choose from.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Many strange and disjointed dreams. The last of which, I was departing a restaurant, and Jonathan Winters greeted me by name.
-
That was really random.
-
Today would have been the 69th birthday of John McGlinn. If you own a recording of his you like, play a track in his memory. My favorite remains "Barney O'Flynn" from his unreleased Babes in Toyland.

-
I have absolutely no plans today although I would like to finish scoring the first part of the overture.
-
I am listening to "Music from Man of La Mancha" by Joe Sherman and the Washington Squares. It's pretty wild.
-
I don't think I'll be arising at 3:00am tomorrow to watch the funeral. But it will probably be available to watch later.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Wordle and Phoodle in 3.
-
Very tired.
-
I hope I can stay awake to play bells.

Feeling exhausted for some reason
-
Good morning, all.
-
You’d never know it’s going to be 85 today, what with me running heat right now to take the chill off. But that’s the time of year we’re in.
-
I will listen to some Babes in Toyland today.
It's incredible how young McGlinn was when he left.
-
Sunday!
I imagine if I can find the theeder today, we will enjoy the show. Time will tell.
I like the Elvis DR singdaw - perhaps I shall purchase one.
His namesake is still being very quiet. But today he has discovered the swing and is enjoying it.
-
I hope MR BK enjoys the show!
-
Some newly adopted pets stay silent for a while. When Nathan brought little Kali home, she didn’t make a sound for quite a long time. Well, it seemed long to us. Our vet told us that’s okay, she just doesn’t have anything she needs to say yet. Sure enough, that eventually changed.
-
Good morning!

The curse of junk food, megalomania, and poverty, I fear.

Happy Sunday everyone! There's a new Broadway Radio Show now up on the site. It's time for another Diva Shout Out! This time we look at the career and recordings of 4-time Tony Award nominee Judy Kuhn. You'll hear songs from her Broadway, London and Off-Broadway work as well as selections from her 4 solo albums. Check it out!

Almost ready to go to the theeder.

Ditto.
-
Back from a morning of dancing.
-
And some fine Chinese food.
-
Bells played well. There was one note that we never got. It was when transferred from bells to chimes. We were probably the only ones to notice it.
-
Time for a nap.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Have shaved and will shower in fifteen minutes.
-
Finally have the last of our location shoots - so, that's all done.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to see a matinee.
-
All of Puerto Rico is without power. I think Hurricane Fiona is going to be a major disaster.
-
I did reach the point in the overture that was my goal today, and it's one-third finished.
-
I just had some fried chicken, courtesy of ann and Jen and succotash, which I concosted from the frozen beans and corn in my freezer. It was quite tasty.
-
Sufferin' succotash!
-
:)
-
That's pretty cool, Singdaw!

Oh, no! At least, the paper towel thrower is gone for this one! ::)
;)

Sufferin' succotash!
Shouldn't that be THufferin' THuccotash? ;D
-
It should indeed, DR George. ;D
-
Forgot to mention that a raft of Indiegogo perks arrived yesterday!
-
Slow news day.
-
No Indiegogo perks in San Antonio -- yet.
-
The Perfect Furlough is not very entertaining.
-
But Elaine Stritch steals every scene she's in.
-
Three!
-
Sadly Elaine ain't in enough scenes.
-
Jealous of former DR Jose, who this afternoon is seeing Bernstein's Mass at the Kennedy Center.
-
This is the fiftieth anniversary year of both the piece and the venue.
-
Well, at least they can't say that we didn't get to page three.
-
Is that a double negative?
-
Is there an echo in here?
-
Anyone have any sure-fire tips for how to remove the old-timey CD seals and the sticky case residue which remains?
-
Goo Gone?
-
Lighter fluid. Not butane, just the regular bottle of Ronsonol. Yellow bottle. Been using it for years.
And what DR John G. said. There might even be other products marketed especially for this, but I've never tried any.

MAJOR VIBES FOR PUERTO RICO!

This week is one of the most important days up the year, up there with Noche de los Rabanos, Eliza Doolittle Day and St. Swithin's Day. Do you know what it is?
-
Thank you to DR John G. and DR ChasSmith for the great suggestions.
-
Do you remember
The 21st night of September?
Love was changin' the minds of pretenders
While chasin' the clouds away
-
Forgot to mention that a raft of Indiegogo perks arrived yesterday!
Mine are being sent to my work, so tomorrow is the earliest that I might get them.

And absolutely NOT Goof Off! It's a "potent acetone-based formula" that will pretty much melt the plastic. :o

I seem to have lost my stamina ever since the covid
-
After church I took communion to three hours, picked up egg sandwiches for Vixdad and myself and came home
-
I barely ate three quarters of my sandwich and was too exhausted to eat more
-
I ended up napping for an hour
-
When I woke I moved laundry from washer to dryer and went to the church to pick up the used communion linens
-
Someone had kindly cleared the altar and put all the elements away
-

I hope you are being careful to get the rest you need and not overdo things.
-

There you go, three hours sounds tiring to me.
-
It was Rally Day today with a big barbecue and games etc and a glorious day for it
-
By time I got back to the church it was nearly over so I wandered through and made my greetings then left
-
Today was Vancouver's annual PeaceHealth APPLETREE Boston-Qualifying Marathon. The course runs along the Columbia River Renaissance Trail and our home. Out for a walk, we missed most of the runners except for one old geezer who, eventually, passed us. The final runner.
-
Then I went to the Aldi and picked up a few items and came back home
-
Talking with a race official we were told the last guy, Larry, has run 2300 marathons.
-
This article about him was from 2017. His stories are interesting, and the one during the Boston Marathon moving.

-
Then I decided to change from my dress and lay in the bed “for a minute”
-
Three hours later I was groggily putting on my jeans and Tshirt
-
Got the stuff out of the dryer and folded shirts and matched socks
-
Then I made a pot of chili
-
John would not approve, but Vixdad likes beans so there were a can each of black, white and red along with 2.5 lbs of ground beef
-
It came out quite well actually
-
And now it’s nearly 7 and little has been done
-
But I’m ready to nap again
-
Another nap sounds good to me.
-
Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Story was good, but it was no Summer of Soul.
-
Watched 20 minutes or so of Jean-Luc Godard’s Weekend. Was definitely not in the mood.
-
Now starting Buck and the Preacher. Sidney Poitier’s directorial debut. Harry Belafonte costars.

It has been a long, long time since I have seen this. I don't remember much about it.
-

It seems to me you did a lot in-between naps. You are just used to doing more.
-
It was 98 today. Hitting 99 or higher later this week.

Debbie Gravitte is playing Golde in a production of Fiddler on the Roof.
-
Back from the closing performance of 13. Nothing has changed in my opinion since I saw the last production of it that friend Barry directed. I dislike the show hugely, mostly because the boy we're supposed to care about in the show, treats his one and only friend like crap and continues to do so through most of the show. Yes, he comes around at the end but, for me, too little too late. It's all about wanting to be part of the cool kids. I truly believe that's why the show was a huge flop on B'way. But all the show's really about is wanting to get "tongue" and more - at thirteen. THAT is also a huge problem, when that's one of the main focuses. The songs all sound the same, basically. I assume the original production at the Taper here in LA had great kids and a great band of young people. Here we had the geriatric band - they were fine, but much more fun if it's great young folks. The choreography was better than the first production he did.
-
Some of the kids were fun, but no matter how much you want to disguise it in publicity and postings, community theater is community theater, no matter how slickly done, in the sense that in the end you can only use the kids who audition.
-
And now it’s nearly 7 and little has been done
Are you kidding me? I'm exhausted reading about all the things you accomplished today.
-
:)
-
Good night, friends.

Yup.

'night
-
I'm not thinking Buck and the Preacher is any kind of forgotten masterpiece. The script veers all over the place. But it's never less than interesting. And the performances are fun.
-
Harry Belafonte's naked backside looks a lot whiter than his shoulders do in the very next scene. I wonder if they used a stunt double.
-
I do like Benny Carter's twangy score.
-
Good evening.
-
Can we get off this page?
-
Hi, DR Laura!
-
Five!
-
I have been camping in the forest.
-
Talking with a race official we were told the last guy, Larry, has run 2300 marathons.
Wow! That's really amazing!
-
Grandson: "Old like the queen, and she's dead."
Ha!

I am very confused about the funeral schedule. They keep saying that 3:00 a.m. funeral at Westminster is the main state funeral. Then next time they say that if you want to catch the funeral, it will start ai around eight o’clock.

Maybe some of it's delayed for parts of the US?

No, they keep saying that this will all be covered live. Ankh they have different names for the two services.
-
Oh well, i doubt I will be awake for either one.

I certainly won't.

New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
Not thrilled with yet another light posting day - let's not make this a "thing."
-
Let's just not.
-
Because that would be unseemly.
-
Wow, only ninety posts to some kind of new plateau.
-
Page six is apparently a dream within a dream.
-
It is.
-
I have no conception of how close or far it is.
-
I only know we're not there.
-
As you can see.
-
As I can see.
-
Oh, say can you see?
-
Calling page six.
-
Damn them, damn them all to hell.
-
Okay, now I'm being gaslit.
-
I personally have just made a plethora of postings.
-
To no avail.
-
None.
-
Okay, I'm done with this gaslighting malarkey.
-
I was trying to remember how to change the region code on my Blu-ray player.
-
I have two different players, and the way to change them is different, and I can't remember one of the ways. :-\
-
Hopefully, I'll be able to so that I can play Blu-rays of different regions on both of my players instead of just one...which is okay, but still I'd like to be able to use both for all three Blu-ray regions.
-
It's a first world problem, I know. ;)

Gratuitous Post #155!
