Well, you've read the notes, the notes had small pleasures, and now it is time for you to post until the small, pleasurable cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: METAMORPHOSE!

I guess at some point, everything shows up. Go to 2:39 - I did this as a favor to the director, who I'd worked with on The Partridge Family - had no memory of it other than it was at a gas station in Burbank. Who knew I played a scene with Dean Jones? Not me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8bsQuaZayQ

Good morning, all!
-
On a shit scale of 10 being the worst, my day has so far been around 7,
-
Since I was not stepping out today, I decided to sleep in for an hour after the alarm rang at 5:15. Annabelle settled under the blankets somewhere around my knees and we got an extra hour of sleep. At 6:15 the day began.
1. First of all, I could not find my eye drops, and I became certain the cats had lost them; I keep them in a small plastic bag so I can carry them with me. That meant crawling around the floor till they turned up, lost in a pile of books I need help in putting away.
2. My timing was off; I dropped Annabelle's dish of breakfast onto the kitchen floor and had a mess to clean up.
3. The computer opened with a glitch and I could not log on. I had to reboot it.
-
Now that I've settled down with my coffee, things have relaxed, and I am ibn a much better mood.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Glad your day is improving, DR elmore3003.
-
I would think it would be hard to worry about Object Location Permanence when you live with three furry critters.
-
That's OLP, for short.
-
Whew, BK. You are one busy guy.
-
Well, at least there's a lot of creative stuff going on.
-
Good morning

I slept through the night, a rarity

They they arrival for the nouns, and I speech nothing because I no verbs.

What if you used cheese ravioli instead of lasagna noodles in a lasagna?

These are the things I ponder.

Thursday morning greetings! We’re waiting for the “I’m on the way” call from the dryer repair guy.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am up.
-
In an hour I must perform my ablutions and get ready to go to the optometrist. I look forward to finding out the status of my eyes, and learning for sure whether it's time to see someone about cataracts or anything.

TOD:
Of active film music composers, I am fondest of John Williams. However, he is winding down his career, so my very favorite active composers are Carter Burwell, Michael Giacchino and Thomas Newman.
I do like Alexander Desplat and Philippe Rombi, but don't hear much from them.
-
Wow. 7:30am and it is still dark out.

I do like Alexander Desplat and Philippe Rombi, but don't hear much from them.
They don't call, they don't write...

I must reschedule my dental surgery today.
My primary care physician will prescribe a dose of something for me to take prior to surgery once I have set a date.

Good morning, all.

I have just ordered a dry-erase whiteboard for my desk. Since I am constantly writing down sensitive information, which has to be shredded, I think this will be a better solution.

I fell asleep with the TV on, and because I woke a few times before finally turning it off, I had a few crazy dreams at various times during the night. They were a combination of familiar dream themes along with references from yesterday and from current and recent musical activities. Oh, and Putin was included - in a segment completely unlike the others which was actually based on the Darrell Brooks trial. Absolutely incredible. What's really crazy is that while these ferkakte dreams are going on, we believe it all.
-

That's how they control you. 8)

I watched that movie Score a few years ago and thought it was okay but not great. A year or so after that I saw it again and had a much higher opinion of it. It most definitely does not cover the older Hollywood composers to the extent that it should, no question. But it's surprisingly good for what it is. If it were to be more comprehensive and balanced, it would have to have been a two- or three-parter.
-
We should get Ken Burns on that. I'm sure he'd do a bang-up job.

DR Jane, the annual Medicare open enrollment is already underway. The general health insurance open enrollment (for non-Medicare, Federal and State insurance exchanges) is the one that runs from Nov 1 to Jan 15 for 2023 coverage.
-
Well, each state that has their own exchange can set whatever enrollment window they like, but to avoid confusion, most states mirror the Federal window.

BK, there is a complete recording of Rabaud's comic opera Marouf, The Cobblerof Cairo:

What if you used cheese ravioli instead of lasagna noodles in a lasagna?
You would need to re-name it.

I must reschedule my dental surgery today.
My primary care physician will prescribe a dose of something for me to take prior to surgery once I have set a date.
Have rescheduled for one week from today. Sigh.
-
What if you used cheese ravioli instead of lasagna noodles in a lasagna?
You would need to re-name it.
Maybe, but I'd still love to try it! :)
-
Everybody is so busy today! Lots done and lots to get done.
I am relaxing - as usual.
-
Speaking of film composers - I watched A Stolen Life starring Bette Davis and Bette Davis with a film score by Max Steiner.....and was a bit puzzled to find a few musical cues that were used in the film A Summer Place.....a dozen years later.....maybe Mr Steiner just like them so much, he wanted us to hear them again.

Back from the O.D., with a fresh supply of contact lenses but no new prescription --
Because the next step in vision improvement for me will be to go for the consultation on cataract surgery. After several years of knowing it's eventually coming, it's time now. Or just about time. The next doctor will determine that for sure.
Thankfully, my eyes are in very healthy shape otherwise.
-
Too bad my wallet isn't, as I am now $421 the poorer.
It's so weird. Medicare (and I suppose my supplemental?) covers the basic exam, but not the contact lens evaluation or the refraction fee or the retinal imaging or the lenses. Gee, thanks for the help.
I always wonder, as regards health insurance plans, when exactly our eyes and teeth were determined to not be part of our bodies, to the point that even now in 2022 they get such little coverage.
-
I sympathize, DR ChasSmith.
Add brains to the list. Mental health has always been sadly lagging behind, as well.
-
From DR John:
Jane, have you had your book discussion yet? Just read in Shy that Edna Ferber shared a balcony with Richard Rodgers and became kind of a proxy parent to Mary.
We meet on Monday, and fingers crossed I can go. Thanks, I will share this with the group.
-
Thank you DR George.

Exactly.

That was fun, and funny you didn't know it was Dean Jones.

That is great there is something you can take. Vibes it works.

I have just ordered a dry-erase whiteboard for my desk. Since I am constantly writing down sensitive information, which has to be shredded, I think this will be a better solution.
Interesting solution. Is the whiteboard safe from spying eyes ;)

And Medicare has finally added hearing aids though I expect the quality of those covered isn't great.
-
No rain today. I really need to get out for a walk, and hopefully will feel better once I am moving.
-
Watched the video. BK as "Jerry". Amazing! :)
And equally amazing that BK had totally forgotten about it. I wonder what other little nuggets might come to light next. Stay tuned!
-
Well, Jerry, can you balance my tires?
-
It seems that a lot of the actors interacting with Jones were on back projection so I'm guessing MR BK didn't know what was going to happen in front of him in the scene.
-
Thanks for explaining.
-
In the Manhattan School of Music season, there’s a musical listed named Paperboy with a score by Jim Wann and a book by Emily Loesser.
Sounds intriguing.

I am so in love with this little cat. I live for this commercial.

Looks a little like Boufos, the resident cat at the place I stayed on Kos.

And yes, he’s a cutie

Car repairs didn’t quite reach $1,000. Before taxes.
-
Merry Christmas to me.
-
Today, I'm our working at the Olympia branch library!
-
Car repairs didn’t quite reach $1,000. Before taxes.
:o
-
It is the first time in four years or so for any repairs.
-
The whole district needs to inventory all the items, so a couple of us are going to this branch to help them, since they're one of the largest (and closest to where I work) branches.
-
We got here at 10:00, and we'll leave at 3:00 and go back to our building.
-
We're just now finishing up our lunch break, then it's back to the stacks!
-
Car repairs didn’t quite reach $1,000. Before taxes.
Ouch.
-
Boo!
-
Good evening!

Wordle: 3/6

Boo!
Awww. . .

$999.07.

Not a penny more.

Boo!
Awww.
-
Not a penny more.
That was close.
-
Oh, I guess I'm up. Had another rough night, but not too rough - up for a couple of hours - ultimately, I got at least seven hours, maybe a bit more.
-
Once up, it was one thing after another, mostly to do with preparing for tomorrow's shoot, making sure everyone had what they need to have.
-
Food was California Chicken Cafe - a breast and small thing of chicken pasta salad.
-
That's a cute cat DR ELMORE.
-
Car repairs.....so far so good this year.....knocking on wood.
-
Then I did a Zoom with David Wechter and talked through the stuff I didn't like and/or want to do. I'll now do a little tinkering, perhaps later this evening when I'm in a tinkering mood.
-
Boo!

Oh my. Did you also click on "Washington" to read that scary article?
No! I'll read it now.
-
OMG. :o
-
I was here yesterday! I just happened to be on page four.
-
And, of course, I fell asleep again last night and woke up after one o'clock.
-
OMG. :o
I know. DR TCB you should also read it.
-
Matthew Perry was taking 55 Vicodin tablets a day!! And nobody will let me take 6 hydrocodone tablets a day.
-
I was here yesterday! I just happened to be on page four.
And now here you are again! :)
-
On page four, I mean.
-
Mind you, I'm not complaining.
-
I don't know any modern film composers. I suppose John Williams still counts.
-
I'm thrilled that you're able to post at all.
-
I know very little about film music, but I'm sad that the craft of yore seems to have been lost.
-
Gee, I am on page four again. However things aren't looking very good today.
-
I was pretty impressed with what Howard Shore was able to accomplish with the Lord of the Rings movies, but I don't know any of his other stuff.
-
Where is slingblade to get us to page six?
-
Gee, I am on page four again.
That's what I said! :)
-
I don't know. Where IS he?
-
That scallywag.
-
Ohhhh, sneaking up behind me!
-
That flibbertygibbet.
-
That scarlet woman.
-
I tell ya, we got trouble!
-
But first,
-
We've got page five!
-
TCB did you open the link from George's story and click on Washington?
-
And not a moment too soon.
-
I just can't bring myself to read these horrible political stories.
-
Matthew Perry was taking 55 Vicodin tablets a day!! And nobody will let me take 6 hydrocodone tablets a day.
:(
-
I'm assuming that's what it is.
-
I would be happy to be mistaken.
-
I just can't bring myself to read these horrible political stories.
I agree, except this is happening in our state.
-
What this ole world needs right now is
love sweet love some heartwarming good news.
-
I take my first pill at 8:00 o'clock in the morning. I wait a half hour and I can, at least get out of bed. but it isn't until I take my second pill at noon that most of the hurt starts to go away.
-
But that seems to be in short supply.
-
That is just horrible, DR TCB.
-
Then I have to wait until 11 to 12 at night before I can take my third pill.
-
We are just praying that your next appointment will bring some relief. Is that next week?
-
DR TCB when my mother was dying of cancer she had trouble getting enough pain medication as they were concerned she would become addicted ::) >:(
-
TCB did you open the link from George's story and click on Washington?
No.
-
Then I have to wait until 11 to 12 at night before I can take my third pill.
:(
-
Is it the medical field or the insurance field that seems to have no common sense sometimes?
-
Or is it both?
-
We are just praying that your next appointment will bring some relief. Is that next week?
Thank you. You and me both.
-
Tonight, we watched the first two episodes of Magpie Murders and enjoyed them.
-
BK, can you give DR Jeanne a shout to see if she's OK? Haven't seen her around these parts in a while.
-
I think DR John G. has already eaten the last of the cranberry curd pie. Darn!
-
And DR Laura isn't doing any baking, what her missing kitchen implements.
-
The Missing Implements could be the title of the next something-or-other.
-
It could.
-
It really, really could.
-
:)
-
I think I might have posted that one already.
-
If so, sorry for the duplication.
-
SIX!
-
TCB did you open the link from George's story and click on Washington?
That was scary! Is Joe Kent your district's candidate?
-
SIX!
Thank you, singdaw! I need to go to the bedroom. Good night, my friend.
-
The country has lost its mind.
-
Sweet dreams as best you can, DR TCB.
-
Good night, friends.
-
TCB did you open the link from George's story and click on Washington?
That was scary! Is Joe Kent your district's candidate?
Yes. And the democratic opponent is weak. This district is more Republican which doesn't help.
-
SIX!
Thank you, singdaw! I need to go to the bedroom. Good night, my friend.
Good night. I hope you sleep well.
-
'night
-
I, too, have missed DR Jeanne around these parts. And Dr Jennifer.
-
Good night, friends.
Good night, scrimshaw!
-
I’ll tell you one modern film composer I don’t care for: Michael Nyman.
I have liked John Corigliano’s music for movies.
Trent Reznor can be good, with or without Atticus Ross. (And bad, too.)
-
Pasek and Paul have two original film musicals out this fall, and I don’t want to hear either one.
-
That’s sad.
-
I guess at some point, everything shows up. Go to 2:39 - I did this as a favor to the director, who I'd worked with on The Partridge Family - had no memory of it other than it was at a gas station in Burbank. What fun!
-
Good night, all.
-
Matthew Perry was taking 55 Vicodin tablets a day!! And nobody will let me take 6 hydrocodone tablets a day.
Just another example of the "Haves" and the "Have-Nots." ::)
;)
-
I don't know any modern film composers. I suppose John Williams still counts.
Ditto and ditto.
-
Gee, I am on page four again. However things aren't looking very good today.
At least, it's a different page four.
-
That scallywag.
That flibbertygibbet.
Watch your phraseology!
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
With my viewing I'm finished.
-
Finished, do you hear me?
-
I heard me.
-
Think I'll listen to some music, then shave so I don't have to do that in the morning.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I received the plan from my dentist to try and fix all my dental issues.
-
Total cost $23,245.00
-
Insurance will pay $814.80
-
So I “only” have to come up with $22,430.20
-
Everyone please check under your sofa cushions and last years jacket pockets for spare change
-
So I “only” have to come up with $22,430.20
Holy crap, Vixmom! :o
-
But on the bright side, you got us to Page Seven! :D
-
Happy to see TCB was here
-
But very sorry about his continued pain
-
So I “only” have to come up with $22,430.20
Holy crap, Vixmom! :o
So now I'm doing a cost analysis, trying to guess how many years i might have left and if its a good investment to get teeth
-
TCB Was Here - that's the title of my next novel.
-
Notes are written and ready to post at the midnight hour.
-
Now I'll shave so I don't have to do that in the morning.
-
Try and stop me.
-
Perhaps George will be here to liven things up as the clock ticks away.
-
Perhaps he just will.
-
The Clock Ticks Away, Sounds like Agatha Christie.
-
Did George have a show tonight?
-
And where is Iris?
-
And still no George. And where IS Iris?
-
Most unseemly.
-
Could have gotten to page eight easily.
-
But nooooo...
-
New notes are ready to post.
-
It is almost time.
-
Perhaps George will be here to liven things up as the clock ticks away.
I'm here.
-
I went through all of my lines a couple of times (about an hour each time) and then watched parts of a DVD that I got from the library...not interested enough in watching the whole thing, so I'll return it tomorrow.
-
Gratuitous Post #203! ;D
-
I could get us to page eight.
-
The prodigal George returns.
-
Now we can get to page eight.
-
I feel it in my bones. What it is doing in my bones is unknown at this time.
-
Um, how about a little help?
-
That’s funny. George was here a minute ago.
-
Why am I doing a monologue?
-
At long last, page eight.
-
Did George have a show tonight?
No, we couldn't have a show tonight. Several of the actors are in Evergreen Playhouse's next show, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, and they had a rehearsal tonight.
-
Looks like we made it.
-
That’s funny. George was here a minute ago, but he didn’t post.
I did...it takes time to type, ya know!
-
I think that's a song title.
-
I think.
-
I think therefore I am.
-
Looks like we made it.
...to quote Barry Manilow. ;)
-
I am, therefore I think.
-
We're all profound.
-
I think that's a song title.
And you are correct!
-
Not anti-found, but profound.
-
I'm listening to music but will try to be in bed by one at the latest.
-
Will it all changed at exactly midnight??
-
I'm praying for a not rough night.
-
Certainly I didn't eat anything that should cause any issues. And I've had water.
-
That’s funny. George was here a minute ago, but he didn’t post.
I did...it takes time to type, ya know!
But why would your name disappear while you were typing?
-
I'm praying for a not rough night.
~~~Vibes for NOT a Rough Night for BK!!~~~
-
And only two Diet drinks.
-
I've been DAMN good.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
That’s funny. George was here a minute ago, but he didn’t post.
I did...it takes time to type, ya know!
But why would your name disappear while you were typing?
I did have to look up Evergreen Playhouse's next show. I couldn't remember if it was White Christmas or Holiday Inn and I went to their website. Even though I was in the same browser, I guess going to another tab was enough to make me seem like I disappeared.
-
I've seen them first hand.
-
Not second hand.
-
Why isn't George an Evergreen player?
-
Why?
-
We must know.
-
Why isn't George an Evergreen player?
I am...for the moment. And then will be again in May.
-
We cannot be kept in the dark.
-
...when I'll be in their production of Tuck Everlasting.
-
I will most definitely have a smaller role in that show...and I am very grateful for that! :))
