Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of one day more, and now it is time for you to post until the one day more cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ALIGN!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Dino has made his entrance.
-
After the movie last night, we took Margo home, then Shelly and I went to Applebee's because I was hungry. That's where I was until I got home just before midnight.
-
Last night, Jane asked, "Do they have the window there waiting to install it?"
Yes! They did order the part and kept it there, so the only reason that it's not being replaced until next Thursday is because that was the earliest day that a loaner car was available. I'll bring my car in at 1:15 and take the loaner, then I'll be able to keep the car for up to 24 hours once they call and tell me that the window is fixed, not from when I bring it in. :)
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another lousy night of sleep. I turned off the lights at 9:30, then tossed about until 12:30. Some time after that, I finally nodded off. I did sleep well after that.
-
I am supposed to have a zoom meeting this morning to go through Act Two if the ballet, but no one's set up the meeting!
-
I've sent two emails asking if I misplaced thev email with the zoom link and neither Doug nor Phil has responded.
-
I have no more news.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Nice posting totals yesterday!
-
Thanks to DR George and DR TCB.
-
I searched high and low, but didn't come across the Gershwin score. Sorry, DR ChasSmith.
-
I thought I might be able to scrounge up the full score of Oh Kay, but had no success.
-
But I did find a recipe for smashed cheesy potatoes.
-
So there's that.
-
I have five locations in my apartment - bathroom, kitchen, computer table, worktable, and bed - where I mostly hang out. Yesterday, I set one of my canes down somewhere, and I cannot locate it anywhere today. It's really working my last nerve. Where the fat hell is it?
-
Annabelle has appropriated it to construct a stage.
-
I don't know much about Calculus, but here's a cute kitten:
-
I do not have the requested sheet music either.
-
My days are all mixed up. I didn't think it was Friday - but I didn't know what day it was.....
-
Russ Tamblyn turns 88 today.....
-
I was going to the movies today.....but I don't know if I feel like it.....we shall see.
-
Rainy day today....a bit of sleet.....they say.
-
Happy New Year's Eve Eve!
-
:( I awoke this morning to the sad news that my cousin-in-law Rob Mims passed away in the early morning hours.
I had posted earlier that I thought this past Christmas would be his last. I spent Christmas Eve with family, including Rob, and he was gaunt and obviously in pain, but he was getting shots every four hours for pain. He put on a brave face of enjoying the gathering, but Debra told me this morning that Christmas Day was a complete nightmare for him, pain-wise.
Apparently, his final 48 hours were in some degree of agony as the pain meds stopped working. She said he kept calling out for his "Mama" and it broke her heart.
Sadly, my generation of cousins are in our final years. We have just experienced the losses of our parents over the past four years and now we face the end of our mortality.
Grim, huh? !!!
-
I, for one, will face 2023 as a year of attempting to stay healthy and cautious.
May we all face the new year with hope and cheer.
-
How can it be the last Friday of 2023?
-
Happy New Page!
-
Where IS everyone??
-
Good morning, all.
-
Surprising amount of work today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
How can it be the last Friday of 2023?
TRICK QUESTION!
-
A very welcome January Thaw is starting early, and we do not complain.
Low 50s now, and it will be in the mid 60s by next Wednesday.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I'm sorry to hear of your cousin's death. I send my condolences to your family.
-
The zoom meeting went well. I have my work cut out for the next year.
-
That sounds like a good thing, DR elmore3003. I am glad that they are working ahead of deadline.
-
Condolences and {{{hugs}}} DR Ron Pulliam.
-
Let's turn that GRIM to a GRIN.
-
Which, spelled backward, is NIRG.
-
What we have here is a dearth of nirg.
-
:)
-
Which, spelled backward, is NIRG.
What we have here is a dearth of nirg.
How is that possible when you are posting here??
-
Thank you DR Singdaw.
-
Good morning.
-
From Singdaw:
I believe that the Christmas episode of All Creatures Great and Small that aired last week was actually the final episode of Season 2, and not an entirely new Christmas special.
Season 2 also had a Christmas special.
-
From Singdaw:
But Season Three is coming
We already watched season three, so you did watch the Christmas special out of order, or actually watched the one from season two.
-
Thanks DR John.
-
I'm glad your cousin-in-law was able to spend his last Christmas with loved ones, Ron.
-
John I feel the same way about Reacher.
-
DR TCB I am relieved for you that you now have your new oxygen tubing.
-
Keith likes diet Dr. Pepper. I don't care for either the diet or regular but I never thought of it as tasting dusty ;D
-
I am almost tempted to try some Pepper again and see if it tastes dusty.
-
I really wanted to like it when I loved the David Naughton commercial.
-

I thought you were driving your sister's car. Are you back in your own car? I do realize having a car from them means no one has to drop you off or pick you up.
-
I guess I'm confused, DR Jane. My public television monthly guide says that season three of the re-vamp of All Creatures Great and Small is coming in January. I know we've watched seasons one and two, and season two ended with a Christmas episode. And season three is supposed to contain the wedding.
Ah, well. It's not important, in the scheme of things.

-
DR Jane inaugurated
season page three!
-
We need to turn this swearhouse into swearhome.
-
I thought I might be able to scrounge up the full score of Oh Kay, but had no success.
I came across a PDF of what I guess were some vocal selections, but the song that ChasSmith is looking for was not in that edition. :-\

I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
I stayed up till three because I watched the PBS special about Dick Cavett and Groucho. Wonderful and highly recommended.

I am still driving my sister's car, which is a Honda CRV. I'll have the loaner while they're fixing my Subaru.
-
I believe a good sneeze would kill me

Pulled my back out and now im walkinh ( gingerly) with a can
NOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Wordle and Phoodle in 3

I am so sorry, DR vixmom.

~~QUICK RECUPERATION VIBES~~~ to you!!!!!!!

Your luck really needs to turn for 2023.

One of those cans with the pre-mixed Old Fashioneds would probably help.
-
Vixmom: Oy!!
-
Condolences for DR Ron Pulliam and his family.
-
Vibes for DR VIXMOM....oh my!
-
Vixmom, did you get a picture of the handsome young firemen who came to help you out of the shower?
-
The vocal score for Oh, Kay! was never published. Your best best is to get a copy of the song from the Gershwin Trust, which I believe is now in the hands of hte Library of Congress Music Division.
-
Also, I could be wrong since I do not have the Roxbury recording handy, but I believe that song you are looking for, DR ChasSmith, was not in the show on Broadway, but a Tommy Krasker decision to interpolate a song that was dropped from the original. It would therefore be most likely a manuscript rather than a published copy.
-
:)
-
Four.
-
;)
-
:)) for both pictures!
-
DR Jane inaugurated season page three!
;D
-
I stayed up till three because I watched the PBS special about Dick Cavett and Groucho. Wonderful and highly recommended.
I forgot about it. I do want to watch it.
-
So i fell in the shower this morning
Oh no. Is your shower floor slippery?
-
Bending is agonizing
I am sorry. Sending speedy healing vibes.
-
I believe a good sneeze would kill me
Probably :( No sneezing vibes.
-
Feel better soon, Vixmom.
How are you feeling today?
-
Vixmom, did you get a picture of the handsome young firemen who came to help you out of the shower?
;D
-
DR Elmore, thank you for that information! I'll pass it along. Much appreciated.
-
Just logging off for the year.
-
Watching an overly earnest melodrama, The Duke of West Point, with a very young Joan Fontaine (not the Duke).
-
After Reacher, this is so innocent.
-
Elmore and BK, do you think that Michael Lavine may have that Gershwin sheet music?
-
Feel better soon, Vixmom.
-
Sorry to hear about your cousin, DR Ron.
-
I have the fingers out of the splints. Still itchy because of the stitches.
-
DR Jane, your upcoming cruise sounds fantastic.
-
ChasSmith, apparently no one listens to me or reads my posts. I'll have the song for you within the hour.
-
Food should be here in about twenty minutes or so.
-
At least that's the hope.
-
DR Elmore, very funny cartoon! 😄
Did you find the cane? Could it have rolled under the bed?
-
The movie has come down to a hockey match. It ain’t Slap Shot.
-
Hand bandaged up again, so I can nap after the movie.

Thank you. I hope it is.

It must be nice to be able to take it off occasionally. Is it still numb?
-
Where IS everyone??
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm in agony
-
When traveling I always worry about checked luggage, but now I am terrified of it. Usually we only travel with a carry-on bag, except when traveling for a long trip.
-
Ron, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you hugs
-
I had to go to a closing this morning.
-
Of course there were issues with the wire and funding approval, so it took 4 hours
-
I dropped the file off at my office and went home

-
Would you like freshly-ground pepper?
-
Everyone needs to hang on - this year is almost done!
-
Eating an Eyetalian sandwich from Fat Sal's - got fries with it, which arrived ice cold. I put 'em in the microwave and that heats them up but doesn't do much for the fries themselves.
-
The Oh Kay song is on its way to ChasSmith.
-
Fat Sal should meet Slim Jim.
-
That was nice of you, BK.
-
Friday afternoon greetings! We did an in-person grocery shopping today. Before we left our neighbor Rosemary told Richard she was going to bring us some lasagna, so we bought salad and bread to go with it. As he was bringing in our groceries she arrived with the lasagna, so - VOILA - dinner!
-
Next week I’m going back to curbside pickup…
-
DR Vixmom, I’m sorry to hear about your fall and glad to hear you’re being checked out.
-
DR Ron, condolences to you and your family.

One of my co-workers is obsessed with candles.
-
She'll buy 15 at a time, in various weird combinations of scents.
-
I told her to call me when they have raspberry/dryer lint/eucalyptus in stock.
-
Greta Thunberg posted "That's what happens when you don't recycle your pizza boxes."
-
I adore her.
-
In 9 minutes, the phone lines turn off at work for 2022.
-
It's very slow at the moment.
-
Six!
-
People are probably preoccupied with matters beyond insurance at this moment.
-
And I can't say that I blame them.
-
Hope you are feeling better today, DR Laura.
-
I am improving day by day, but the progress is agonizingly slow.
-
I feel so badly for DR vixmom.
-
Greta Thunberg posted "That's what happens when you don't recycle your pizza boxes."
;D
-
I, too, am glad to read that DR TCB has the proper equipment on hand.
-
We can't recycle our pizza boxes due to the oil, and often food on them.
-
Not that I have pizza boxes, just that is the ruling from the recycling service.
-
I told her to call me when they have raspberry/dryer lint/eucalyptus in stock.
Interesting combination you came up with-lol
-
I am improving day by day, but the progress is agonizingly slow.
How many days now have you been negative? Speedy improving vibes!
-
I feel so badly for DR vixmom.
Yes, and no new news yet.
-
Thanks, DR Jane. I haven't actually tested again yet, as I haven't been going out. But I really should.
-
Today is the first day I haven't had to clear my throat 20 times an hour.
-
Thanks, DR Jane. I haven't actually tested again yet, as I haven't been going out. But I really should.
How many days since your first positive test? It seems like it has been awhile now.
-
Today is the first day I haven't had to clear my throat 20 times an hour.
That is something.
-
Keith tested positive for ten days.
-
For me, it's been over 3 weeks now, DR Jane.
-
I'm pretty sure I will no longer test positive.
-
For me, it's been over 3 weeks now, DR Jane.
Have you made an appointment with your doctor? Testing positive that long isn't a big deal but still feeling sick, maybe.
-
I'm pretty sure I will no longer test positive.
Maybe I read that wrong. When did you test positive last?
-
-
Haven't tested since then, as I haven't been going out.
-
LOL, I would have wanted to know anyway.
-
Good evening!
-
Condolences to DR RonPulliam.

Vibes for DR vixmom
-
Thanks for the travel vibes the other day. My flight was yesterday and there were no problems at all.
-
Greta Thunberg posted "That's what happens when you don't recycle your pizza boxes."
;D
-
PAGE SEVEN DANCE!!
-
We can't recycle our pizza boxes due to the oil, and often food on them.
Do you have food composting? Most food-soiled pizza boxes can go there. Remove any parts that aren't contaminated and recycle those, and compost the parts with foodstuffs on them.
-
Today is the first day I haven't had to clear my throat 20 times an hour.
That's great!
-
Well, I'm done with work today.
-
I looked at my time sheet and my leftover vacation is actually at 239.95 hours, which is just .05 under the max to go into a new year! :D
-
Until later!

Hello, everyone.
-
Condolences to Ron and his family.

How can it be the last Friday of 2023?
Boy, that year went fast!

Hand bandaged up again, so I can nap after the movie.
It must be nice to be able to take it off occasionally. Is it still numb?
Index finger is. It’ll be so until the stitches are out.

The zoom meeting went well. I have my work cut out for the next year.
Good news! May it continue.

PBS will let Passport members stream certain shows before they are officially available, ie, broadcast on TV.
-
Dozed off for about twenty minutes. And of course got an annoying text that woke me up.
-
The January Kritzerland show is sold out. So, we may add Saturday night.
-
I am improving day by day, but the progress is agonizingly slow.
sorry to hear that the progress is so slow. I'm sure that's very frustrating.
Vibes for faster progress!
-
DR Laura, how are you feeling?
Vibes you're soon 100%.
-
Continued hand recovery vibes for John G.
-
The January Kritzerland show is sold out. So, we may add Saturday night.
Congrats.

While I was at acupuncture today my acupuncturist told me about an iodine nasal spray that supposedly helps to block viral infections. Most infections are transmitted through the nose. I'd heard of nasal vaccines before, but hadn't heard of an iodine spray. It's Povidone Iodine Nasal Spray and available at some drug stores or online from epothex.com. It's preventative, not therapeutic.
-
Stay warm, stay safe, and stay well.
TTFN.

I began another page.
-
I take a weekly shot for my diabetes. I was told last week that the medicine was not available in a 40-mile radius. Who knows when it would be available again.
-
Well, I just got a message it was in andi ran immediately to pick it up.
-
I guess I was afraid they’d give it to someone else.
-
That's scary. I am glad you got it.
-
Did you miss any dosages?
-
I was supposed to take it yesterday. Ill take it tonight.
-
Watching Enduring Love, a not very good film of an intriguing Ian McEwan novel. Young Daniel Craig and Samantha Morton make it better than it is.
-
Nice piece on Florence Price. I love her first symphony.

I was supposed to take it yesterday. Ill take it tonight.
Not too, too late, no wonder you rushed right over for it.
-
I was hoping DR Vixmom would post.
-
Me, too.
-
And now for something strange: Back to the Beach.
-
Congrats to MR BK on the sellout.
I read your post and had every confidence that DR CHAS SMITH would get his music.
-
Luka has 11 points in 11 minutes in the first half.
He is now back on the court for the third quarter.
-
Barbara Walters has died :( She was 93.
-
Sad news.
-
The fireworks have started.
-
Too bad they can't wait until midnight tomorrow.
-
'night
-
Looks like things are hopping here.
-
Thanks for the tip, DR Jeanne. Sounds intriguing.
-
Nine? Do I hear nine?
-
Not yet.
-
We will have to settle for eight.
-
For the time being.
-
My mother's "care package" of holiday cookies arrived in today's mail.
-
When we were on the same coast, we used to do three days of holiday baking together.
-
We made hundreds of dozens of cookies, quick breads, and brittles.
-
I miss that tradition.
-
Ah, Nine.
-
And now: a long holiday weekend.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Enduring Love has a nice score by Jeremy Sams.
-
DR JEANNE's post about the spray medicine was most informative and interesting.
-
Frankie and Annette rule. The movie was pure silliness.
-
The doctor prescribed a muscle relaxent
-
The pharmacy (next door to the clinic) sent me a text saying it would be ready in 3 hours
-
Vixdad put me in the car and then went into the pharmacy and told them the doctor wanted me take it immediately
-
Which was true
-
Then he stood there waiting until they made it
-
Took about 20 minutes
-
Then he drove me home
-
Getting out of the car was agonizing but probably looked comical to any passersby
-
Then he helped me into my recliner and went out for Chinese takeaway fir our dinner
-
I had pork egg foo yung
-
I hope the meds have done their job, Vixmom.
-
Then he put on the first episode of Rings of Power whivh i have wanted to see
-
But i fell asleep
-
Getting out of the chair when i woke was another ordeal
-
But after another muscle relaxer and otc pain reliever Im back in the chair
-
Hope i dont need to get up in the night
-
Sweet dreams.
-
Good night, all.
-
Happy New Year's Eve!!
-
Thanks to all who expressed condolences. The family is taking it pretty well. A visitation is set for Sunday afternoon. A service will be held Monday.
-
DR vixmom: Debra, they don't make as many parts for us of a certain age any longer. The do patch jobs and throw pain meds at us, but we really need to be as careful as possible.
I hope your meds continue to bring you relief. Just remember the meds alleviate some pain, but don't heal...so move very carefully.
-
It is well past my bedtime.
-
Excuse my dust, while I dash off to bed!
-
G'night!
-
Page ten has made its entrance.
-
Page eleven is waiting in the wings.
-
As am I.
-
Lettuce hope for know rabbit holes.
-
Oh, dear. And what is it tonight, I wonder?
-
I wonder as I wander and I wander as I wonder.
-
What is it tonight?
-
Whatever happened to people just staying home?
-
Like me.
-
I'm just staying home.
-
Clearly.
-
And yet...
-
We're having an instant replay.
-
Guess I'll go write some notes.
-

Ahh. There isn't food composting at my condo, either, but my sister is able to put food composting bags in her yard waste bins.

The January Kritzerland show is sold out. So, we may add Saturday night.
Congrats, BK!

Barbara Walters has died :( She was 93.
I just read that, too.
-
Do you know what Barbara Walters, Martin Luther King Jr., and Anne Frank all have in common?
(And it's not a joke. :) )
-
They were all born in 1929! Amazing, isn't it?
-
So at my mom's tonight, we played three games of Phase 10, and I won two of them! :D
-
Notes are written.
-
Last notes of 2022.

No TCB.

Did George just go down a rabbit hole?
-
Listening to Miles Davis.
-
A poet on the trumpet.
-
Now is the time for a hot cross bun.
-
What IS a hot cross bun, anyway?
-
Maybe a time for fish sticks?
-
Does anyone still eat fish sticks?
-
Page eleven has made its entrance.
-
Did George just go down a rabbit hole?

Mrs. Paul's fish sticks. I have memories that restaurants used to have fish sticks on the menu, but I haven't seen such a thing in over fifty years.
-
Have you?
-
Don't Wordle - post.
-
We're talkin' about damn fish sticks here.
-
A topic for the ages.
-
They do exist. It's been a couple of years since I've had some, but certainly not fifty years.
-
My condolences, Ron, on the loss of your cousin-in-law.
-
Don't Wordle - post.
But when we Wordle, we can post the results!
-
And those are posts!
-
Recovery vibes to DR vixmom!
-
Yes, there are a handful of restaurants that still have fish sticks, usually on the kid menu.

There are plenty of frozen fish sticks. Apparently, the ones Costco sells are the best.
-
I may have to buy some frozen fish sticks and some Bob's Big Boy tartar sauce.
-
We must bring back the fish sticks.
-
TCB!
-
We must not let the fish stick wither on the fine.
-
What other foods we used to like have gone the way of the Dodo bird?
-
Speak up!
-
Don't dawdle, Amaryllis.

I may have to buy some frozen fish sticks and some Bob's Big Boy tartar sauce.
Eagan's burger joint here in Tumwater has a tartar sauce-like sauce called "goop" that's really good.
-
I do not understand.
-
Goop?
-
It's like tartar sauce with a bit of mustard.
-
It was invented in 1948...LONG before Gwyneth Paltrow called her website that.
-
PAGE TWELVE DANCE!!

Isn't that something that Gwyneth Paltrow sells?

People come, people go, like Grand Hotel.
-
Tongue? Calves' brains?
-
Isn't that something that Gwyneth Paltrow sells?
It's just the name of her website. I'm sure she's never heard of the tartar sauce-like sauce "goop."
-
I want a Bell Burger - anyone remember those?
-
I want a Bell Burger - anyone remember those?
I've never even heard of that.
-
The Bell Burger went away in the mid-1970s, but returned sporadically as the Bell Beefer in the 80s and 90s. It is rumored for a return in the New Year.
-
Bell Burgers were the taco meat on a bun with grated cheese and mild sauce.
-
I used to like them quite a bit.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
Have you?
Yes, they still sell them.
-
Bob's Big Boy used to have a small shrimp dinner salad with great dressing - would love to have that come back.
-
I may have Bob's next week. I like to go out for meals when I'm writing, usually mid-afternoon after the lunch crowd.
-
Bell Burgers were the taco meat on a bun with grated cheese and mild sauce.
Kind of like sloppy Joe's but taco-flavored? That sounds good.
-

What is it?

Fish sticks for sure.
Mmm...sounds good.

For a while, Eagan's was selling jars of their goop. I wonder if they still are.

I like (but don't love) Fig Newtons.
-
My father's steakhouse sold steak sandwiches on sourdough bread - fantastic - and VERY popular with the lunch crowd.
-
Now I'm hungry, damn it.
-
I did have some popcorn earlier. I don't like popcorn so much anymore.
-
Don't know why.
-
However, I did not like Fig Newmans...Paul Newman's version. They were just too different!
-
I could go to Ralph's and get some fish sticks right the HELL now.
-
But I shan't.
-
I did have some popcorn earlier. I don't like popcorn so much anymore.
We had popcorn at my mom's house tonight.
-
I do have waffles here but who wants waffles at this hour, especially when the syrup is cold.
-
Just had to share. :)
-
Do they still make chicken fricassee whatever that is?
-
I think I would have liked Cherry Newtons.
-
I do have waffles here but who wants waffles at this hour, especially when the syrup is cold.
Do you heat up the syrup in the microwave? My sister does it all the time.
-
Who would have guessed that page fourteen was waiting in the wings?
-
As am I.
-
I think I would have liked Cherry Newtons.
I think I would've too.
-
I'd have to have some kind of microwavable bowl to heat it.
-
Wow! Page Fourteen!
-
I do have waffles here but who wants waffles at this hour, especially when the syrup is cold.
Nuke a small cup of syrup.
-
Page fourteen has made a surprise entrance.
-
Almost to 400 posts!
-
Okay, time to lock this here topic. Hold tight.
-
Well, we're so damn close.

It would be unseemly to lock up before 400.
-
Let's just get there.
-
This should do it.

This has done it.

And then some.
