A very welcome January Thaw is starting early, and we do not complain.

Low 50s now, and it will be in the mid 60s by next Wednesday.

From Singdaw:

I believe that the Christmas episode of All Creatures Great and Small that aired last week was actually the final episode of Season 2, and not an entirely new Christmas special.

Season 2 also had a Christmas special.

But Season Three is coming

We already watched season three, so you did watch the Christmas special out of order, or actually watched the one from season two.

Keith likes diet Dr. Pepper.  I don't care for either the diet or regular but I never thought of it as tasting dusty ;D

Last night, Jane asked, "Do they have the window there waiting to install it?"

Yes!  They did order the part and kept it there, so the only reason that it's not being replaced until next Thursday is because that was the earliest day that a loaner car was available.  I'll bring my car in at 1:15 and take the loaner, then I'll be able to keep the car for up to 24 hours once they call and tell me that the window is fixed, not from when I bring it in. :)

I thought you were driving your sister's car.  Are you back in your own car?  I do realize having a car from them means no one has to drop you off or pick you up.

I guess I'm confused, DR Jane. My public television monthly guide says that season three of the re-vamp of All Creatures Great and Small is coming in January. I know we've watched seasons one and two, and season two ended with a Christmas episode. And season three is supposed to contain the wedding.

Ah, well. It's not important, in the scheme of things.

:(  I awoke this morning to the sad news that my cousin-in-law Rob Mims passed away in the early morning hours.

I had posted earlier that I thought this past Christmas would be his last.  I spent Christmas Eve with family, including Rob, and he was gaunt and obviously in pain, but he was getting shots every four hours for pain.  He put on a brave face of enjoying the gathering, but Debra told me this morning that Christmas Day was a complete nightmare for him, pain-wise.

Apparently, his final 48 hours were in some degree of agony as the pain meds stopped working.  She said he kept calling out for his "Mama" and it broke her heart.

Sadly, my generation of cousins are in our final years.  We have just experienced the losses of our parents over the past four years and now we face the end of our mortality.

Grim, huh?  !!!

Heartbreaking :(   My condolences to you, Debra, and your family.
