Well, you've read the notes, the notes were quite knappered, and now it is time for you to post until the knappered napping cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PIZAZZ!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Oh...BSM. ::) Dopey me!
-
BSFM, dude!
-
Gone Girl, offered me little in the way of surprises and intrigue.
-
On YouTube the video of BSM winning the 2004 Tony features a screenshot of Christopher Walken, nominated for James Joyce’s The Dead. Now there’s a cast album I’ve often wished existed.

Ditto!

Good morning, all!
-
I slept well, and Stella stayed with me most of the night. I have no idea where Annabelle's sleeping these days. She does get around.
-
This morning I must make a run to 38th Street and Broadway to drop off my tax work to my new accountant. I hope Access-a-Ride behaves today.
-
Richard Belzer has died. I liked him on Law & Order.
-
The news that Jimmy Carter is now in hospice saddens me. What a good man he is.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The news that Jimmy Carter is now in hospice saddens me. What a good man he is.
We need more Jimmy Carters in the world. And fewer MTGs.
-
DR Rodzinski, I would be terribly unhappy if I had to celebrate presidential family members like Fancy Nancy, Ivanka, Donald Jr. and Jenna.

Wordle 4, Phoodle 3
-
OMG! Access-a-Ride is ten minutes early, and I am not ready yet. I suspect it'd because of the holiday, but I am not amused. No, not at all amused.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Shen Yun is created by the followers of the religion Falun Gong. I forget now who asked that yesterday. Was it you, DR Rodzinski?
So, does the ad in your bathroom face the toilet?
-
Ride vibes for Elmore.
-
There was a limited CD issued of James Joyce's The Dead, but it was not a NY production, as I recall.

Good stuff.

Was Stephen Spinella in that, I think?
-
The cobwebs of my mind...
-
Twelve British composers, including Lord Lloyd-Webber, have been commissioned to write anthems or other music for King Charles's coronation on Saturday May 6th.
-
We are exepcting between 1 and 2 feet of snow later in the week. This may wreak havoc with Ash Wednesday service plans.

And I don't mean June Havoc.

My name's June...

What's yours?

Mass exodus because of floods.....I'll see you all later from my seaside home here in Indiana!
-
Good morning
-
It has been a lovely leisurely morning
-
I of course like BSM in most anything - but I really enjoy listening to the Man of La Mancha OBC.
-
I do love three day weekends
-
TOD:
I don't think about them.
-
Slept until 830
-
Then laid about until Vixdad woke at 930
-
Yes DR JANE - Saturday was the Celebration of Life and Sunday was the visitation.....it was not my favorite weekend to be sure.
-
Getting to the tax man and HOME vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Then made a nice breakfast of sausage, grilled tomatoes, eggs over easy and toast with a piping hot pot of tea
-
Now relaxing and resting my tummy while sipping a second mug of tea
-
Last night I went to Lidl with my second $10 off $30 coupon
-
They were selling ground Turkey at $2.18 a pound , on special from $4.99 a pound
-
Also had onions and cocktail tomatoes on sale.
-
And pints of Cherry Garcia for $2.99
-
1/2 gallon of milk 84 cents
-
Getting to my destination of 38th Street and Broadway was easy. I checked out the location, accessibility, and gave the receptionist my envelope of receipts and 1099s. I had to wait about 10 minutes for ataxi to come along to take me home. The trip cost me $35! In future, I will use Access-a-Ride for both trips to and from.
-
Now that I'm home, I will return to my ballet work.
-
Whole grain stone milled wheat bread $2.50
-
And some canned goods I needed
-
I ended up with a bill of $30.32 which became $20.32 after my coupon
-
Very satisfying
-
I made turkey chili last night
-
John would not approve
-
I added black beans, red beans and white beans
-
But Vixdad likes the beans
-
It came out very nicely, actually
-
And there’s plenty left for the next couple of days
-
And chili is always better when it’s had a chance to sit and meld flavors overnight
-
Last night I was flipping through channels and stumbled across “The Last of Us” which was just beginning episode 1
-
I’ve heard a lot about it but shied away since I hate zombie based stories
-
But I had been assured by friends that zombies were not the main part of the story
-
So I gave it a shot
-
We ended up watching the first 5 episodes
-
Also yesterday afternoon I watched “everything, everywhere all at once”
-
It felt like being in some drugged induced state
-
I am not sure why it is being considered Oscar worthy
-
Although I did enjoy Jamie Lee Curtis’ performance
-
I laughed out loud when I read Rodzinski’s Shen Yun poster post

Turkey chili is fine. As long as there is no sugar in it. And beans.
-
There was no sugar.
-
I knew you wouldn’t approve of the beans
-
I added black beans, red beans and white beans
Nope. Not for this Texan.
-
I don’t really approve of them either
-
But it makes Vixdad happy
-
I do like a happy Vixdad
-
A Happy Vixdad. It’s the name of my next novel.
-
That's quite a haul, DR vixmom, and for a very reasonable price.
-
How does piping hot compare with cigaretting hot, I wonder?
-
I love beans in chili.
-
It that makes it not chili, so be it.
-
I am roasting root vegetables.
-
On page Four.
-
It is snowing here now, but not like it will be in a few days.
-
Still can't post any pictures here.

The folder is full.

As opposed to Mrs. Hubbard's cupboard.

Which is not.
-
Good morning, all.
Just under the wire!
-
Full, I mean.
-
DR ChasSmith is doing the limbo!
-
How LOW can you GO?
-
Shen Yun is created by the followers of the religion Falun Gong. I forget now who asked that yesterday. Was it you, DR Rodzinski?
So, does the ad in your bathroom face the toilet?
'Twas I who asked about the religion. I've never heard of Falun Gong. :-\
-
DR Rodzinski, I forgot Jack Cassidy was in He & She.
-
From DR George:
I was so distraught over the possible flooding in town that I couldn't think of anything to post! :-\
Vibes the flooding doesn't happen.
-
From George:
Okay, I was going through videos on my phone and just lost track of time. ::)

-
From George:
Well, it turns out that high waters aren't just for Olympia residents: Rising sea levels could lead to ‘mass exodus on a biblical scale’, UN warns.
Oh no. Then we are all screwed.

Gone Girl, offered me little in the way of surprises and intrigue.
I seem to be one of the few people who did not like it.

Thanks for the link, John. I've always loved REMEMBER WENN, and have enjoyed his novels. I'm definitely going to read this one. However, I didn't know that he lost his daughter.
-
Vixmom asked if Nathan would sit in the saddle at Texas Roadhouse.
Not this time, because we did takeout. At the beginning of the pandemic we immediately switched to takeout for our restaurant meals, and we ended up liking the birthday and holiday ones at home so much that we've continued the practice and are still enjoying those.
-
I had the Road Kill, and I think it's one of the greatest things.
-
Vixmom: Pardon me if I've asked this before, but how do you make your grilled tomatoes?
And what is a good sausage of the English breakfast variety?
-
I added black beans, red beans and white beans
Nope. Not for this Texan.
My sister's vegan chili had two different kinds of beans, but I forget which kinds.
-
From DR George:
I was so distraught over the possible flooding in town that I couldn't think of anything to post! :-\
Vibes the flooding doesn't happen.
Thanks, Jane!
-
I'm up, I'm up - I guess. Four and a half hours of sleep. But for the past ninety minutes I've been forwarding orders. Complicated because for whatever reason many are coming through to MacMail very wonky, so I have to go to AOL itself, and then cut and paste from there. But all the orders from last September and October are forwarded and from there there maybe are twenty more I'll get to after a while.

Another earthquake has hit the same area of Turkey-Syria.

Yes, thanks John. And thank you George for commenting, or I would have forgotten to open the link.

I loved Remember Wenn but have not read any of his books.

That is nice you found a new way of enjoying celebrations.
-
Another earthquake has hit the same area of Turkey-Syria.
I read the headline when I turned on my computer, and wasn't ready yet to read the details.
-
After reading Gone Girl I didn't want to see the movie. I think we did anyway as Keith wanted to see it. To be sure, I just asked him if we saw the movie. To jog his memory he watched the trailer. He still isn't sure only now he wants to watch it.
-
Oh no, why did I ask him ;D
-
I do remember, after reading the novel, I did not want to watch Girl on a Train. Fortunately he was ready to turn the movie off after about 15 minutes.
-
Two tacos from La Fogata - very good. They included a card saying you save 10% if you have them deliver - I had no idea they did, so I'll try that next time.
-
I am reading about Biden's secret trip to Kyiv. I find the details interesting, including the fact Russia was informed just before his plane took off.
-
Fun fact, the air-raid phone alarms are voiced by Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker urging people to take cover, warning: “Don’t be careless. Your overconfidence is your weakness.”
-
When the alarms are over, Luke Skywalker says "“The air alert is over." May the force be with you.”.

Doug sent me the digitized score of No. 1 and it looks pretty good. I did my usual number of screw ups - putting the tuba part in the drums, half of the harp in piano, all that nonsense.
-
For chili?
No.... just to eat with dinners.
-
How To Succeed has landed in the Midwest. Hoping that will silence the Internet nitpickers.
-
Groceries have been procured. So IF we get hit with 2 feet of snow, I won't have to worry about food for a while.
-
Prayers and ~~~VIBES~~~ that DR George, DR TCB, and their fellow citizens do not experience catastrophic flooding.
-
Thinking also of the poor people of Turkey. It's just too much.

Sounds like some merry musical mixups. I’d love to hear those tuba drum notes.

Hello friends, new and old.
My identity has been stolen. I got a bill for $9k from a collection agency for an apartment somebody rented using my info. In North Carolina, a place I have not lived. So now I'm jumping through all the hoops, when here I was, minding my own business. One of the credit reporting agencies has already responded to my dispute that it IS my debt, because the collection agency says so! So now I await a police report I filed, and I have to offer proof I did not live in North Carolina. So dealing with this is like my part time job now.
-
DR Rodzinski, I forgot Jack Cassidy was in He & She.
He was quite kooky in it, and apparently they basically openly re-worked his character into Ted Baxter for the Mary Tyler Moore show a few years later.
-
Thanks for the Rupert Holmes interview, DR John G.
I believe he has blurbed BK's books in the past.
Another great Rupert story: A community theatre (St. Bart's) in Manhattan was doing Drood a few years back and my friends in the show said on the second weekend Rupert showed up, then he rented a hotel lounge out and paid for a catered party there for the whole cast and crew.
-
DR Elmore, when they arrive early, do they wait for you a certain amount of time?

I am so sorry. Vibes you can get this sorted out and other charges won't popped up. What is involved in proving you didn't live there? I know you can prove where you actually lived. Is that enough?
-
DR Rodzinski, I’m sorry to read about your identity theft situation.
What a nightmare.
-
Was that production of Drood the one where Sharon had the lead role?
Speaking of which, Sharon told me that she thought you were currently living in North Carolina!
Will ask her for information.
-
Rupert Holmes refers to BK as the West Coast Rupert.
We had a nice chat years ago at the now shuttered Barnes and Noble near Lincoln Center.
-
There’s a great video on YouTube of Rupert singing Beef Lo Mein at Kritzerland at Sterling’s.
-
DR Jane, I love that Mark Hamill is the voice of Ukraine’s air raid alerts!
😊
-
I think it is super cool :)
-
Horrible, DR Rodzinski.
-
How do you prove a negative?

That is crazy-making.

Six.

That scares me because someone in North Carolina is/was pretending to be me. An address even showed up on my credit reports. Hope that's just a weird coincidence that she thought that. I was living in Delaware.
Oddly enough, Drood with Sharon is the first show I ever saw at St. Jean's back in 1996 or so. This St. Bart's Drood happened a few years later.

They ask for a bill from the time this apartment was rented, which was in 2021. So have to find one, with the problem being my wife's name is on the majority of our bills, and we since moved west! But we have an insurance bill with my name on it from the Delaware house. I don't know what else. If it comes to it, an affidavit from my wife that indeed I did not move to, visit, or fund anyone else living in North Carolina at any point.

The problem is with the credit companies - they just assume you're lying and that is completely and utterly WRONG. They know all about identity theft, they deal with it every day, and so the assumption should always be that the person reporting it is the VICTIM and not the perp. I'd sue the mofos. They can just as easily go after whoever did this - they have an address, for heaven's sake and so can the cops.

I started out to make a pot of Mercimek, but I didn’t have all the ingredients on hand and I couldn’t find my red lentils, so the whole thing became something else entirely.
-
I didn’t have a potato, but I had a sweet potato. And green lentils instead of red. So, instead of a bright yellow color, it’s kind of dark brown. It’s also very thick, more liked a mashed vegetable side dish.
-
But it does have paprika in it.
-
And it tastes really good.
-
I may thin it a little with some extra veggie stock.
-
Just realized it’s perfectly vegan.

You got that right, brother. It's comical that I have to go through the work of proving anything. I did phone a lawyer today to see about a consult.
-
Barbara Bosson has died. I always liked her on Hill Street Blues and even Cop Rock. She worked in many of her then-husband’s shows, but her work was her own. And she was often excellent.

Watched another Brokenwood tonight. Fine, but not great.
-
Using the ice now. I really dislike this.

Good night, all.

Vixmom: Pardon me if I've asked this before, but how do you make your grilled tomatoes?
And what is a good sausage of the English breakfast variety?
I halve the tomatoes (around the equator, not through the poles) then cut a little star in the midgle cuttng though the tough little white bit in the middle.
Vuxdad likes worstershire sauce on his so i put some of that on his, i prefer a sprinkle of Penzey's Foxpoint on mine.
Then I put them on a tray in the toaster oven on 500F until they go soft (times very drpending on size of tomato)
As far as british sausages, around late February, early March you can generally find Irish bangers at Trader Joe's or Costco.
If we're in Florida the Kissimmee Publix carries British bangers year round.
Sometimes Vixdad will pop down to Myers of Keswick in NYC to get Bangers.
In lieu of the above we'll settle for regular old Johnsoville original recipe breakfast sausage links, although Ive been substituting Aldi brand and this week Lidl brand, both at half the price of Johnsonville and Vixdad never noticed the difference
( he has a much more discerning palate than I since i petmanently destroyed so many taste buds during my radiation treatments lo those many years ago)

I had the Road Kill, and I think it's one of the greatest things.

Oh no! That happened to me in 2020, but fortunately was limited to someone claiming unemployment benefits in my name. I discovered it because the scammer opened a bank account in my name and unemployment mailed the debit card to access the unemployment funds deposited therein to my home address.

I watched the first six episodes of The Last of Us betwern yesterday and today
-
I started watching it by accident
-
I had no interest in seeing it since I heard it was based on a video game and it involved.
-
I was flipping through the channels and chanced upon episode one just as it was starting, but after the titles were shown, so I wasn't aware of what I was watching.
I ended up being drawn in before i realized it .
-
They were running all six of the released episodes back to back and we ended up watching the first four before going yo bed

I watchexd 5 & 6 on demand today.

Much to my surprise, I recommend it.

Washington state ditched Columbus Day (as a holiday for state workers) for the day after Thanksgiving.

Finished with my viewing.

Actually watched a Blu-ray - I'm sick and tired of trying to find anything to watch on the damn Firestick.

It's an episode from 2021 where they revisit appraisals from 2006 and revalue them.

Some items have increased in value.
-
Some values stayed the same.
-
And some items decreased in value.

Of course. ::)

I always wonder...for the items that are the same value 15-20 years later, doesn't that really mean that they actually decreased in value because of inflation?
-
They never talk about that.
