Well, you've read the notes, the notes were weird and nothing, and now it is time for you to post until the weird and nothing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PREROGATIVE!
-
And a very happy haineshisway.com birthday to our own every now and then dear reader Matthew.

Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well, with two interruptions. The first came at 9:22, not long after I had turned off the lights and dozed for a bit. It was my neighbor Judy, a good lady but she's a complete pain some days. I let the phone ring, and when it stopped, the land line rang and the answering machine picked up. I had to listen to my message and then hers. Yes, it was Judy trying the other line. The reason for the phone call? Did I know one of the lenants in the building
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I can't post a photo of a birthday cake for DR Matthew because the HHW upload folder is full.
-
But happy birthday, DR Matthew!
-
The second interruption? Manic cats Stella and Thatch around 4am, playing tag, leaping all over my bed and me, and playing in the two Amazon cartons I left on the floor for them to play in.
-
I can't post a photo of a birthday cake for DR Matthew because the HHW upload folder is full.
What the fat hell is going on with that, BK?
-
Tomorrow I must make a trek to East 77th Street, and today I would like to finish No. 3 in the ballet and move on to No. 4. I will call Joshie at some point and hear how the Dear World orchestra reading went yesterday.
-
Forgot to mention that I really enjoyed the The Mind of the Cat documentary, DR elmore3003. Thanks for the heads up.

Extra chunky peanut butter?

Next you'll be telling me that they sell pre-sliced bread.

Happy birthday, Matthew! How will you and the dogs celebrate?

I have also disliked every film of Anna Karenina, because they don’t get Anna.

Because they didn't interpolate the song "We Got Annie."

Good morning, all.

Happy Birthday, DR Matthew!

Vixmom, I'm in agreement re getting the appropriate thing at a restaurant, i.e., steak at a steakhouse. But this thing is so delicious, and so satisfying, and it is indeed steak, that for me it qualifies as an occasional treat.
-
It is Indeed Steak should indeed be the title of something-or-other.
-
One could not ask, "What is it, fish?" in that case.
-
Because it wouldn't be fish.
-
It would indeed be steak.
-
Two.
-
Glad we could clear that up.
-
What is it, steak?

Today I'm back to carrying the banner!

I neglected to say earlier that I was horrified to read of DR Rodzinski's experience.
That's a nightmarish cloud potentially threatening every one of us, and I know I can't even imagine the hell it must be, navigating those waters...and most likely having to pay for the privilege of proving you are you. What a horrible situation, as BK points out, with all of the parties involved ASSUMING the victim is lying. It's disgusting.
-
Three!
-
Where did everyone go?
-
Hello, 0 guests!
-
As DR John G. so kindly pointed out, it's Fat Tuesday.
-
So where are my pancakes?

I ask you.
-
And the side of bacon seems to be missing, as well.
-
I'm filing a Paypal dispute.
-
Laissez les gras temps rouler.
-
Heating up my soup. I hope it’s actually hot.
-
The office microwave is iffy at best.
-
I’m really enjoying The Bullet That Missed, the third of The Thursday Murder Club series. Liking it much more than the second.
-

Thank you DR ChasSmith, and others who have expressed support. It's sort of my worst nightmare and keeping me awake at night. I keep reminding myself, I don't owe this, I did nothing wrong, but it's still frustrating. I just need my police report so I can start sending more detailed dispute letters out and so forth...

Do you know who the rental.agent or landlord is? It woukd surprising if they didnt take a photo ID.
Id ask them about that

Happy birthday DR Matthew
-
From The Bullet That Missed: Joyce has determined that a male character is heterosexual because he has the DVD of Top Gun on his shelf.
-
DR Rodzinsky, I think talking to a lawyer that specialized in identify theft is a good idea. I also think it is terrible you need to do this.
-
From George:
Washington state ditched Columbus Day (as a holiday for state workers) for the day after Thanksgiving.
I forgot about this excellent change.

We have a very early eye appointments this morning.
-
Now, not only to I want to go back to sleep but my eyes have been dilated making me extra tired.

I too am horrified by DR RODZINSKI's experience.
-
Slow news day at HHW.
-
Excitement for the day:
I was watching television and heard a ruckus in the computer room....lots of carrying on and wing flapping.
I looked in and Birdy Priscilla had decided to go on the lam outside the cage. I must have left the cage door open when I put in fresh food and water this morning.
I closed the door to the room and watched her fly around and holler a bit. She kept crashing into the window as if she wanted to go outside.
Once she landed on top of the cage, I dropped a handkerchief over her and put her back in the slammer. Closed the door.....like it was end of a Dragnet episode....
She seems none the worse for wear.
-
That is quite exciting, DR Jrand72. Glad that DB Priscilla wasn't hurt.
-
Book 'em, Danno.
-
Out of rehearsal, and I’ve decided to go on over and enjoy THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR - which I believe I have not seen since .. oh, no idea really - but not since I lived in California.
-
It feels less invasive. We’ll see.
Good vibes it makes you more comfortable and less stiff.
-
May you have the least invasive hand in all the land.
I can make the joke thst with physical therapy, I’m getting a weekly hand job. Do I say that weekly?
;D
-
DR Jrand, oh my. I am glad all ended well.
-
Our DR Rodzinski has been living one of my worst nightmares. In the 1990s I used to get calls from a collection agency claiming I owed money for something, student loans maybe? I'd explain I wasn't the person they were hunting down, and the a year later go through the whole nonsense again. This went on for several years and finally stopped.

Keith just complained his eyes are still dilated (he really hates how it feels). I was about to complain to him my eyes were still bothering me and my head still hurt from the strain.
-
It was his first time at the ophthalmologist I switched to last year. We both like him very much.
-
Keith doesn't need to return for two years. I have to go next year.

Quite a few years ago, a former co-worker got a call on her personal cell phone (supposedly from the local sheriff) saying that if she didn't pay something like $1200 THAT DAY, she would be arrested!
-
She was very upset, but yelled at them to come and arrest her, and then hung up. Even though she knew it was totally a scam, it took her a while to calm down. :-\
-
DR Jeanne, we talked about eye plugs. If my insurance covers it I will likely try them after we return from Japan. He said his success rate is about 70%. They are easy, a quick 15 minutes, to put in, and easily removed if I don't tolerate them.

Hello, everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DR MATTHEW!!
-
DR Rodzinski, add my vibes to your collection. It's so galling to have someone steal your identity.
I enrolled in identity theft protection with my Discover card for $15/mo in case something like this happens to me. Fortunately, I've only experience garden-variety credit card number theft. That is relatively easy to resolve, but still very annoying!
I hope your case is resolved successfully -- and soon!

Let me know how you like them. You're used to contacts so maybe they won't bother you. I was never able to wear contacts successfully.

LOL, the first contacts I was able to tolerate were the ones I was using for a couple of years before my dry eye problem got this bad. NowI rarely use them. I am going to try and use them on our trip as the non perscription sunglasses are more comfortable, and more flattering for photos.
-
I don't see as well to read when I wear my contacts. When I am sightseeing all day I don't really need to read much.

Is that for all identity theft, not just your credit card?
I believe it's designed for the stuff that Rodzinski is encountering. I don't need it for my credit cards; I just ask for a new one and we delete the phony charges. In theory at least they have personnel who are familiar with what needs to be done and they walk you through it. I have not needed it so far.

Flipsnack. Does that mean the program book is edible?
-
Glad you like your new ophthalmologist. It's an important specialty.
It is. When moving to a new area I usually begin with an optometrist and eventually switch to an ophthalmologist. As a child we went to an ophthalmologist as my father's friend was well known for some surgery he preformed. I also had to see specialist for the weak muscle in my right eye.
-
Funny though, in Michigan I started with an ophthalmologist and switched to an optometrist.

I received an email with a request to sign a petition. It was so crazy I had to do research to find out if the story was true. An 85 year old woman, along with another woman, were arrested and convicted of trespassing. Their crime, feeding starving cats as well as trapping them for spay/neuter and release elsewhere.

After our appointments we went to Trader Joe's. I should have gotten a piece of fruit to go with the protein bar I ate on the way there.

Happy Birthday DR Matthew!

Thanks again all well wishers for my identity troubles. I did get a report today from “Chex.” Not the cereal, but another place you have to lock down besides the credit bureaus. The report didn’t have anything odd, no weird checking accounts found, so that was good. I await my police report, then I can respond in force to the collection agency. Yes, as someone mentioned, I’d like to see what ID was used by the apt complex to “confirm” my fake identity. I’d like to think they don’t have a photo ID, but how many times do you go to a doctor and they run off a copy of your license? So who knows?

So great seeing The Thomas Crown Affair again, and in a great theater. I’d forgotten a lot about it. But McQueen and Dunaway, and that Michel Legrand score…… wow.
