Well, you've read the notes, the notes were on Spectrum Savings Time, and now it is time for you to post until the timed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PAWKINESS!

Wasn't Michelle PAWKINESS a Broadway actress? 8)
-
Good morning, friends.
-
~~~SAFE AND EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for the family Rodzinski!!!!!!
Here's a kitten with a turtle, just because.
~~~MAJOR HUGE & LARGE MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes of BK!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to Stephen J. Sondheim and Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept so well last night that I slept in for an extra hour with Thatch and Annabelle. I had several dreams, one involved with a fire in my bookcases and a script for Bernstein's Candide. Then I was having a very strange dream involving, I think, a fast food-soda shop, a truck, and a pretty blonde lady in dark slacks and a blue T-shirt.
-
This morning I must go to Staples and scan three ballet numbers 8, 9, 10. I then must tackle the freezer in my refrigerator and make room for tomorrow's Amazon Fresh delivery.
-
Good morning, all.

My thoughts exactly.

I heard from Concord Theatricals:
Yes, this is likely an automatic action that Universal, our distributor, takes to make sure the master recordings are monetized.
My problem with Soundcloud is that there is no way to communicate with them; it's a strictly yes or no answer to their questions. So, I think I may limit what's on my page there.

Been in a Meadowlark mood lately. Here’s Alice Ripley with a live version that includes the material before what we usually hear.

I read that quote elsewhere. It really sums it up.

I read a lot of stuff my parents wouldn’t let me or didn’t know I read.
-
Good morning.
-
I remember reading The Exorcist in seventh or eighth grade, a big no-no in a Lutheran school. That time I didn’t get reported, but the teacher told me not to share it or show it off.
-
Hi, Laura!
-
I slept so well last night that I slept in for an extra hour with Thatch and Annabelle.
So that's where my sleep went this morning. I woke up about 3 a.m.
-
I never used to have spring allergies. Somehow, in the past few years, that changed.
-
Hi John!
-
I have nothing to report, except that I did a lot of cooking yesterday. I cooked down a box of tomatoes into sauce, and I roasted a turkey that was 49 center per pound.
-
And, no, I don't plan on serving them together.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I have little or nothing to report, either. But here I am. In all my glory.
-
I’m basically over my cold, but I still have a bit of congestion and am taking it easy.
-
That's good, DR ChasSmith.
-
I have a fear of elevators.

I take steps to avoid them.

Laugh? I thought I'd split my sides...
-
A groggy good morning to ye!
-
I have been suffering from my worst bout of sinus congestion EVER!
I go through a box of tissues every other day. What fills in the gaps is too revolting to discuss in polite society.
I won't mention it here, either.
-
I have been remiss. Oh, yes! REMISS about posting, that is. It's not that I don't think of you all or wonder what the going concerns are, but I do follow a few of you on Facebook and read your comments there. It gives me a sense of how you all are but not a sense of what's happening on this here blog!
-
My thoughts on the Oscar show:
Much better this year than in the past several years.
I still have issues with the Memoriam segment: To wit, it's about the dearly departed, NOT the on-stage talent. If you are in the auditorium, you can look wherever you like, but you still see the faces and names. At home, it does not work that way. Cuts to the artist, or long shots of the stage, deprive home viewers of seeing all who are being remembered. I have no idea what Lenny Kravitz has to do with remembering the dearly departed; I have no idea why any of that segment had to be about him.
My favorite moment was the Ke Huy Quan win for supporting actor. He was so very excited and overjoyed. It's nice to see that.
My two favorites for actor were Fraser and Butler. Am delighted for Fraser. Would also have been for Butler, but...I have enjoyed Fraser's career much longer, and I always felt he was cheated out of a nomination for "Gods and Monsters". He deserved a supporting actor nomination for that film.
Kimmel's monologue was pretty good. The comments about Robert Blake should not have happened.
The best song performances were horrible, to my ears. Just a cacophony of nothingness. That includes Lady Gaga's wailings.
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!
-
All y'all...please have a great day!
-
And one more for the road!
-
My aunt has been released from the hospital to home; my mother is the primary caregiver.
They have both tested positive for Covid.
Yikes. Vibes for them both.
-
Good to see you, Ron.
-
I have nothing to report, except that I did a lot of cooking yesterday. I cooked down a box of tomatoes into sauce, and I roasted a turkey that was 49 center per pound.
You can make Hot Browns with that turkey. Drooling at the thought.

~~~SUPER DITTO!!~~~
Thanks for the thoughts, folks!
-
Wouldn't lavender and lemon make a great combination?
-
Good to see ya, DR Ron Pulliam!
-
It's always a relief to be seen!
"Hot browns"? Qu'est-ce que cest?
-
Traditionally, an open-faced turkey sandwich with bacon and a Mornay sauce.
-
Not "Morn, eh?"
-
Although one could eat one for breakfast, I suppose.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I think all the Hainsies and Kimlets wholeheartedly agree with your comments about the "In Memoriam" segment.
-
I got back from Staples to deal with several calls and emails. I can now relax a bit.
-
Along with the usual controversy over who was omitted from screentime.
A "very large" new spider species has been discovered in Australia.
DR vixmom will not be booking tickets.
Relaxing vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Major miracle vibes for MR BK.
-
Getting home vibes for DR RODZINSKI & Co.
-
MR BK is going to see an act tonight!
I hope the singer is in good voice!
-
I agree with DR RON PULLIAM about Brendan Fraser.
Last night as I was flipping through the guide.....SCHOOL TIES came up....so I watched it. I haven't seen it in many years....MANY YEARS.
He was very good and Mr. Matt Damon was also very good as the villain of the piece. A lot of young actors who went on to good careers are on display and it is a good movie with a nice sense of the period.
-
It is a gray and gloomy day here.
-
I also started to watch on my FREE THIS WEEK SHOWTIME - The Twelfth Victim.....a six part documentary that is going to try to convince me that Caril Fugate did NOT participate in the crimes of Charles Starkweather.
I don't think that can be done.
-
Same here DR singdaw - but that's okay.
-
Thanks for the recommendation, DR Jrand72. I'd like to give that one a look-see again. As you said, it has been MANY years.
-
I am preparing some eye of round steaks....for today and tomorrow....unless I get really hungry.
-
My Question For ASK BK Day:
Did you ever audition for Mr. Jack Webb?
-
There was an episode of ADAM-12 on yesterday that you would have been perfect for.....except he ended up dead....in a very lame car crash.....in Beaver Cleaver's neighborhood.
-
FOUR!
-
You must have run out of cheeseburgers, DR Jrand72.
-
Or - they were all swiped by the Hamburglar.
-
Bruce, I am glad your old phone didn't have a SIM card. Fortunately, before I purchased my new phone, Keith's cousin backed up my info for me making the transfer easy.
-
From DR Rodzinski:
Awaiting boarding flight from Papeete to Los Angeles.
I remember taking that flight. I was extremely sunburned from our trip and in pain. Otherwise the flight went well. I hope your flight was easy.
SAFE & EASY TRAVELS HOME FOR RODZINSKI & FAMILY!
Here's a kitten with a turtle, just because.
Because it is cute.
I read that quote elsewhere. It really sums it up.
In theory I agree. At the same time I feel books in school libraries, especially elementary school, should be age appropriate.
-
I read a lot of stuff my parents wouldn’t let me or didn’t know I read.
In elementary school? Did you check out the books at the school library?
-
I remember reading The Exorcist in seventh or eighth grade, a big no-no in a Lutheran school. That time I didn’t get reported, but the teacher told me not to share it or show it off.
Obviously not from the school library ;D
-
I never used to have spring allergies. Somehow, in the past few years, that changed.
I was once told moving to Arizona would not help with my allergies as too many non native trees and plants are there now.
I take steps to avoid them.
LOL, so do I.
A next-door neighbor loaned me a bunch of books that I was ready to read but would have been considered adult: Exorcist, The Godfather, Summer of 42. I hid them from my parents. And I did return them.
A Louisville treat. Turkey over toast or biscuits, tomato slices, bacon and a Mornay sauce.
It comes from the Brown Hotel in downtown Louisville. This is the spot where Daisy met Jay Gatsby.
Interesting article, DR John G. Thanks for sharing it.
You’re welcome. If anyone can’t read it, I can email you a gift copy. Just message me your email.
I waited until there wasn't much food left in the frig to clean it, and for my shoulder pain to subside a bit. I am glad that job is done.
So very close.
First email of the day: ATT telling me my wireless bill, which is not due until the 5th of the month, is ready. Apparently they haven't gotten the memo so tomorrow, once the landline is ported over, they will get a call from me and I will not get off the phone until they email me that both lines are no longer with ATT and tell me exactly how much money I will be refunded and when that will arrive.
-
When I was a teenager, no one seemed to care what I was reading: Peyton Place, Anatomy of a Murder, Lady Chatterley's Lover, which bored me to tears when I could understand that gamekeeper's accent.
Beethoven's Hair!
This is very similar to a near curse that I would often use in Jr. High which was: Beethoven's Butt!
Which made everyone laugh except my music teacher.
-
Well I watched another episode and one half of The Twelfth Victim and I am unconvinced about Caril Ann Fugate's version of events.....even though there are many folks pleading her case in the documentary....
-
Fax is Fax.
Which made everyone laugh except my music teacher.
Beethoven did write a lot of big ClASSical music.
There must be SOME fun to be had!
You can't tell me that the people attending the PCPH aren't having fun!
FUN is overrated, anyhow.
We don't need no stinkin' FUN.
Six.
The article ends thusly:
While always rough to come in near the bottom of any rankings, Hoosiers can take solace in knowing that Kentucky, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Alabama, Vermont, Arkansas, Rhode Island, Delaware, Mississippi and West Virginia offer even less fun than Indiana.
Just the new Balanchine bio from the library. It’s more than 600 pages.
I think that’s three times the size of the other Balanchine bio I’ve read.
DR John, when you went to Greece were you able to fill out all the entry info on an app to speed the process once you arrived?
We have a visit Japan app. Now all we need to do is put the bar codes from our phones on three different screens as we go through the different sections.
I did on the way back. Can’t remember going.
I am getting excited about your trip DR JANE!
I anticipate many lovely photos.
I guess we need to create more fun for our fellow citizens DR JOHN G.
So, someone tweeted this article:
Finally heard something from Amazon - we have to fix something in episode one - they didn't say anything about the other episodes so hopefully this is IT. There's a faux commercial in episode one and we have a faux URL on screen for the product - we actually own the URL but they don't allow any URLs in videos, although I guarantee you they have them in movies - I'm sure they think it's real but you can't argue with them - there's no way to have a conversation, so I'm making a small adjustment removing the URL, not a huge deal, then we'll resubmit that episode. We have to also adjust the close captions for that one bit, too.
HAHAH DR GEORGE!
-
For Monday night's game, Luka Garza was sitting on the bench wearing a sweatshirt and black jeans....I figured that meant he wasn't playing.
We shall see what happens tonight.
Interesting.
-
I'm so sick of this whole media thing with the indictment. They all just need to shut the HELL up at this point and when something actually happens, THEN talk about it. First Trump says Tuesday he's being arrested - that was pure Trumpian PR BS and a way to bilk his idiot supporters for more money, Of course it didn't happen because of course it was all PR BS grift.
I am trying not to get excited. We have to get there first.
I hope the Cherry blossoms are in full bloom for us. They are supposed to be.
I am also very worried about getting covid. If that happens we can't get on the ship.
I can now say that I've watched The Hours (the opera).
I liked it quite a bit.
-
I've never read Mrs. Dalloway, nor the novel The Hours, nor seen the movie, so my perspective on the material is quite limited.
Kelli O'Hara held her own on the stage with the other singers.
Christine Baranski was a plucky host of the broadcast.
Video portion of the faux commercial is fixed and fine. Now Sami has to record a short replacement line to go over the swapped out shot and that will be that.
Someone posted in the new book thread on Facebook - some old Jack in the Box commercial. I couldn't imagine why someone would post the clown being blown up - I vaguely remember when they did that in their commercials but was it some veiled thing about me? Then I watched it :)
Better in the box!
Did you have any memory of doing that?
The Rodzinskis have returned to their home, thanks to many fine wishes here!
I can now say that I've watched The Hours (the opera).
Thanks for the notes. I do want to watch it. I reread Mrs. Dalloway earlier this year. And I read The Hours about 25 years ago.
Just finished Gender Queer. Don’t see why someone being honest about eir life (yes, that is the chosen pronoun) makes other people so uncomfortable and outraged.
I just didn’t care for the graphic format. OK, I don’t like them. I’m too old.
Re: Brendan Fraser
Another film you just don't read or hear about is "Mrs. Winterbourne". Fraser plays twin brothers in this film, and he is quite charming throughout. It "stars" Shirley MacLaine as Fraser's mother, but the story is about Ricki Lake's character who is "mistaken" for the wife of one of the brothers (who gets killed in a train crash along with his real wife but in which Lake's character survives. She is mistaken for the brother's wife because she was wearing that lady's wedding ring when the train crashed).
It has a charming score by Patrick Doyle, too.
-
The day has seemed rather lengthy to me. I went nowhere but to the post office. I did nought all day.
I feel only a scintilla of remorse over my efforts. A wee scintilla. Microscopic, in fact.
-
Hello
-
I still have nothing to report
-
Hope your day was more eventful than mine
-
Good night
-
Hope your day was more eventful than mine
Sadly, my day was quite uneventful...other than getting a Subway sandwich that was so good.
-
How good was it?
-
It was so good that I ate the whole thing at lunchtime instead of taking home half for dinner! :D
-
FYI: it was "The Boss."
-
Gratuitous Post #222!
No memory at all of doing that commercial, but watching it I can see we're not actually taking a bite and I DO remember it was because it was all sprayed with chemicals to make it look good and was not edible.
-
It's only the second time that I've gotten it.
-
I did enjoy it the first time, too.
-
I'm just starting the notes. Feel free to take us to page nine.
-
The main reason that I don't get it on a regular basis is the cost.
-
The regular footlong is normally $13.69. :o
-
My usual sub is only $7.69.
-
I usually get the Ham and Egg Breakfast sub.
-
I really like it, I can get all the toppings I want, AND the footlong is only $7.69!
-
And to me, those are some darned good reasons.
-
:)
-
The other thing that I did tonight was to frame my two Doug Johnson window cards!
-
Here's Big River, in what was called a "floating frame":
-
There's no mat behind the picture.
-
You can see the wall behind.
-
Fortunately, the colors of the window card kind of match the color on my wall.
-
PAGE NINE NINE: THE MUSICAL DANCE!!
(https://broadwaymusicalhome.com/images/alt/nine.jpg)
-
And here is the window card from a tour of Ain't Misbehavin':
-
This one does have a black background.
-
I want a Subway sandwich NOW
-
I just do.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
All I've had all day is a sandwich and strawberry cheesecake.
-
That's it.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I'm so hungry I could EAT them.
