Well, you've read the notes, the notes were gaily colored, and now it is time for you to post until the gaily colored cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AUSPICIOUS!
-
Notes studied. Reified.
-
Happy East-o!
-
Chicken In A Biskit, a rare treat for young Rodzinski.
One of this products that has scarcely ever been advertised, yet lives on through the ages.
-
Just watched a doc on YouTube called Jobriath A.D.
Exploring the life, incredible hype, and swift disaster of the openly gay glam rocker, Jobriath. Often in his story, his Svengali, the promoter Jerry Brandt, gets blamed for the failure. But he is interviewed extensively here, and you end up feeling sad for him too.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR George - thanks for all of the news last night, but you left out the most important detail:
-
Did you win your round of Phase 10, or not?
-
Happy Easter to those who celebrate.
-
I hear DR vixmom is putting on a spread.
-
DR Jrand72's brother and sister-in-law will be in attendance.
-
I myself had a home haircut yesterday, so after a shower we'll see how that turned out.
-
I have services to sing this morning and then a brunch at a friend's, so I will be missing in action here for quite a while today.
-
Good morning, all!
-
And to those who celebrate, I wish a very Happy Easter!
-
I must admit that, although I'm quite agnostic, I am currently listening to Bach's Easter cantatas, conducted by Hans-Joachim Rotzsch, with a couple of the worst singers I've ever heard. The orchestra and chorus are fine, the music is beautiful, and then the contralto-mezzo opens her mouth. She's like an anna Russell parody of an over-the-hill lieder singer.
-
Easter morning greetings! I am up early to accompany Fr. Richard to church. We have a quiet day planned, watching Easter Parade and eating the leftovers from our lovely dinner out last night.
-
I need to move to this street.
-
Happy Easter.
-
Last week, after a lot of grinding sounds and a blast of air reeking of burning electricity, my large floor fan gave up the ghost. I have a new fan awaiting assembly by the mechanically adroit Jen. I'm hoping that she and Ann stop by today and take care of it. I plan to spend most of the day on Ballet, No. 11.
-
I’m running late.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The Easter Bunny brought me something I haven’t had since I was a kid:
DOTS!
I’m not going to say why. :)
But I look forward to having some of these in my mouth again.
-
I hear DR vixmom is putting on a spread.
Is her serape out for laundering?
-
Hello.
-
My Easter day is over.
-
Enjoy your Easter.
-
Am inexplicably congested this morning. Dang it! I shall survive, of course, but it's a relapse, of sorts, from previous days.
I have done everything I was supposed to do.
-
I am looking forward to lunch today.

-
Tomorrow we will be in Tokyo.
-
It is our last stop until we disembark in Kobe.
-
We are going straight to the airport from the ship.
-
I am looking forward to seeing Tokyo, or at least a small portion of the city.
-
It is after 10:pm here.
-
'night
-
Sleep well, DR Jane!
-
The Easter Bunny brought me something I haven’t had since I was a kid:

I’m not going to say why. :)

How wonderful.

Kobe beef. Yum.

Sorry.
Reprieve! Took a shower and, suddenly, sinuses cleared.
-
I am full, and delightfully so, of homemade blueberry pancakes with sliced bananas and maple syrup, bacon, and much coffee.
-
I’d better let that settle and be good for a while. Don’t want to have less than a full appetite when we get to vixmom’s house.
-
HAPPY EASTER to everyone! Today on the Broadway Radio Show it's a Big Broadway Welcome as we have fun listening to "welcome" show tunes. Lots of great performances from a wide array of musicals! Check it out!

JB started screaming. Turns out an enormous cat was in the backyard. What a good guard bird.
-
Except he woke me up.
-
Guard birds are good!
-
Glad to hear that DR RON PULLIAM is feeling better. Have a great lunch!
-
I hope MR BK enjoys the play today. I hope it is not a flat show like DR GEORGE saw.
All of the plays and musicals I have seen have been in 3-D, but it might be interesting to see a flat one.
-
I forgot to tell DR VIXMOM and now she's gone to church.
Anyhoo - my brother and his family are not coming. They didn't have anything to do yesterday and now they are exhausted....so don't set places for them.
-
These may be the swans DR JANE was talking about yesterday.

But she went and got that ice cream and everything!
-
Wait..weren’t they bringing the bread rolls?
-
Lovely service this morning, strings, brass and bell choirs all performed along with the adult choir
-
Guess I’ll Wordle then start moving the foodstuffs to mom’s

When I was about six, people in my church staged Goodbye Charlie. I don’t remember much about it, except it was an early exposure to theater and I loved it.
Starting to watch the movie, which I have never seen.
-
Based on the handwritten date on the back, I'd be two-and-a-half here.
-
But it was filmed in CinemaScope with Walter Matthau. And directed by Vincente Minnelli.
-
But I have no idea how old the kid in the picture would be! (ssh-boom)
Woo! I'm here all week, folks! Tip your waiter!

Question for BK:
I know damned well I saved it when you posted it on Facebook (which I think you've done at least a couple of times), but right now I can't locate it: Can you please post that list of films and run dates at the Cinerama Dome from 1963 through the 1970s (and I think we had through the 1980s)?
UPDATE: Oy! I found it! See later post.
-
Pat Boone is the costar of Goodbye Charlie. He’s surprisingly affable as a hapless sort. He could have been another Ralph Bellamy.
-
Ellen Burstyn, billed as Ellen McRae, is a supporting player.
-
Did you win your round of Phase 10, or not?
Yes, I did! ;D
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep. First time in about four years, leg cramp - awful.

Ann and Jen came by to assemble my new Lasko oscillating fan. Jen did the work while Ann and I gossiped. They et it up and lleft. I hate to call and tell them the fan is defective. The mechanism that makes the fan rotate from side to side is dead.

I shall shortly be on my way to see a matinee.

You want your oscillating fan to oscillate? You are demanding, my friend.
-
It has manual oscillation, which means you have to walk back and forth in front of it.
-
I need to move to this street.

DR ChAS SMITH that's some Easter Bunny!
-
DR JOHN G I remember liking Goodbye, Charlie and thinking that Debbie Reynolds and Pat Boone both did a very nice job in their roles.
I am of course also a big fan of Miss Joanna Barnes - who wouldn't give up acting, so they dropped her name from the social register.
-
DR VIXMOM I'm sure you can whip up a few dozen dinner rolls.
My brother did ask that you save some leftovers.....just put them in bags on your porch tonight about 9 p.m. Some of everything - enough for 8 adults and two children. Thanks.
And since he's coming by, send me a piece of pie.
-
I mowed my grass today just to remove any doubt by my neighbors of my heathendom......it took 1 hour and 48 minutes.....and then I had to lie down for two hours.
-
Whoa! How many acres are we talking there, DR Jrand72? :)
-
You must have taken care of the whole south forty.
-
Our house is on the corner. It was supposed to be built facing north - but instead it faces east.
My front yard is the length of two and a half of the yards across the street....and then I have a side yard & a back yard.
So it is a lot like the South 40.
-
Where is everyone? Is it a holiday or something?
I hope MR BK is enjoying the play.

-
Just dropping by to say Happy Wester.

I'm having a quiet Sunday, which is what I prefer.

John G and others: BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES season 9 begins tomorrow on Acorn TV. I'm looking forward to it.

Had a very nice Easter dinner. Cecil barbecued lamb and beef tenderloin. Both were excellent. Pam made some sourdough bread that was excellent.
-
Yes, there was vino.

Saw a mediocre play done in mediocre fashion - It's Only a Play by Terrence McNally. A wonderful writer but not a wonderful play - very jokey, very inside, and very smart-assy, with no characters that you care about.
-
Watching Sorrowful Jones with Bob Hope and Lucille Ball. It’s not great, and Lucy’s singing is dubbed.
-
Saw a mediocre play done in mediocre fashion - It's Only a Play by Terrence McNally. A wonderful writer but not a wonderful play - very jokey, very inside, and very smart-assy, with no characters that you care about.
I hate it when that happens.
-
I used to sign my postcards “Having Wonderful Time. Wish you were here.”
Ball’s big solo is “Having a Wonderful Wish (Time You Were Here.)”

The photographers will snap us
-
And you’ll find that you’re in the Rotogravure
-
Oh, I could write a sonnet
-
But I won’t.
-
After, we went to Genghis Cohen and had a splendid meal.
-
And, as you might imagine, I am full to the brim.
-
And we polished off quite a bit of food.
-
Oh, we made it to page five.
-
Still, a long way to go but we can DO it.
-
I know we can.
-
Bob Hope should have taken W.C. Fields’s advice and not worked with kids.
-
Just talked to Karim Hazime who plays Sami's BFF - got him on track for promoting the show.
-
Orange chicken, garlic chicken, crackerjack shrimp and green beans.
-
I guess I'll try to watch something but right now I can't even move.
-
He’s out of his league with a supposed 4-year-old.
-
Just talked to Karim Hazime who plays Sami's BFF - got him on track for promoting the show.
Good news.
-
I need a crane to lift me up and swing me to the next location - the couch.
-
Oh, maybe I'll watch that Peter Pan opera.
-
We saw a really large number of people for Karim's role and there were several really good people, but Karim was the only one I felt had the warmth I needed the character to have. I didn't want it to be the usual caustic, bitchy queen BFF - I think we've all seen enough of those - I wanted the friendship to be real and loving and that's what he delivered. And he's funny.
-
In today's "comedy" shows, there's just too much put-down humor and bad dialogue and loud over-the-top playing.
-
With little physical comedy. We have a lot of physical comedy, and while I demanded and I do mean demanded a certain heightened energy level, I also said that within that energy level it had to be real. Trickier than you might think.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
You'd think it was Easter or something.
-
Is everyone fondling their gaily colored Easter eggs?
-
Eating Peeps?
-
Certainly, they're not HERE.
-
That is for sure.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
Sure seems like there's gaslighting going on.
-
See?
-
I had a Peep today. It was flavorless.
-
Easter Luncheon at the club was no different from any other Sunday brunch at the club.
Cannot for the life of me figure out what might have been different. Possibly a wider variety of desserts (none of which appealed to me, drat it all).
Still, it was a nice luncheon and I had fried chicken, lima beans, yellow corn, black-eyed peas and green beans, plus a roll and unsweetened tea.
The company was the main thing, and we were surrounded by many others we know.
-
MR BK the documentary that DR RODZINSKI mentioned is interesting. I watched it this afternoon.
Jobriath A.D. I watched it on YouTube as well.....with ads.
-
There's a story in there somewhere, but I am not sure that documentary was telling it.
-
For supper, I fixed a pizza I had been thinking about for a week. I bought a frozen cheese pizza and some shredded mozzarella. I sliced up a "strawberry onion" -- an onion that was grown in between strawberry plants. It's a sweet onion. I put thin onion slices all over the top of that pizza, and then covered it with shredded mozzarella. It came out really tasty. I ate half and will have half for my lunch tomorrow. I posted a photo of it on my Facebook page.
-
10 minutes left in the movie.
-
I’m glad it’s under 90 minutes. It’s short, if not particularly interesting.
-
HAPPY
EASTER!
-
Hi, Tom!
-
Happy TCB!
-
Good night, all.
-
Well I am home
-
I am pleased to announce I remain innocent of matricide, fratricide or any of them other cides
-
It was touch and go there for a while but I found hiding in the kitchen and saying “no thanks just enjoy yourself!” to offers of “help” was a good preventative to indulging in some cide action
-
Of the 16 people who were to arrive two simply didn’t show, didn’t call and didn’t answer the phone
-
They live literally around the corner from moms so my brother walked over to see if all was well and it appeared no one was home
-
So apparently they got a better offer
-
Then it turned out that Ramadan is still going on and bro’s BIL was on religious fast until sundown, while I planned to serve dinner between 4-4:15
-
Which is why people were asked to be there at 3
-
Not somewhere between 4-5 when they actually showed up
-
Oh and two of the folks announced their recent conversion to vegetarianism
-
Once they had arrived for the ham dinner
-
oh and mom announced that she only had one oven rack since she had accidentally melted a plastic bowl over the second one rendering it unusable
-
Having only one oven rack was less than optimal when needed to heat 5000 side dishes
-
Oh and the folks that were asked not to bring anything but their beverage of choice brought (between them) two large cakes, two platters of assorted cookies, a baking sheet of borek ( which needed to be baked) 6 salmon filets ( which needed to be cooked)
-
Also zero beverages
-
And still I carved only the ham
-
I expect to be receiving my humanitarian award from the Nobel folks anytime now
-
After passing out leftovers, convincing people to take desserts home, washing up , throwing out the garbage and the guests I brought my leftovers home and called WFO
-
He had wisely turned down my offer to attend the day’s festivities
-
But he verified it was indeed not too late to drop by with leftovers
-
So I popped by and we had a very enjoyable chat
-
And now I am home home again jiggity jig
-
Vixdad had retired to sleep when I left for WFO’s
-
He had failed to escape to the kitchen and instead had to endure listening to a “child free” (as they say these days ) woman lecture the 7 month along first time expectant parents about horrendous labor complications, the disaster that is the modern education’s system, the horrors of society in general on the well being of children and proper parenting skills and methods
-
Though I am not exactly sure how this miracle occurred
-
I bet Jack’s family is truly sorry to have missed the scintillating conversations
-
Also all the people other than mom, Vixdad and myself are showdog people
-
So there were detailed discussions of the gastrointestinal health of the various dogs they currently or previously owned
-
Very detailed
-
Other than that the play was wonderful,
Signed Mrs. Lincoln
-
So how was YOUR Easter ?
-
There's a story in there somewhere, but I am not sure that documentary was telling it.
I think it committed the sin of not showing Jobriath’s music in the best light, which was the whole tragedy of his life to begin with. Except that lovely animation that closed it rather powerfully.
-
Vixmom you are the day’s real hero.
-
Had a nice Easter dinner at the in-laws over the border. Each of whom asked me, “Do they celebrate Easter in the U.S.?”
-
Came home and watched the latest Succession, which, wow.
-
No posts in an hour. No George in heaven knows how long.
-
And I think it's a well known fact that I do not like page seven. I'm going to write some notes and hopefully this will be rectified, oh, yes, hopefully this will be rectified.

Is everyone fondling their gaily colored Easter eggs?
My sister made some Easter eggs for the monthly PFLAG (http://pflag-olympia.org/) meeting today, and had some non-colored hard boiled eggs left over.
-
It won't work.
-
I got not a single damn gaily colored Easter egg.
