By the way, there are four Margaret Rutherford Miss Marple movies.
Governor Greg Abbott's response to all the Texas mass shootings: "Everyone should buy more guns."
I wish that evil man ill.
DR ChasSmith, your friend Robin will be starring in The Little Shop of Horrors at the St Louis Muny.
I have so many questions...

Same-sized band and same orchestrations as the original.

Lines......once in my head - I wish they stayed there.
Is that the version with the gal you hate who used to own my house? Or a newer reboot?
DR George, I am glad you enjoyed the play.
~~~SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR Jane!!!!!
~~~BETTER DAY VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!!!!!!
CONTINUED REMODELING VIBES FOR DR RODZINSKI!
I will say, unlike the original, the reboot was not boring.
Literally the heaviest book I ever attempted to read

I am seeing Seth Rudetsky on Thursday night, accompanying Andrea Burns in a Bernstein program.
Bernstein's daughter, Jaime, will also be on hand to autograph copies of her new book about her father.
And dumber than a box of rocks.
And dumber than a box of rocks.
That’s an unwarranted slam at rocks.

It isn't as heavy as Les Misérables ;)

Long story short, my brain is utterly confused. Schnippers was the place in the NY Times building. I knew a completely unrelated McMenamins from my time near Philly.
And travel vibes to DR Jane. Why Milwaukee?

Never attempted to read that one.
Oh and my brother decided we would go get my new lawn mower tomorrow.
The more I read about self-propelled mowers, the less I want one.....
If any DR has an opinion to share it would be most appreciated.

Seth Rudetsky and Jamie Bernstein? Two of my least favorite people.
We sort of inherited a lady who mowed the lawn here when the house was vacant. She also mows the empty lots across the street. She asked if we wanted her to continue. I said yes. She keeps coming. But I can’t get her to invoice us. I walked outside with cash once, she was like, “no I need to invoice you. That’s on me.” I literally can’t pay this person!
I was surprised at the Pulitzer handing out the fiction award to two books, both of which I had read. Loved Demon Copperfield. Respected Trust.
Just grabbed a cold Italian sub at a favorite pizza joint. They still had one of my reviews up on the wall. Nice.

You mean Copperhead ;) It took me awhile to find it. Was it depressing?
Is "respected" your opinion of Trust?

Copperhead. Do you find Dickens depressing?

No, but I do find the author can be.
I interviewed her years ago. She was a delight. And she was surprised I knew all of her work including her poetry and her book on the mining strike.
I’m now watching Living. Bill Nighy was robbed of the Oscar. As good as Fraser was, and he was excellent, Nighy is better.
Makes me want to watch Ikiru again.
I wonder what band vixmom had planned to see!

Maybe there is something she would rather have than cash.
What’s your favorite Bill Nighy performance?
This has been a difficult day for the most part. I do not care for difficult days. Obnoxious text to wake up to, ubiquitous computer freeze, the restart that takes time for everything to load properly, Finder freezing and having to reload THAT, never left the house, which is beginning to really annoy me, and other irritants.
It's the closest I've been to a date since 2017.
We are predicted to have temps in the 30's on Wednesday and Thursday night.
Congratulations on your rehearsed date, JRand.
Thanks all. :)
I did not know that you could disengage the self propel apparatus....thanks for the heads up DR RODZINSKI.

That sounds like a fun play DR GEORGE.
In our meeting yesterday - of the program committee - which has WAY too many people on it - several of the folks were recommending shows ONLY because they want to be in them.
I kept saying SUGAR is not a well known name and our audiences might not be familiar with it - not the real reason I kept saying no....but because of the two fools who have been in the show at some horrible theatre one county over and want to repeat their roles....which they were awful in to begin with.
Hopefully we will be able to secure the rights to the two shows we chose and we don't have to add SUGAR instead.....it's a dog of a show.....although I was instructed that if I promote it as "the stage version of Some Like It Hot" people will be fighting to get tickets.

But I have a whole bunch of various cast recordings of the musical. ;)
Last night I watched most of the new DVD of one of my favorite operas, The Turn of the Screw. It's well conducted by my friend John Wilson, but the production had two problems: the concept and the fact it wasn't scary.

Mrs. R might have something to say about that
He climbed up his stairs and back down today which I am very pleased to report
I hear tell Bruce has an aversion to this page
DR JANE it is just a regular gas push mower....20" cut, I think.
DR RODZINSKI - my house is on a corner....my yard measured by the houses across the street is as wide as a driveway, a front yard, and second driveway, another front yard, a THIRD driveway and about 1/4 of that front yard.....and then a side yard - to say nothing of the back yard which is average size.
It is not hilly but there is an incline toward the house from the street.....
I have to say that my brother in law almost always mows the front/side with his riding mower. I only do it myself once or twice a year and the backyard has a small storage barn and clothesline poles and a rock garden and a deck and flowers and the Pet Semetary.....so I am not sure that a self propelled mower would be easy to use around all of those obstacles.
I have avoided an electric mower because most of the batteries last an hour - and it takes me more than an hour to do the job.....
We shall see what we shall see.
And lots of laundry to do
How many channels did everyone have when they were growing up....before cable?
We had four channels and then five when PBS showed up in the late sixties.
WLWI was ABC, WFBM was NBC, WISH was CBS, and WTTV was an independent station.
I did not see a color photograph of Van Cliburn until he was on the cover of LIFE magazine - when I discovered he had RED hair.
I was sure that we would be married and live a lovely life in Texas, his home state. And as I have written before I thought Van Cliburn was his last name, so I searched in vain to discover what his first name might be.
I decided that I would just call him Tex Van Cliburn when we were out on a date.
Growing up in Chicagoland we had on the VHF Band
ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, WGN the big local with Bozo's Circus.
UHF had
Spanish Channel 26, WFLD Channel 32 reruns and old movies, Channel 44 reruns, cartoons and old movies until it was taken over and turned into a wavy pay-movie channel.
Channel 60 and 66. Interchangeable. One started out as a music-video channel.
And Channel 50, run out of a local high school in St. John, Indiana.
Maybe one other Spanish channel.
On the other hand, at the Big Apple Film Festival they're screening episode one of Sami in the Greenwich Village. I'll put the details in but I'd love someone to attend and film so I can hear the reaction. We're trying to get Sami to attend as there'll be a brief Q&A afterwards.
Congratulations on your rehearsed date, JRand.
Jrand is the sitter, and the other guy the sittee, I guess.
But I have a whole bunch of various cast recordings of the musical. ;)
Reminds me of when Beaver Cleaver had to do a book report on The Three Musketeers and rather than read the book, he watched the Don Ameche-Ritz Brothers movie instead.
The 40% off always works but the five-dollar coupon code didn't, so I called - they had no idea why so the just gave me a credit.
Is there gaslighting going on?
