Well, you've read the notes, the notes had an early Christmas listening party, and now it is time for you to post until the early Christmas cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ADROIT!
-
Welcome, 178 GUESTS.
-
That's too bad about the licensing company. At least, your original production is still on YouTube:

Good morning, all!
-
I wish someone would offer me free tacos!
-
I slept well, but I must have consumed too much salt yesterday: I was up every 90 minutes to run to the bathroom. Faithful Thatch stayed with me all night, and I'm sure I drove him a bit crazy. When the alarm rang, I turned it off and went back to sleep for about 40 minutes. I'll be fighting sleep most of the day.
-
DR vixmom, safe travels today. It looks dreadful outside.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Still catching up.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm up and out of here early to meet Kristi at the car place and drive her to work. Her car is getting four new tires today.
-
I can probably use four new tires sooner or later.
But what would really thrill me would be FREE TACOS.
-
I wish someone would offer me free tacos!
If you get lucky, will you share?
-
Glad to hear that DR Jrand72 & Company had a great opening night.
-
DR elmore3003 is getting lucky.
-
So I hear.
-
The Hallmark Channel has "Christmas in July," so why not Kritzerland?
-
Notes faced. Accepted.
-
Sick Spanky and Our Gang Reference in there.
-
I had some problems with my computer set-up after last night's power outage, but after a lot of futzing and finessing, I think everything is restored properly.
-
Spanky probably had no need to wear spanks.
-
But Spanky may have had a blanky.
-
No hanky panky.
-
My secret sauce isn't secret anymore.
-
So sayz Doris Day.
-
But what does SHE know?
-
Once, I had a secret sauce...
-
Or was sauced.
-
TWO!!
-
“Like to Get To Know You” is one of the great songs of the ‘60s.
-
According to the Internet, here is a copycat secret sauce recipe:
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup chopped dill pickles
¼ cup ketchup
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
I can't vouch for the results, however.
-
“Like to Get To Know You” is one of the great songs of the ‘60s.
Is that a close cousin to "Getting to Know You"?
-
Got to Get You Into My Life

Thank you! I just realized I have to leave early to refill the gas tank

Wordle 4, Phoodle 2
-
Must take Mom banking today. Getting her from wheelchair to car isn’t easy.
-
But she enjoyed getting out yesterday.
-
Tacos? Or Fries?
-
It is Fry-day, after all.
-
Fries with secret sauce.
-
;) Today is Bastille Day! If Donald Trump had been leading the happy tourists, France would still be a monarchy under Louis XXVI.
-
Or, as it's known by DR ChasSmith, ASS-tille day.
-
Lucky #50
-
But Spanky may have had a blanky.
Best beware. Blanky may aim a spanky at you.

According to the Internet, here is a copycat secret sauce recipe:
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup chopped dill pickles
¼ cup ketchup

"Whose" secret?
And with what food would this "sauce" be eaten other than fries?
-
Good morning. I am up.
I have some ham and gruyere egg bites to my left, and I have a steaming cup of coffee to my right.
All is well with the world for the nonce.
-
Slept well, although minus my CPAP. One of the ongoing sinus issues is that every once in a while, one nostril or the other is "irritated" and the CPAP forced air is more of a liability than a help.
So, I mouth breathe through the night. I have some dry mouth tablets next to my bed which are handy when I cannot breathe through my nose. I was nose breathing all through last night, though, so that was not an issue.
Isn't it grand, this getting older thing??
-
There is one less egg bite to my left, but that is fine because it is doing wonders for my hunger pangs and digestion
-
I finished watching "Rome" yesterday afternoon, and I then turned my attention to "John Adams'.
I missed the series when it first aired, but caught it a year or two later over a 4th of July weekend. I loved it.
And here it is on Max. I was amazed to learn that a lot of critics loved Laura Linney as Abigail Adams but felt Paul Giamatti was badly miscast.
I think he is a revelation as Adams, and he won many major awards for this performance.
-
"Barbenheimer" is a term I heard used on an MSNBC news report about how the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strike will affect the industry.
A SAG rep said that one example is that actors will not be appearing on talk shows to promote films during the strike. He then said that will have a major impact for studios next week when "Barbenheimer" happens -- the openings of the "Barbie" film and the film "Oppenheimer'.
-
I am here, alone, except for one unnamed "guest" (or "ghost'?).
-
Today's weather is fine compared to much of the rest of the country!
It is currently 82 degrees, and our projected high is 93. Thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon, and temperatures will decline during/after.
-
My egg bites are gone and working their way into my digestive system. My cup of coffee is less steaming and nearly gone.
I think a second cup will be needed.
I wish all of you a fine day, good health and happiness.
Larry, if you get those tacos, I recommend the mild sauce. No need to bring back that acid reflux.
-
I wish someone would offer me free tacos!
Is there a taco place that takes online orders and delivers?
-
Barbenheimer.
I like that. Thanks for bringing it to our attention DR RON PULLIAM.
I am interested in seeing OPPENHEIMER....
I like the Robert Adams opera DOCTOR ATOMIC a lot! It's certainly an interesting story.
-
Hello, Jrand72! How goes the play?
-
And in an interesting aside that may pique the interest of some.
One of the folks who worked with Oppenheimer at his top secret base developing the atomic bomb was none other than Madge Blake - who later became an actress playing Mrs. Mondello on Leave It To Beaver and Batman's aunt on the popular BATMAN tv show.
Madge was offered the part of Aunt Bee on the Andy Griffith Show but couldn't accept it because of her recurring contract on BEAVER and instead suggested her friend Frances Bavier.....and a star was born.
-
DR RON PULLIAM we had a great opening night.
And I am looking forward to the next couple of nights...and then a couple of days off before starting it all again next week.
Our tickets are selling well.....only slow night is next Wednesday with 55 seats left to peddle.
The audience was great.
-
Non-stop laughs....so of course I read the direction the audience wanted and went there.
-
I also liked the JOHN ADAMS SHOW.
-
He went there.
-
This day is flying by like a gazelle doing the Watusi.
-
He went there.
What did he find?
-
And in an interesting aside that may pique the interest of some.

And yet, stories persist that Bavier was very difficult while on the show. With everyone.
I have read that, in her later years, she wrote a letter to Andy Griffith apologizing.
-
This day is flying by like a gazelle doing the Watusi.
Can a gazelle fly while doing the Watusi?
-
Oh, great! I am, once again, alone with "1 ghost". No, strike that! "Guest".
-
I have read that about her, too, DR RON PULLIAM.
-
I am glad that MR BK enjoyed my review....and thanks for the additional comments from the Dear Readers.
-
DR singdaw that gazelle isn't going to get very far. Really a fun dance that I used to enjoy doing.

I wish someone would offer me free tacos!
Is there a taco place that takes online orders and delivers?
There are several in Manhattan.
-
Free tacos.
But that was a terrible thing for that unknown person to do to that store. My guess is that it was the work of a former employee.
-
We haz slowed to a crawl.
-

Giamatti was perfect as Adams. The brutal reality of the breast cancer scene in that miniseries still haunts me.
-
This day is flying by like a gazelle doing the Watusi.
Don’t be silly. Gazelles now do the merengue. The Watusi is so last season.
-
DR vixmom, safe travels today. It looks dreadful outside.
Thank you! I just realized I have to leave early to refill the gas tank
I hope your day went well.
-
Went to a Cuban place for lunch. Had yuca fries. Heavenly.
-
Must take Mom banking today. Getting her from wheelchair to car isn’t easy.
That can be difficult :(
-
But she enjoyed getting out yesterday.
I'm sure she did :)
-
Got one bank situation straightened out. Thank goodness.
-
And I got Mom’s existence verified with the German version of Social Security. Was able to do that with an app.

I hadn't read about the letter which was nice of her to do. I kind of get why she had issues after reading Andy was a big prankster and she didn't appreciate it.
-
Free tacos.
But that was a terrible thing for that unknown person to do to that store. My guess is that it was the work of a former employee.
Hmmm, I didn't think about that. I guessed idiots high on something.

Good.

Has she been receiving money from them? Why did you just now have to verify her existence?

I should go for a walk before it gets too hot.

Keith is using his elliptical bike today. He would rather work out at home while his face heals.

Aspartame may cause cancer.

Ron, the secret sauce is from Jack in the Box.
Ahh...so...!
-
But Aspartayou is still perfectly fine.
Aspartagus isn't doing too well...but, then, everyone says "I am aspartagus!"
-
;D
-
The aspartaginlaws are not welcome.
-
I went for mail around noon, and it felt fine outdoors. Warm, but quite tolerable. I even went to Third Generation and bought a lunch plate: Baked catfish, grits, collards and corn on the cob (YELLOW corn).
A few moments ago (nearly three hours later), I stepped out into the garage to retrieve a package UPS left me. The heat was overwhelming. I think I might be able to bake bread out there. If I were in the mood for baked bread, that is.
It's only 88 outdoors, but there is no breeze and the heat is a bit roiled up with moisture from previous rains.
-
Trying to decide on food. I have a 40% off coupon for Ubereats but you have to spend 25 to use it. That's not hard to do these days, but then again, I could make more Wacky Noodles but then again I'm pretty pasta'd out.
-
If I were to use the coupon, I'd get a Bento Box from a nearby Japanese jernt - you know, teriyaki chicken, tempura, etc. Tempting, I must say.
-
And have said.
-
And will say again.
-
I am listening to Easley Blackwood's microtonal etudes. Each piece is composed in a different arrangement of the musical octave.
On a normal piano that we're used to, the octave is broken up into 12 equal steps, but in these pieces, it is broken up into between 13 and 24 steps.
The result is a bit woozy-making. Off-kilter.
-
I am like BK: I'm trying to decide about dinner, and it's too hot to cook anything.
-
My weird, obnoxious neighbor, known to Annabelle and Thatch as The Man with the Bike, was being particularly obnoxious whe I was talking to Jen in the lobby. As Kathleen Freeman would say, I cahn't stahnd him.
-
I'm getting dizzy thinking about it DR singdaw.

Dennis is going to look like he just stepped out of the shower tonight.
Somehow the heat of the lights soaks up what cooling makes it way to the stage.
We are using almost 100% led lighting as opposed to incandescent - I am horrified to think what it would feel like if we were.....
-
I had some leftover broiled bacon with fresh diced tomatoes and some shredded cheese in a bowl for lunch.
I thought I wanted more than I did.....so I will have the rest when I come home tonight.
-
One of my brothers and his wife can't come to the show tomorrow night so he brought me back his tickets.
-
That's okay.
-
I guess.
-
No rain until after midnight so I will drive the Smart Car again tonight.

Page Five.

DR JOHN G do you use a slider board to help your mother get into and out of the car.
We used one for our father and it is a great help and much less lifting.

I would but Facebook just went crazy.
I clicked to get a message on the theatre page I manage and suddenly I can't get back to my real profile.....I'm stuck on the page....I am having the "new page experience."
It says click on "Your Page" to get back to my profile....but it doesn't...it did for a moment.....but it was my profile/page from about three years ago.
-
Jrand, go up to the top right corner and click on the icon for the page. You'll get a dropdown menu and the first option is to click back to whatever other page you want your home page to be.
-
HA! I just found that.....it's crazy.
I hope everyone else enjoys the New Page Experience more than I did.
-
I am having the "new page experience."
It's an "experience," for sure.
-
Do you know how many books have been written about tying knots?
-
I'll just say: a helluva lot.
-
A lot of knots.

Aspartame may cause cancer.
How long's it take?? I've been drinking stuff with it for almost as long as it's been available and I haven't gotten it...well, that I can tell. ::)
-
Bento Box arrived and contents have been consumed. Teriyaki chicken - average - sauce not thick enough nor tasty enough. Tempura, okay, not great. Salad, okay. Cucumber salad - great. I don't know why it's so hard to find good teriyaki around here but it's night unto impossible.

Have to go out in a bit and get she of the Evil Eye some Clorox product.

I have a lot of childhood memories of my mom stretching the phone cord while cooking and talking to friends. Unfortunately usually a smoke dangling from her lips as well.

Listening to Sitting Pretty. Beverly Lambert is featured. She was also the Anne in New York City Opera's A Little Night Music.
She was the children's choir director for a short time at my church in Connecticut growing up, so I sang with (under?) her.

Ice cream!
More Graeter’s? Looks like strawberry…

That would make me want to have a lay down, DR Ginny.

But I wouldn't rule out an ice cream coma, either. One day, I will get to try Graeter's.

E. Annie Proulx was a guest speaker at the local library (I went to many author events at this library). I don't think she enjoyed doing these-lol.

Someone asked her, IMHO, was an intelligent question regarding the book. She did not appreciate the question and was a bit rude about it.

Powerball at $875 million. I could use 1/100th of that.
I hear ya! ::)
-
Mackers. Smackers.
-
Is this production starring DR elmore3003's sister-in-law?
-
Waiting in the park for the Scottish play to start.
So, Friday in the Park with Mackers*??
;D
Yup.
-
Or Mac the Knife.
-
A brass quintet is warming up the crowd.
-
Not very well.
-
Free only goes so far.
-
They are longing to break free.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Today must be Not Sure What I Want to Eat day. I wasn’t at all sure, either. I settled on Caesar salad and Pasta Primavera.
-
TOD:
London Kills on Acorn TV.
-
Not other news.
Stay cool.
TTFN.
-
Guess I should go get the Clorox and be done with it.
-
It’s intermission. The production is good. The Lady M is effective, both humorous and chilling.
-
The three witches are a blast. All robed in scarlet satin

Nine!
-
Nine is divine!
-
Fine, fine, fine.
-
Nine is mine.
-
Wait - is DR John G.'s mother's cookbook out there to purchase? I have John G.'s. I want to complete the Griffin family collection!
I'm sorry, I must have forgotten about her cookbook. The recipes sound delicious, if only I was still baking ;)
I think Ginny has a copy.
-
'night
-
Nine is divine!
When all the things you are
Are mine.

Apple Music dates the Titanic (the Musical) cast album from 1980, which would be pretty hard to accomplish when the show didn't open on Broadway until 1997.
-
I know that there are bigger problems in the world than that.
-
All robed in scarlet satin
Never wear mauve at a Ball. Or pink.
-
And eat first.
-
I thought of DR John G. immediately.
-
Not that that's a bad thing.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Clorox has been bought.
-
I really did not want to go out.
-
But sometimes one must do one one doesn't care to do.
-
It is part of life.
-
As we know it.
-
I did sleep for about thirty minutes and I did do some writing.
-
The fabulous Hecate and the three witches.
-
Very drag queeny.
-
Fun production. The Macbeth gained stature after becoming king. And I liked the “tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow” speech.
-
An added benefit of the evening in the park was the sparkling array of lightning bugs scattering flashes around the stage.
-
When I first went to Shakespeare in the Park, almost 50 years ago, I dragged my family because they were doing As You Like It, which I had just read. The rest of the season included Macbeth and Measure for Measure.
-
By the end of the season, I was a Shakespeare fanatic.
-
Still am.
-
Needless to say.
-
Nine?
-
Nein.
-
10!
-
Hello, 1 guest!
-
Measure for Measure us one of my faves.
-
I just found out that our leading man will be playing in Titus Andronicus at BardFest next month.
I think he said he is playing Marcus' boyfriend....but I'm not sure who that would be.
-
Our audience was not quite as enthusiastic this evening.....but they did enjoy themselves.
-
Bed time.
-
Good night, all.
-
Costco has some grapes that the packaging says “taste like cotton candy.” My son was excited about this so I bought a container, knowing he’d be disappointed when they were merely sweet and not like cotton candy.
The joke’s on me. The taste exactly like cotton candy!
I know. Right!!?? The first time I had some, I was gobsmacked.
They never keep them long enough for me to find them after I hear they have them.
-
That gal who won/has won all these state fair blue ribbons has just come out with a cookbook.
She AND the cookbook are gay?

So...I spent my afternoon with Max subchannel on Amazon Prime.
And I stopped watching "John Adams" when the system stalled and said something went wrong.
So, I got out of it and surfed other channels.
And then I got back in to just see what might be next for me.
And before I could decide on my next, post-"John Adams' viewing (I have two episodes left), I stumbled onto and into "Angels in America."
I watched all evening and have one episode left to watch. I would have finished it except I, again, got the "something went wrong" notice and it wouldn't start up again.
I know I watched "Angels..." when it aired, and I know I bought it on Blu-ray when it first came out.
But I swear to you, it's like I'm seeing it for the very first time!
I remember the opening...and I know I remember how and where the last scene was filmed.
But, it seems I have no recollection of the story in between. I didn't remember how extraordinary all the actors are, especially Al Pacino as Roy Cohn.
I certainly didn't remember Patrick Wilson and Mary-Louise Parker! And Emma Thompson Meryl Streep. They are all wonderful.
Justin Kirk and Ben Shenkman and Jeffrey Wright are amazing.
I guess I just wasn't ready to absorb the story when I first watched it. It has certainly registered with me this time!
-
It is now 20 minutes past midnight in Johnston SC.
It's Saturday, July 15th right this very minute.
And my bed is beckoning.
-
I’m watching William Richert’s “Success” on YouTube. Aka American Success Company, starring Jeff Bridges. This is the movie they made after Winter Kills filming was shut down due to going broke. The deal to make this movie financed the completion of Winter Kills. Which is weird because I don’t know how anyone made a dime from this movie.
-
So, George is where exactly? In line at Jack in the Box hoping for thirty-two tacos? No help.
-
Which is why we're stuck on page ten.
-
Again.
-
And who knows when.
-
We'll get off it.
-
With no help from darling George.
-
What?
-
Did someone say something?
-
I like Winter Kills quite a bit. Not so much The Great American Success Company.
-
Well, George's name is here so why the HELL is he just sitting there like so much morbid fish?
-

Enjoy.
Those are funny! ;D
-
Most unseemly.
-
Who here is on TikTok?
-
We played three games of Phase 10 and I won one. :)
-
I put up the little Short clips from some Outside the Box episodes - they're getting views but we need lots o' likes. My channel there is haineshisway. Just like here.
-
Paul Desmond is currently playing the music of Simon and Garfunkel, a great album.
-
The fabulous Hecate and the three witches.
That's pretty cool!
-
I just found out that our leading man will be playing in Titus Andronicus at BardFest next month.
I think he said he is playing Marcus' boyfriend....but I'm not sure who that would be.
Hopefully, that production uses enough blood. You just can't have enough blood in any production of Titus. ;)
-
Gratuitous Post #300!!
-
PAGE ELEVEN DANCE!!
-
So, George is where exactly? In line at Jack in the Box hoping for thirty-two tacos? No help.
I'm home.
-
Who here is on TikTok?
I have TikTok. It's weird. :-\
-
A friend sends me TikTok links and when I click on them, they don't always take me to the specific video that the link is for.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
It brings up another completely random video. :o
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I go back to the text that my friend sent click the link again, and THEN I get to the video that my friend has sent.
-
But when I go from TikTok to any other app, TikTok disappears!
-
I either have to click on the TikTok icon on the phone's desktop, or go back to the original link, and then that brings back TikTok.
-
That just makes no sense and it's quite annoying. :P
