Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the second show, and now it is time for you to post until the second cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REFULGENT!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
~~~CONTINUED MULTIPLE MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes of BK!!!!!
-
(that's MMMMs, for short)
-
Hmmmmi woke up, wide awake, an hour before the alarm
-
Good morning, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
It's too warm, so I turned on the AC before I went to bed. I slept very well, with Annabelle and Thatch, buried in the blankets with me. Stella finally joined us sometime after 4:30. She stayed long enough to fight with the other two. After the ruckus of three volatile cats squabbling and leaping around the bed had ceased with all three erupting from the bed and moving elsewhere, I went back to sleep. The alarm woke me to find Annabelle and Thatch were back with me.
Today, I must finish up "Song of Love," book Tuesday's Access-a-Ride to the gastroenterologist, and cart a lot of trash to the basement.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm up but not yet at 'em.
I have to look over a few things for the concert I'm playing in this afternoon, but first,
More coffee!
-
Cheers for the 70 company getting through their second show!
-
I just sneezed.
About ten times.
Must get THAT out of my system in the next couple of hours.
Back from the depressing breakfast served in the hotel.
The only non-carbs were egg omelets (soggy) and hard-boiled eggs (cold).
-
Off soon to Longwood Gardens.
As soon as I tend to the bed I can get to work on the score.
Notes consumed. Presumed.
Good morning!
Nice photos, BK!
Longwood Gardens, why that’s just a few miles from my old house in Delaware. If this was a year and a half ago, we’d have an HHW meet-up, yes indeed.
-
Lovely pictures in the notes.
Matinee vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
Merde Be Gone vibes for MR BK & modern major miracle vibes as well.
-
Great photo of the HHW mini reunion yesterday.
And I enjoyed DR JOHN G's thoughts about the show.
-
Can it be Page Two already?
-
Yes.....yessss.....it can.
-
Sunday morning and just going on 11 a.m.
Have been out of bed 10 minutes. I love sleeping in, especially on Sunday's.
That said, I feel a tad over-rested. There is just not pleasing me!
-
While DR Elmo is having heat wave issues, we are in a cold snap.
I had to turn my fan off last night. I normally run it year-round because I like moving air, whether it's heated or air conditioned. Last night, it was just too cool to bear, so off it went and I slept like so many logs.
-
Over rested is not a bad feeling DR RON PULLIAM.
-
I, too, enjoyed the chance meeting posts.
I have had a few in my lifetime, although never with any HHW folks.
I have enjoyed scheduled meetings with the likes of Rodzinski, singdaw and former DR Jose Simbulan.
I don't seem to get out much and have never visited New York City at all. Seems odd, I know, but it's true.
-
Manchester City is playing at 11:30 a.m. on the USA Network, so I will tune in for that.
I baked some chicken breasts and broiled them for a few minutes at the end of the time.....they are now cooling in the fridge and during half time I will turn them into chicken salad.
-
I enjoyed reading about DR JEANNE and DR RODZINSKI and their surprise meetings.
-
Matinee vibes for DR GEORGE.
-
What I hate, however, is a chance meeting with someone I never hoped to see again.
How many times that has happened, I cannot say, but it has happened a couple of times in memory.
Unpleasant people, or people with whom I have had unpleasant memories, seem to pop up for no apparent reason at times in life.
Happily, nothing of that sort has happened in the pst 30 years. Face it, though: I am OLD, and have memories of things 40 and 50 years old.
-
It is time I put on some long pants. I need to go to Third Generation for some fried chicken and fixin's for my lunch/supper.
-
I forgot to take this into account when driving in yesterday
Fortunately I realized it before I was trapped and headed uptown to just south of Central Park and managed to get across town in time to meet the others for brunch.
This morning, I will be visiting my friend Kyle to record a new episode of our podcast, "Sunday on the Mic with George (https://open.spotify.com/show/3CZoqL2Yv3HnEx2T3drLLU)."
-
We are nowhere near Donald Feltham's league, but we're having fun. :)
-
DR Jeanne I have had more experiences of bumping into people I didn't want to see ;D
-
Back from the depressing breakfast served in the hotel.
That happens far too often.
Is there an echo in the house??
Last night I hadn't been sleeping long when I woke up trying to catch my breath. I had to sit up until I could breath properly again. Then I couldn't get back to sleep >:(
-
I put my awake time to good use and finished reading Krtizer World.
-
It is possible if I had not begun reading again I might have fallen back to sleep.
-
My brain simply wouldn't shut down. For me, reading the story of Benjamin Kritzer triggers many of my personal memories of those times. Of course, many of those include the real Benjamin :)
-
I'm glad I waited until I was feeling better before reading Kritzer World. I would have missed too much had I not been up to focusing on the story.
-
Longwood Gardens is so beautiful. A friend of mine used to play the pipe organ there during the holiday season.
-
If you can stay until it's dark, DR John G., the holiday lights display is worth waiting for.
I have been to gardens with holiday lights and can imagine it is beautiful there.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe three or four hours of sleep.
-
Perhaps dear Jane will write a review for Amazon and then post it to Goodreads?
-
I've shaved, I'll shower in about twenty minutes.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to the theater.
Oh, no! Glad you're okay now!
-
Thanks. I suspect I choked in my sleep, something I often do, and then had trouble breathing. It wasn't scary. I was just annoyed that I didn't fall back to sleep.
It's been a nice quiet day here.
I have a new perspective on a play I am writing - so I hope it works out in practice.
DR John I have enjoyed all of your photos.
I don't recall ever seeing lime with hot cider. Was there something extra in the cider?
That is a slice of apple. I, too, thought it was lime when it arrived.
-
You could order the cider with rum in it. I passed.
-
But the cider was delicious.
-
LOL. An apple slice is much tastier.
We have made it back to Catskill in one piece.
I do like rum but would also have passed on it.
The drive back was marked by two FedEx trucks blocking both lanes of traffic by driving slowly side by side.
-
When they finally let traffic pass, it was backed up for more than a mile.
-
Then they seemed to do it again.
It is another beautiful autumn day here. I did two loops through the parking lot next to us to enjoy the color on the trees.
-
John G you were also but a few miles from Joe Biden’s house. But if you had more time, I’d have directed you to Winterthur, the DuPont gardens and estate just up the road from Longwood. Not as vast as Longwood but richly historic, as well as historically rich, I suppose. Anyway, your photos made me a little homesick for the east.
-
Wonder how the talkback was. I had a friend who wrote plays and her dad would show up at her talkbacks and inevitably ask an awkward question or something like he was trying to stump her. She was not amused.
There’s a theater at Longwood that staged a bunch of musicals in its day, including this Victor Herbert classic:
Sunday evening greetings! I woke up at 5:45am on the verge of a panic attack. Made some coffee and settled at my desk to sort and shred papers and felt better by the time Richard left for church.
-
Hope the panic has passed for good, Ginny.
-
While Richard was at church I baked a pumpkin pie for his birthday tomorrow and got the cedar chest ready to be picked up by the buyer our niece found for us. We think it belonged to the first husband of Richard’s grandfather’s second wife, so there’s really no family heritage lost.
-
Hope the panic has passed for good, Ginny.
Thanks, DR John G. I just have to remember to breathe and hydrate.
-
Loved the photo from yesterday’s HHW gathering in NYC. I miss you all and I miss visiting the city.
I'm glad you were able to avoid a panic attack. Good for you avoiding it by being productive. I normally just read.
A buyer and no family heritage lost, can't beat that.
Back from a terrific matinee - completely full - fun talkback - and several good friends in attendance, including Adryan Russ and her ever-lovin' Dale Cooke, ASCAP's Michael Kerker, Susanna Erdos (sister of the late Joanna) and musical theater historian, Miles Kreuger and a few others.
Afterwards, Doug and I joined Susanna and Miles for dinner at the Coral Cafe.
Stopped at Gelson's on the way home for some Diet Coke.
-
We had a good matinee for An Improbable Peck of Plays V today.
-
I think that there were about 20 or so people.
-
Not as large an audience as we've had, but they still thoroughly enjoyed the production.
-
Now, we're off until Thursday.
-
Then, we'll also perform Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and then we're done!
-
There really isn't anything to strike, except the few props and constumes.
-
But since I'm (just) the light board operator, I won't have to help with that. ;)
