The drive back was marked by two FedEx trucks blocking both lanes of traffic by driving slowly side by side.

I hate when trucks drive like that.  It is very rude and annoying.

When they finally let traffic pass, it was backed up for more than a mile.

At least they finally let the other drivers pass them.

Then they seemed to do it again.

It is another beautiful autumn day here.  I did two loops through the parking lot next to us to enjoy the color on the trees.

John G you were also but a few miles from Joe Biden’s house. But if you had more time, I’d have directed you to Winterthur, the DuPont gardens and estate just up the road from Longwood. Not as vast as Longwood but richly historic, as well as historically rich, I suppose. Anyway, your photos made me a little homesick for the east.

Wonder how the talkback was. I had a friend who wrote plays and her dad would show up at her talkbacks and inevitably ask an awkward question or something like he was trying to stump her. She was not amused.

Sunday evening greetings!  I woke up at 5:45am on the verge of a panic attack.  Made some coffee and settled at my desk to sort and shred papers and felt better by the time Richard left for church.

While Richard was at church I baked a pumpkin pie for his birthday tomorrow and got the cedar chest ready to be picked up by the buyer our niece found for us.  We think it belonged to the first husband of Richard’s grandfather’s second wife, so there’s really no family heritage lost.

The pies were, from left, apple, pumpkin cheesecake and bourbon pecan. I didn’t care for the middle one, but I did like the other two a lot.

Starting the new Michael Connelly. It’s a Lincoln Lawyer mystery called Resurrection Walk.

Bosch is in it along with Mickey. It’s pretty good so far.
