Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 70s before Star Wars, and now it is time for you to post until the 70s cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ASPIRATION!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Sorry about your fountain pen, DR George.
-
You should have a fountain drink, as consolation.
-
Three Coins in the Fountain.
-
By the way, what did Elger ever do to get sanctioned?
-
It must have been something really awful.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another restless, painful night of sleep, Stella was bossy, aggressive, and her two late-night visits only added to my discontent. Annabelle stayed with me all night, and Thatch never approached the bed.
-
Today is Social Security day, so I have bills to be paid.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Last night DJ sent me three photos from the Florida rehearsals for Moonshine & Mistletoe. The first isDJ outside the theatrem the second is the cast - God alone knows what they are doing - and the third is the set.
-
That's exciting, DR elmore3003. ~~~VIBES~~~ to the cast and crew for an excellent production!

I am so disappointed that I will be so close yet unable to seethe show.

This is what I did last night
-
My first Paint Nite with my friend Leslie since the beginning of 2020
-
I am woefully out of practice, but we had great fun!
-
Guess I’ll Wordle and go to work
-
But first, vibes for everyone!

Wednesday, and only a couple of hours before noon when it will be exactly halfway through November.
I haven't gotten beyond July yet. What is happening??
-
I may, or may not, get my flu shot today.
I am way behind in getting it, but I figure it's best to do it before I have all my Thanksgiving week/weekend excursions hither and thither....and yon.
I am especially looking forward to yon, and I do not wish to be sick when i go there or get sick upon my return.
-
Stil waiting, singdaw, for a response to my question to you on page 7 last night.
-
I shan't hold my breath, however.
That never works, anyway.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
Great photos!!!
-
Run thru vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
My thoughts are that today I shall sally forth and take recyclables to our recycle center, stop off at State Farm and pay my house policy, and then I shall drive to Aiken and get the danged flu shot at the VA.
From there, who knows. Perhaps a stop at The Fresh Market or Sam's Club.
Or, I may just put that all off until another day.
-
I dropped by WalMart today so that I will hopefully not have to go there next week.
-
I have not yet had my coffee and won't know how I feel until I've had it.
-
DR RON PULLIAM I enjoyed reading about your upcoming visits and about your family dynamic.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I dropped by WalMart today so that I will hopefully not have to go there next week.
I love that you are "hopeful" about your WalMart trips. Do you "hopefully" do other things, as well?
-
DR RON PULLIAM I enjoyed reading about your upcoming visits and about your family dynamic.
I do hope I have interesting things to say about them after they are done.
-
Oy. Thanks for the reminder about flu shots, DR Ron Pulliam. I remember thinking "oh, I'm waiting till November, there's plenty of time..."
-
Great pictures, DR Elmore. How wonderful to see a production taking shape!
-
I only saw The Eiger Sanction once, and not even in first run. I do remember a couple of intriguing scenes and should give it a look.
I'm thinking it's one I saw at the Writers Guild on Doheny for a buck. Maybe it was two bucks. I could walk there from my apartment, and enjoyed a number of cheap evenings doing so.

Got a message this morning that Mom had a nasty fall and landed on her head. She’s in the ER, where they’re trying to stop the bleeding. She has a large knot developing.

Oh, no. Golly. Praying for the best.

Thank you, Ron.

I'm so sorry, DR JognG!
-
Sorry about your fountain pen, DR George.
Thanks, Singdaw. I looked around and Amazon has fountain pens very similar to my broken one for less than $10, but then I still have three others that are perfectly new.
-
You should have a fountain drink, as consolation.
That is definitely something to consider. ;)

-
DR George I am sorry about your fountain pen.

All my goals were met...recyclables gone, insurance paid, trip to Aiken for flu shot realized, and a visit to The Fresh Market accomplished.
I would have gone to Sam's Club but had forgotten to replace my card into my wallet which I thinned down for my trip to the beach last week. Oh, well.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
The latest is that Mom has been sleeping since she got back to her room.
-
DR Ron Pulliam - in answer to your question: not planning on it. In the immediate future.

But Bernadette probably will.

Hello, everyone.
-
The Amazing Race is on tonight. The teams are in Germany.

Yesterday I FINALLY took my filthy car to the car wash, only to find that it was CLOSED. What?! Several of the guys who work there were hanging around.
Me: You’re closed??
Him: we’re closed. It’s going to rain tomorrow!
I asked one of them if he could do a hand wash.
Him2: yes, yes.
Me: How much?
Him2: 80.
Me: No.
Yesterday it was sunny and today we’ve just had a light rain, off and on. I do not understand this.
So my car 🚗 remains filthy. I did run an errand today, but missed whatever rain we had.
-
I have never heard of closing when it isn't raining. Do they offer a free wash if it rains within x number of hours?
-
Today I’m taking a Me Day. I am feeling very lazy. The errand I ran just happened to be practically next door to the bagel bakery, so…
Is making a pig of yourself part of the Do Nothing Club or is that a different club?
-

I had never heard of it, either. No, Idon’t believe they offer that.

We'll get there, by gum and by golly.

I can never remember.

Buy gum is for bygones.

I have been watching Our Miracle Years, a German series on PBS, part of the Walter Presents collection. It’s very good. It’s a story about a German family just after WWII. Worth watching.
-
Waiting for a package which FedEx said would be here by the end of the day, but I don't think that's in the cards.
-
Getting back to the parakeets…
Does one cover them at night so they’ll sleep? I believe they sleep lying down.

Maybe some popcorn will wake me up.
-
DR Ron, I forgot to mention we did not buy the Sleep Number base since we already had one. The base is not returnable. The new mattress we ordered is not designed to go up and down so our old base will be unplugged. If we want to elevate, we will use pillows.

I went out in search of Christmas lights.
Lights that someone else has already put out for display?
Or lights for your own use and edification?

We all need to be edified every now and then.

Anent DR George's tale of the miscreant fountain pen:
Am I the only dear reader who feared his tale would reveal he was afflicted with a major ink stain on his shirt pocket?

YES! And, while it's gratifying to know it was only a damaged nib that was experienced, I must say I was a bit disappointed in the denouement.
-
Miraculously, the pen still works AND it did not stain the laundry OR the washer.
You are very lucky. A few months ago I was taking a load of towels out of the dryer and found black streaks over many of my towels. A pen must have been in one of the machines, but I never saw it. The streaks eventually washed out.
-
And now for something completely different:
-

The pen was in my pants pocket, so my fear was that it would leak onto my jeans.
-
I've had pens in high school and college that would leak and I'd get ink all over my leg as well as the pocket and pants. :P
-
Watching the original The Cotton Club. I knew it was a mess, but the energy and the musical numbers were so good that I watched it twice.
-
We like disasters averted.
-
And fortunately, only one pen fell on the floor, so only one nib was ruined.
-
The re-edited version has more Gregory Hines, but the energy isn’t quite as good.
-
And now for something completely different:
Yes, that’s what I was treated for last week!

Yesterday, after doing the laundry, I found a click pen at the bottom of the washer AFTER removing the cleaned load from the tub.
I hate it when that happens!

Seven!
-
I've even found pens still in my pants pockets after pulling them out of the dryer. ::)

Hi, Jeanne, Ron, George snd Singdaw!

I have since (finally) gotten into the habit of checking all my pants pockets for any contents before washing.

Absolutely! I got to see Gregory here in Olympia! He performed for the Washington Center's CenterFest and he was fantastic. He invited local kids who were taking tap and dance lessons to come onstage and dance with him. There was just so much joy that evening.
-
Sadly, he died less than a year after that. :(
-
Hey, John!
-
Speaking of Johns...here is John Wilson conducting his orchestra in a superb recording of "Salaambo's Aria" from "Citizen Kane" by Bernard Herrmann. This was done in 2013.
The soloist is Russian soprano Venera Gimadieva. She is beautiful and delivers the vocal brilliantly.

Gratuitous Post #202!!

Hello
-
I have no news
-
I dint even have any olds

Thanks for the link, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
We are closing in on a page turn.
-
I saw WFO who is recovering nicely from the pneumonia
-
One more.
-
PAGE EIGHT!
-
Although he is still receiving treatment
-
That is very kind of you, DR vixmom.
-
Good night, friends.
-
I went to pick up my meds from the CVS where they informed me that my insurance wouldn’t pay for the life sustaining drug I have taken daily for over 35 years
-
So they gave me a discount instead
-
Which meant I paid $4 less than I normally do with the insurance copay
-
I’m so confused
-
But glad to have my refill
-
Which meant I paid $4 less than I normally do with the insurance copay
Very strange, but very good news!
-
Vixdad decided he didn’t want to wait for me to cook dinner so we ordered pizza
-
With Roma tomatoes, mushrooms and peppers
-
That is very kind of you, DR vixmom.
Not at all. I love WFO. We’ve been friends for 45 years or so. I stop and have a visit most nights on my way home from work. I very much look forward to my visits
-
But speaking of being kind, thank you all fir the kind words about my “ artwork “
-
I’m no artist but it is fun
-
I went out in search of Christmas lights.
Lights that someone else has already put out for display?
Or lights for your own use and edification?
For decorating my house. Had a lot of light strands fail me last year.
-
I needed a light refreshment.
-

Ah, so. Once upon a time, I did exterior lights. Unhappily, my house electrical system could not quite handle the load of a fully decorated cedar tree outdoors and all my indoor lights.
Nothing major happened other than having switches shut off. I sacrificed the lit tree for the lit house.
It wasn't truly surprising since I was living in Italy at the time, and houses were not equipped for heavy electrical loads.
-
So much violent fun. Hines’s tap dance while Dutch Schultz is killed remains a highlight
-
I’m no artist but it is fun
That's all that matters!
-
Good night, all.
-
Back from the brush-up - I gave a couple of tiny notes before we began and then after act one, I adjusted one bit of blocking and corrected one line that's always said wrong, plus asked the four people doing backup on See the Light to not let it get sloppy. I left after the opening of act two - not enjoyable for me to see this without an audience anymore.
-
Q for BK: Do you enjoy Peter Nero?
-
Let’s see if we can’t advance to the next page.
-
It will require verbiage, and words too.
-
Was down a rabbit hole looking at clips of the great Anjanette Comer.
-
Who is still with us at 84 or so.
-
Her only marriage was to Robert Klane of Where’s Poppa? fame.
-
He passed away in August.
-
And that’s some Anjanette Comer facts for ya.
-
Page NI9E!

Fave Anjanette Comer flicks?
The Loved One, of course
The Manchu Eagle Murder Caper Mystery
The Baby
-
Evenin', Rodzinski!
-
Love Peter Nero.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
But must finish doing something before changing the topic, so converse away.
-
I have six pictures to post, so let me post them all. :)
-
My sister and her three friends gave been friends since they met in college, and one my sister new in high school (and probably middle school)!
-
They're all around the same age, so for their big birthdays, they do something really special.
-
When they all turned 50, they went on a hot air balloon ride!
-
Evening, G!
-
