Is it a cranberry curd tart, DR John G.?
In the meantime, we're doing something different, just this time. We're bringing in a completely prepared meal - from Stew Leonard's. Full turkey and all. But no prep, no cooking, just some reheating. It'll be fun.

If I attempted a pumpkin roll, I imagine the cake would crack into a million pieces when I tried to roll it.
Here’s one for the after-dinner drink I had tonight. Take Amaro Nonino and pour it over ice. Serve. Drink. Enjoy.
It made me happy.
Happy Thanksgiving, dear HHW folk!

Best to everyone!!
I will be riding with my cousin Butch and his fiancee Sharon to Simpsonville SC to the home of Butch's daughter Ashley (my favorite first cousin, once removed), to enjoy Thanksgiving with her and her family (four boys plus husband Clay Keller).
The trip is about 90 minutes each way. I am providing iced tea -- both sweet and unsweet.
Despite my protests that I know how to cook, I get relegated to bring tea or rolls or ice..like I have no skills of any kind.
Oh, well!!
A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL'A Y'ALL!
The parade is on. I don't give it my full close attention, but I enjoy it for a while.
Wonderful Thanksgiving Day to all!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I slept until 8:30am. It's a Thanksgiving miracle.
:)
Thanksgiving afternoon greetings! We had 2 Spectrum guys here this morning getting our TV and wi-fi set up. They were finished in time for us to see the Macy’s parade.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I will probably finish off the meat loaf......if it doesn't finish me off first.

From DR Singdaw:QuoteIf I attempted a pumpkin roll, I imagine the cake would crack into a million pieces when I tried to roll it.
The cake stays moist as you roll it in a cloth and let it cool rolled for half an hour. Unroll it, spread in the cream cheese mix, and roll it back up.
My sister and her daughter are vegetarian, so she (my sister) is preparing "field roast" for them...and anyone else who even just wants to try it.

Is that a fake turkey?

Wow, that was nice of them to work today.
Well, not really what I had in mind... but it will work I guess

The earliest boyband was from western France. They were known as the Brittany Spears.

Not specifically. I should've typed that as Field Roast because it's a brand of plant-based foodstuffs:

It was their idea and we’re very grateful.
Back home and totally stuffed! I never eat that much!
We went to El Torito, the Mexican chain, because it was one of the few restaurants open nearby and they serve all afternoon and into the evening. It was a buffet with turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, plus enchiladas, rice, and other things. Lots to choose from.
Bruce couldn’t understand why he felt so full. ;D
Back from a lovely Thanksgiving dinner at El Torito (The Torito). For starters, I had a little salad, one slice of turkey, one slice of ham, mashed potatoes and yams. And yes, for reasons I don't understand, I was and am ready to explode.
I suppose the second plate of a small enchilada and some stuffing didn't help the cause. No room for dessert.
Nice flag.
Watched Nyad tonight on Netflix. Annette Benning and Jodi Foster both great.
Nothing exciting then ;)

I would like to see that. Is Maestro on Netflix? It’s not at the theaters here.
No whipped cream for the enchiladas either, then.
In answer to your question earlier, DR Jane, we did not host this year. We were guests. And had a wonderful meal.
I will not be going out shopping tomorrow.
I guess I'm a little behind, too, because I don't know what time we're expected to show up at the Vixes' for dinner.
You're just a few sides short of a full smorgasbord.
Pumpkin pie, I think.
Nothing exciting then ;)
Had Thai lunch from a food truck in Vancouver, BC. Then the Mrs surprised me with a mini turkey meal at dinner time with the kids. So we had a wee American Thanksgiving after all.
The Heath English Toffee Bits went very well with the pumpkin roll. Maybe next year I will sprinkle some on top of the cream cheese filling before I roll up the cake.
An American flag was on the house across the street, looking very pretty flying in the wind.

Starting to get a few Christmas decorations up.
Well, maybe a nap...or not. We'll see.

It was just my mom, Vixdad, WFO and me
Thanksgiving Epilogue: All in all, everything was great. The turkey was fantastic, and according to my 5 year old nephew, I won the contest. LOL. The pie was delicious and the stuffing is really a work in progress. We had three turkeys (!) so there were a lot of leftovers. I brought mine home. I think I'll make a turkey, almond and grape salad for our WC Tech Pot Luck on Sunday.
Hope everyone had a great day.
