Well, you've read the notes, the notes were written on a Saturday night, and now it is time for you to post until the Saturday night cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PLETHORA!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I never said good night friends last night.

~~~PREP & PROCEDURE VIBES~~~ for DR Ron Pulliam
-
CONGRATULATIONS to DR elmore3003 on your show opening in Florida! Loved the photo.
-
Good morning, all!
-
The alarm rang at 6:00. I turned it off and went bacj to bed with the cats. When I decided it was time to get up, it was 6:50. I did not sleep well.
-
Today I must look over the scores for "Sensitivity" amd "Happily Ever After" for my session at City Center with Joshie.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I'm happy the funeral went well.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Had a dream about being at the Rainbow Bridge. I think we were on the Canadian side unable to get back to the U.S.
Is there a real one? I only know about the one pets cross over.
Good morning.
It's blah day....colonoscopy prep day...day before the procedure day. I am almost gagging at the thought of this evening's prep.
-
I am not ready for it to be December. Not ready for any of the mayhem that consumes most of us during the "holidays".
I shall survive. Oh, yes! That much is certain.
But it's so soon after last year's. Seems so at any rate.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I'm happy the funeral went well.
Thank you. The problem with funerals, at my age, is that I see kin folks more and more ONLY at funerals...and we seem to enjoy seeing one another.
But life keeps us apart during our regular lives.
-
Yes DR RON PULLIAM - that is the way it is for us nowadays.
I am glad it went well.
Prep vibes.
I don't think I have ever asked you - but reading about your cousins and other family, I think I know the answer. Are you related to the publishing Pulliams?
-
Sunday performance vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
I keep thinking it is Monday.
It is NOT Monday.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Yesterday was Sunday all day for me.
Today is Sunday again.
-
Vibes for DR Ron Pulliam enduring the prep.
My turn will be coming up again sometime in the new year.
-
The forecast is for s**w here today......but maybe it is wrong.
-
It’s the bridge that crosses Niagara from Buffalo to Canada.
I hope for your sake it is wrong.
Hello everyone...I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! The new episode of the Broadway Radio Show is up and my guest is singer Dianne Fraser who joins me to chat about her debut album You & I: The Words and Music of Leslie Bricusse. We had a lovely conversation and played several tracks from the album which will be released on December 1st
Prep vibes.
I don't think I have ever asked you - but reading about your cousins and other family, I think I know the answer. Are you related to the publishing Pulliams?
Very distant. I once did a week-long internship at the Star when i was a journalism instructor at the Defense Information School which was at Fort Benjamin Harrison, IN.
During my time there, I was introduced to Eugene, the owner/publisher, and we compared lineage info. His Pulliams immigrated early to Missouri while mine stayed in Virginia. We know we are related, but "distant". We have common ancestors but multiple trees separate us.
My turn will be coming up again sometime in the new year.
I started early with a couple of pills...and already I'm feeling the effects of the cleanse.
More pills at one, and the 2 liters of solution start at 5 p.m.
I keep thinking it is Monday.
It is NOT Monday.
No, it isn't. Would that it were! Sigh.!
Prep vibes for DR Ron!
HHW asks: What can you do on a Saturday night?
Sam Loomis says: Sometimes Saturday night has a lonely sound, you ever notice that, Lila?
These are things to ponder on a Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, or after a Violent Saturday or a good Saturday Night Fever.
-
I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep. Alarm set for ten-thirty, but here I am.
-
Reason is two-fold: Maybe it might be a bad idea to eat a chili burger at midnight, especially when you're out of Pepcid. Actually, it wasn't that bad, thankfully. The other fold is I woke up with a funny idea that will get us into the final song of the show better.
-
From DR Singdaw:
In the call center I work in, we have a team of only 9 answering calls from the entire state.
Our hold times sometimes go to 45 minutes during the peak season, which is now.
Wow! Does the recording give people an idea how long the wait time will be?
-
While I tend to scream at the recording I have never sworn at it ;D
-
DR Ron I am pleased you found comfort and cousins at the funeral.
Well, today is going to be a day!
-
First, I'm going to record another episode of my podcast Sunday on the Mic with George (https://open.spotify.com/show/3CZoqL2Yv3HnEx2T3drLLU) with my friend Kyle in about an hour.
-
And I can't believe that I forgot to mention that our special guest for last week's episode (https://open.spotify.com/episode/3NKO5wyMff1eZhuFlbJr2R) was our very own DR Jed! ::)
-
Dopey me.
-
Anyway, after recording today's episode, I'm off to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts to volunteer for two, yes, TWO performances of Studio West Dance Theatre's The Nutcracker (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/swdt-nutcracker-2023-11-26-1pm/).
-
I'm working the bar, so I'll be pouring beer and wine and hard cider for the 1:00 p.m. matinee ::) and the 5:00 p.m. evening show.
-
Then I'll come home. :)
-
And I can't believe that I forgot to mention that our special guest for last week's episode (https://open.spotify.com/episode/3NKO5wyMff1eZhuFlbJr2R) was our very own DR Jed! ::)
:)
-
Fortunately, I'm done with the first show once intermission is over and the second act starts, so I'll have a break until I need to be there for the second show.
-
And I just noticed that BK is pretty darned close to a posting millstone, so if someone could capture it, that would be swell. ;D
-
And now, it's shower time, then I'm off.
Have a good day, all!
-
As the New Christy Minstrels sang, everybody loves Saturday night.
What did they do with the OLD Christy Minstrels?
That's cool about Jed, DR George.
That looks like fun DR ELMORE.
Congrats on getting your work done!
-
Interesting DR RON PULLIAM.
I have to say that when I have my invasive procedure - I always use Miralax mixed with GatorAde.
A nurse told me about it once.....it is not as horrible as the prep stuff and it does exactly the same thing. You just have to remember to use GREEN GatorAde.
-
DR GEORGE I would guess you will be doing a brisk business in beer and wine at The Nutcracker.
-
No s**w yet!
-
Here are a few more shots posted on Facebook. Im the photo of the cast in the rehearsal studio, my collaborator DJ is back center in the blue shirt. To his left in the checked shirt is the phenomenal David Lutken who supervised the music.
I think the production shot is thwe scene where Arlie, the mentally challenged young man in the family, who alone outside in the cold sings "I Wonder as I Wander," while the baby is born.
That production looks really wonderful, DR elmore3003.
As the New Christy Minstrels sang, everybody loves Saturday night.
My parents had the original vinyl album to "The Wandering Minstrels" with that song, and then I bought the CD version (https://www.amazon.com/Wandering-Minstrels-New-Christy/dp/B00069I73W/) for myself. :)
What did they do with the OLD Christy Minstrels?
You don't want to know. ::)
That's cool about Jed, DR George.
I know! And he even drove down from the Tacoma area where he and Ann and their kids live, and we recorded it with all of us in person on the same couch!
Great pictures...all of them!
-
DR GEORGE I would guess you will be doing a brisk business in beer and wine at The Nutcracker.
Well, even though I'm serving at the main concessions counter, the satellite bar gets much more business because they are in the direct line of sight as soon as people walk in the building, and I'm off to the side.
-
We did get some pre-show business, but the intermission will get much more, I'm sure.
-
No s**w yet!
Whew!
The selling of the beer and wine for the ballet went well. It was much busier at intermission than pre-show...as usual.
Right now, I'm at McMenamins The Spar (https://www.mcmenamins.com/spar-cafe?utm_source=Google%20Maps&utm_medium=Website%20Button&utm_campaign=Spar%20Cafe) for a quick bite, then back to the WCPA for the second show.
There were around 650 tickets presold for the matinee, but I don't know how many are pressed for this evening's show, yet.
We'll find out during the usher chat before the lobby opens.
Those are all great pictures. It looks like a really good production.
I went to church this morning where I served as communion assistant, and did my altar guild duties.
Although technically today was Christ the King Sunday we celebrated the first Sunday in Advent a week early.
-
Then I distributed communion to my housebound people and then went to the bagel store
-
There I purchased a breakfast hero for Vixdad and egg and bacon on croissant for moi
-
I brought them home and we had our breakfasts then Vixdad went out to bag leaves and I went out to run errands
-
I stopped by church and picked up all the used linens.
-
Then on to BJ’s to buy two pair of glasses for the bargain price of only $705.98
-
Because the second pair was half price and I didn’t get transition lenses in the second pair.
-
I also picked up beef to make meatloaf…the turkey leftovers are all gone
-
Then to Lidl to get orange juice and creamer
-
Then home again home again jiggity jig.
-
Then I remembered I had to bring the remainder of the turkey bones etc to my moms so she coukd make turkey soup
-
So that was done and we had a little visit
-
Then home to do some stuff that had to be done and shortly I must make the meatloaf
DR George - do any theater patrons pre-order drinks to be ready for them at the beginning of intermission?
A lot of folks around here do that.
DR George - do any theater patrons pre-order drinks to be ready for them at the beginning of intermission?
Yes, and it costs a dollar for the privilege. ::) However, not many people do it. I did have one patron this afternoon pre-order a couple of drinks for the $1 each fee.
Sunday evening greetings! We’ve had a productive weekend with time out yesterday to watch Michigan beat Ohio State for the 3rd year in a row - sweet!
-
Back from a matinee and a textbook example of how to lose a GREAT sold out audience in ten minutes. So much fumfering, low energy, and more fumfering. Calling people by the wrong character name. We got them back about twenty minutes later and they certainly all enjoyed it because they haven't seen it before, but I sent a message back via the stage manager at intermission to find their damn JEF. Second act was better.
-
The Shermans really loved it and had a great time and photos were taken, which I'll share in the notes.
-
I noticed in the pre-show light that the band lights around the proscenium weren't lit. They tried everything to figure it out. Then when our PSM dimmed the lights she couldn't even get into the pre-show announcement cue, complete darkness. It was only then she she looked at the breaker box and saw that that was the problem. She reset the breakers and voila, we had our lighting back - thank the Lord.
Back to Cat Daddies. Such a wonderful feel-good movie. One story: David is an immigrant from Georgia who rescued a wounded cat on the streets of New York. He’s got cerebral palsy and has been offered emergency housing, but he won’t take it because they don’t allow pets. So he stays with Lucky, who is just a gorgeous gray cat.
Hello, John.
Hello, George.
-
Lizabeth Scott’s character is supposed to be 19 in Desert Fury. She looks at least 10 years older. A good 10 years, but still 10 years.
-
Great photos from DR ELMORE.
-
There is a Delicious Delectable commercial featuring a cat that looks just like Thatch.
The other cat in the commercial is gray/white/black with a very distinctive striping pattern.
Great review for MR BK & Co.
Hopefully all of the fumfering is done for the run.
DR GEORGE did the theeder music expert tell you how to tell that there is a soprano at your front door?
Well, this is a great story (and I'd recommend watching the videos):
"Silent for far too long": Family of man who commissioned last known slave ship on efforts to make amends (https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/enslaved-clotilda-and-meaher-descendants-talk-reconciliation-60-minutes-transcript/)
Page six???
-
Really?
-
And George just disappears at 11:45 and hasn't been seen since?
-
Probably stuffing his face with free tacos.
Or down some damn rabbit hole.
Or napping in his easy chair.
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
And he WILL be held accountable.
Still, I do not care for page seven.
Perhaps he's on the phone with a long-lost friend.
Perhaps he's using the euphemism.
