Happy birthday to DR ChasSmith!!!
AHA! I remember a television movie that scared me and scarred me for life.....and I was in my 20's.
Trilogy of Terror - three stories each starring Karen Black. The last story called The Zumi Doll is the one that did it. If you saw it, you know.
It's probably on YouTube. :'(

If you have access to The NY Times site, this is an interesting article about one of the authors of the stage musical "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" (the only one of the four who is still living) fighting the estates of the other three writers for the right to have the stage musical performed with revisions to implement with a less-controversial update to the kidnapping aspect of the story.
https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/14/theater/seven-brides-for-seven-brothers-lawsuit.html
From the Times article:
"“Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” features a central plot twist that makes the story problematic for contemporary audiences: A group of ill-mannered brothers kidnaps the women they have been eyeing"
"Now, an effort to modernize the story to make it palatable for today’s theatergoers has landed in court."

So an attempted kidnapping is an improvement-lol

I have made a red velvet cake. It looks more chocolate than red, but it smells wonderful.
More heating vibes to Ginny!
And why am I just now putting together that DR Freddie is the artist formerly known as FJL?
Hey, dude!!

This is the line in the article that describes the nature of the changes you mentioned:
"For that staging, David Landay, the only one of the 1982 show’s four writers who is alive, added a prologue and revised the plot so that the women foil the kidnapping attempt but, bored with life in their small town, opt to flee voluntarily with their would-be abductors."

It was Karen Black who scared you. She was one scary creature.
I have made a red velvet cake. It looks more chocolate than red, but it smells wonderful.
Dog peed and pooped in the yard here, which is what I prefer, we had a little walk, she ate her early meal, and she just had a treat. She's abandoned the couch after the treat and is on her blankie.
Today was the last of the treats she loves - there were only five left. So, I found the one store within fifty miles that has that brand and that specific treat and I was able to do Instacart and get it.
Friday afternoon greetings!More heating vibes to Ginny!
Thank you, DR Freddie!SantaJustin arrived this morning with a newfurnaceair handler that he and an associate installed without putting another hole in our ceiling. They will be back Monday to install the heat pump, but we do have heat for the weekend.
The encapsulation project is finished.
I now have a dehumidifier working underneath the house and a tracking monitor for humidity readings.
I am keeping that in my kitchen.
And, today is the day that a local repair guy stopped by to assess, and give me an estimate for, the repair of a gutter recently dislodged during a storm.
Based on data I've gotten from townsfolk who have had similar work done, I got a fair estimate. and the work will be done one day next week.
Still, this month has been the most expensive month of my life. Thank goodness I am not having to shell out for the MRI and the Colonscopy.
And, I have property tax due next month.
Golly.
For Dear Reader ChasSmith:
I shall not be answering, however.
One can never have too much cake.
Jane, treats are called Paws Happy Life beefhide chews plain flavor with a little peanut butter on them.
She makes quick work of the treat in about five minutes.
I had Pad Thai for food.
HAA! I solved the problem and finished a second section of the play.
Five more to go....two scenes and three monologs.
I may tackle the last scene tomorrow.

Performance vibes again for MR BK & Co.
Well, not too much further to a page turn.
Watching UCONN vs. GONZAGA in a college basketball game.
Did the page turn happen?
And maybe try to knock out one of the monologs.

I just LOVE gorgonzola!
I watched the four part miniseries ARCHIE today....a British series about Cary Grant.
Of course the lead actor wasn't nearly as handsome as Cary - but he did a pretty good job of it.
The woman who played Dyan Cannon was uncanny in her impersonation and at times it seemed that she WAS Dyan.
There were several celebrity impersonations. The most egregious were the supposed Alfred Hitchcock, Grace Kelly, Doris Day, and MOST unfortunate, Audrey Hepburn.
Funny cartoon DR RON PULLIAM....it took me a moment to get it!
LOL.

If musicals seem unrealistic to you because "people don't just break into song and dance in real life," then you just aren't hanging out with the right people.
We were wined and dined in an extravagant amount.
It was very nice indeed.
Back from the show - amazingly great audience with much cheering and an ovation for Hit It, Lorraine like we've never had. A few sloppy things that are probably only annoying to me. Knew a few folks. No Kay Cole. Even though she told me she couldn't wait to see it tonight, I knew she wouldn't show up. She called today and said her shower broke and the workmen were there fixing it. So, I had a seat for the show. Full house.
