Well, you've read the notes, the notes had an e-mail from Steve and much more, and now it is time for you to post until the e-maiing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BOFFO!
-
Thanks for sharing that, BK.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Again.
-
I hope for real, this time.
-
That was a great e-mail, BK. Congrats on getting it, and for why you got it!

A Sondheim note in the notes!
Love it!
-
There is an industry reading of a new musical this week in New York.
The Ghost of John McCain.
-
In Ghost of John McCain, the late Vietnam War hero-turned-senator awakens, horrified to find himself back in captivity, in the afterlife, inside the mind of Donald Trump. As a prisoner of Trump’s war to win the approval of an establishment that Trump both reveres and scorns, McCain must fight for his freedom by engaging in a high-stakes debate over life, legacy, and American values. As McCain navigates the surreal landscape within Trump's consciousness, a "Greek Chorus" of iconic public figures, including Hillary Clinton, Roy Cohn, Eva Peron, Teddy Roosevelt, Robert Jordan, and Lindsey Graham, rebel against the President's relentless demands for affirmation.
-
Intriguing.
And original, that’s for sure.
-
I remember Charles and Julianne Pogue.
Wasn’t she known as “la jolie femme”?
Have a good time at lunch, BK.
-
We had so much wind and rain last night that we lost power.
Conditions have thankfully improved.
Wishing everyone a good day and sending good vibes. 🌻
-
I apologize for not posting more often.
Am in poor health, but enjoy reading what everyone is doing and thinking.
-
I did not watch the Golden Globes, but read about the films.
Has anyone seen Anatomy Of A Fall?
That looked particularly interesting.
The other movies that I would like to see are Oppenheimer and The Holdovers.
-
Good morning, all!
-
The morning has managed to be, in the past 60 minutes, a horrendous piece of shit, thanks to my bank, that canceled debit card, and a lying accounts manager who deserves to be made into a rug.
-
I hate my life.

Good morning, I think I am getting sick

Sore throat and feeling exhausted

Oh my. Healthy and lifey vibes for DRs vixmom and Elmore!

oh, and... Good morning, all.

The world is a semi-brighter place today.
I've got a nice imbalance between the two eyes, which is wholly to be expected and lived with for the next two weeks. But - wow, what a difference in clarity and COLOR between the old and the new.
-
I have a cat on me, preventing easy typing on this iPad, so I'll be back later.
-
Good morning!
I was up at 7:58 a.m. Of course, I have no kitties or dogs to demand being fed or walked, so...I can sleep as long as I need.
I slept well, dreamed pleasantly.
-
I made my first full pot of coffee this morning with my new coffee maker.
Ground my beans first.
Use ZeroWater in all my drinking machines.
The coffee is delicious. Beats the heck out of my K-Cup coffee, although it's the same blend and brand I buy K-Cups of.
Pardon my ending that last sentence with a preposition.
-
Actually, I fibbed.
My coffee is Peet's brand.
My usual K-Cup is Peet's Morning Blend. However, I bought three bags of beans last month, one of which is Peet's Holiday Blend. THAT is what I am drinking this morning.

I have many things to actually get done today, plus some things I WANT to get done.
I think slow and steady is my best bet...do what I can, rest, and then do some more.
-
Good morning, all.

Need to head off for pantry handouts.

And happy holiday (blend).

Nice notes.
I shall have to think about the TOD.
-
I watched 700 Sundays last night. I liked it a lot.....but I was disturbed by Billy Crystal's plastic surgery face......
-
Maybe distracted is a better word.

-
On behalf of myself and the 124 guests, I thank you.
It's now 146 guests reading something on the board.
-
As BK has said lately, is there gaslighting going on? :)
-
BK - Are you able to tell what those 146 guests are reading?
-
Are they reading the current notes by BK?
-
Are they reading the archived notes by BK?
-
Will this speculating hold out long enough to get us to page 3?
-
Page 3 is pretty close, after all.
-
And we might get there before noon Eastern!
-
Page 3!
-
From DR John:
We had three trucks visit with food. It’s usually two.
No wonder you were exhausted.
-
DR Ron, wow on your surprise visit with the allergist yesterday. Vibes the VA approves the medication, and it works!
-
From DR Rodzinski:
Speaking of highways, sad news that Andersen’s pea soup palace along Highway 101 in Buellton near Solvang, CA has closed up shoppe. How I loved their French fries.
This is indeed sad news though I don't recall having fries there. To me it is all about the soup.
-
HOLLYWOOD SQUARES:
Peter Marshall: George Gobel, true or false, some peas can last one hundred years.
George Gobel: It certainly seems like it.
-
So far the Pea Soup location in Santa Nella is still open.
-
The original location says it is closed for redevelopment. It dodn't say exactly what that means.
-
I think William Castle filmed Homicidal! in Solvang.
-
I like DR FREDDIE's suggestion of Nichols & May for the TOD.
I will include:
Bobby Darin
Joan Rivers
Woody Allen
Giselle MacKenzie
-
I did not watch the Golden Globes, but read about the films.
Has anyone seen Anatomy Of A Fall?

~~~Continued Improving Health Vibes for Iris!!~~~
-
Once I founds cans of Andersen's Split Pea soup sold locally, but not since then. When we lived in Ashland Santa Nella was a good place for an overnight stop when driving to LA. We would either eat dinner there or take it back to our room, depending on the weather since we had to sit outside of the restaurant with Sherlock. I would pick up a few cans of soup to take with us.
-
Since moving here we haven't stopped in Santa Nella.
-
The morning has managed to be, in the past 60 minutes, a horrendous piece of shit, thanks to my bank, that canceled debit card, and a lying accounts manager who deserves to be made into a rug.
Thursday afternoon greetings!
DR Ginny, I hope you and Richard are feeling better today.
Well, we’re not worse, DR Jane. We’re both up and about and keeping ourselves entertained. I suspect it’ll be this way through the weekend, at least.
-
DR ChasSmith, thanks for checking in. Glad to hear your first procedure went smoothly. Good luck with your mismatched eyes over the next 2 weeks. My biggest complaint was no depth perception.
-
No 3-D movies for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
The sun is shining today....at least at the moment.
-
Feel better vibes for DR IRIS.
If you have a tumbled stone source in the area - I would suggest purchasing an Apache Tear that is very helpful in stabilizing such life situations.
-
I am watching a 1967 film called The Liquidator which features Mr. Rod Taylor and Miss Jill St. John who looks beautiful and gives a credible performance.
The credit sequence at the beginner is most clever even if it is derivative with Miss Shirley Bassey singing the title tune with some execrable lyrics.
-
I did take a moment to go to the bank and to WalMart for some supplies that may be needed if the SN*W reports for the weekend prove to be true.
In any case temperatures hovering near the ZERO mark are predicted.
I'm glad you are both feeling functional.
We were productive this morning and loaded up the car to take to Goodwill. It was our first time there since moving here. The drop off was easy. Then we filled the gas tank and went to Fred Meyer to stock up before the winter storm arrives on Friday afternoon.
-
Mostly we purchased fruit and vegetables.
-
Gratuitous post 101!
We moved people through the food pantry line quickly today. Finished before noon. Last week the work lasted until 1:30.
Came home and, believe it or not, took a nap.
Made a cherry almond tart for a birthday present. Did dishes.
Now I am sitting here like so much fish.
It sounds like you had more people this time which makes it even better that they finished earlier.
DR JANE I am sure future customers at Goodwill will thank you for your contributions.
I hope so and thank you. We often went to the Goodwill store in Ashland as it was conveniently located. There was also a Hospice store that we donated to.
Nice email, BK. Thanks for sharing!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Glad to hear that Chas’ surgery went smoothly. Do you feel able to drive? I wasn’t able to during that period.
-
Feel-better vibes for DR Ginny and DH Richard. Vibes it only gets better.
-
Congrats to bk on his esteemed email.
-
Health vibes to DR Iris. May you see improvement daily.
The other day I took 3 Amazon returns to the UPS Store. All were in their original packaging. The clerk accepted two of the items, but said that the third one needed the original packaging. I pointed to the plastic bag that the item was in and said that that was what it came in. No, he said, I need the rest of it — or I could purchase replacement packaging from them. What?? How is this item any different from the two others? I never received an explanation.
-
Today I phoned Amazon about it. I was able to speak to someone right away, but he had an accent and not everything he said was clear. The bottom line is that Amazon refunded me and I don’t need to return the item, but I’d like to know under which circumstances a customer needs the shipping packaging. In the old days, any time I thought I might need to return a purchase I’d hang onto the packing, just in case. I just don’t have room to do that anymore.
-
Health and prosperity vibes to Vixmom and Elmore. And to all of us.
-
I concur!
-
As opposed to conquer.
-
I definitely don't do that.
-
One last workday before Open Enrollment concludes. (We are closed Monday for the MLK holiday)
-
I work tomorrow until 7:30pm.
-
I spent some time today working on the Accumulation. I took as much as I could carry down to the recycling bins. So much more to do! I’ll try to chip away at it.
Hello, Sing.
I wonder if this is going to be a problem with the newer packaging that doesn't have an extra Amazon bag. Was your unexceptable bag an amazon white or clear?
DR Ginny, belated shock at and vibes for your and DH Richard’s bouts with Covid.
Get past it fast. I know of someone in Florida who’s been fairly sick with it and has been testing positive for ten days or longer.
-
'night
-
Glad to hear that Chas’ surgery went smoothly. Do you feel able to drive? I wasn’t able to during that period.
I was thinking about it during my ride to and from the doc’s office, and I think driving in daytime in familiar areas will be fine in the interim. Re depth perception, pulling in and out of the garage will require the greatest concentration. :)
-
Hey, let's all hang out on the deck!
Good night, friends.
That will not do.
No, siree Bob.
Whatever happened to Charles Edward Pogue? In terms of HHW activity, he was one of the top contributors back in the day. I just missed meeting him at Shakey's once, as I arrived too late, BK and I went to ... someplace else I forget.
-
Last work on wikipedia is a stage play, Tartuffe in 2007.
-
A 2005 Hercules TV movie.
-
Pogue and his wife Julieanne Beasley reside in Georgetown, Kentucky. They are both very active in theatre productions and he frequently works with the Actors Guild of Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky.
So sayeth wiki.
-
It was good to see Iris for a bit on here.
-
Quite windy here, with temperatures dropping into the teens.
-
These are the insights I bring to page 6.
-
Wishing healthy recovery again to Ginny and Richard. And a better night and day tomorrow to Elmore. And continued eye health to Chas.
-
Feel better vibes for DR IRIS.
Thank you, Jrand! I have looked into it, and my friend who lives in Sedona is sending these to me.
Jane, the item (a fleece pullover) was returned in the clear plastic bag provided by the manufacturer. I don’t really recall what sort of shipping packaging was used, but most of my Amazon deliveries lately have been in brown paper mailing envelopes, so that’s probably what it was. But why this item and not the others? They all came in something. It’s a puzzlement.
-
Good night.
-
My sister Annaliese lives in Lexington. I will have to see if she’s heard of them.
-
Good night, all.
I have been binging "Only Murders in the Building" all afternoon and evening on Hulu.
I have about four more episodes to go in Season 3, but I am dog tired and ready for bed.
It is 1:25 am, I must be up in 5 hours and 35 minutes
I should be sleeping
Of course I am instead eating potato chips and onion dip
-
How are your resolutions coming along?
-
Well, tonight's Poe Nocturne final dress rehearsal went quite well.
-
A couple of the slides and a piece of
Mahler's music were moved.
-
I got one more light cue, but otherwise it was pretty much the same as last night.
-
We had three people in the audience, and they thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.
-
One of the audience was a young man who said that it was his first time ever seeing a play!
Perhaps it’s all we are.
Dec 15 was the last day we couldn’t make 8.
-
10 days before Christmas
-
Back in 2023
-
We were so young then
-
Life held such promise
-
We began a path of at least 8 pages of posts.
-
We embarked on a journey that has led us here
-
On this night, we walk away from our dream.
-
Did we fail here tonight?
-
Did we give our all?
-
Did we stress the man and forget the child?
-
Perhaps.
-
But I’m proud of all we achieved.
She is, and she's an absolute sweetheart!
There's always next month.
Maybe… wait..
