I thought Adventurefuls were new. I've never had one.

Congrats Bruce.

Back from breakfast at Vivian's Cafe. Very bad - should have sent it back. Eggs benedict with undercooked English muffin, undercooked eggs, little Hollandaise. First bum meal I've ever had there and I've been going there for at least twenty years.
-
Did a little shopping at Ralph's.

I do not like undercooked English muffins, or any undercooked toast.

And so now my facebook account is linked to another email and password.....and facebook is completely unhelpful in trying to resolve the problem.

That stinks, DR Jrand73.

Good afternoon.
-
I remember a bunch of us signed up for Facebook when this site went down and we wanted to keep in touch. For a long time, you folks were about the only ones I was friends with.
-
I made sure no one from church was on my friends list. I didn't want them all to know what I was doing. That held for many years ... until we got this new minister. He found me on Facebook through one friend. And then others found me through him.
I mean, you can't decline the preacher, can you?
-
I wonder now why I even keep Facebook. I don't post often.
-
I have heard from security people that the one app you should delete from your phone is Facebook.
-
That was quite a rant.
-

It’s hard.
-
I just spent 90 minutes weeding. It’s sunny and 80 out there. Feels glorious.
-
But for as much as I did, I feel as if I made no progress.
-
Those weeds are prolific.
-
I also got to listen to more of Percival Everett’s Erasure, which is the basis of American Fiction. It’s hilarious. Makes me want to see the movie.

Lovely.

We walked, it didn't rain and it wasn't windy so I am content.

I don't have the app anymore. I had it for a short while, but I just prefer using a browser, even on my phone.

I am curious if you will find the movie as funny as the novel.

TOD: There are so many great ones, but my two favorite songs are Windmills of Your Mind and What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life. I don't really know the scores; I should fix that.
-
Two more opera reviews came in. The Chronicle was a mixed review, focusing more on the opera rather than the performances, as is appropriate for a work that hardly anyone knows. We don't often get reviewed in the Chronicle, just for new or rare repertoire, so the publicity is welcome. Another blogger also came in with a rave review. I haven't seen anything from Classical Voice yet, but maybe that's just as well given their recent track record with reviewers.
-

Yes, in case someone has sent a private message.

DR Jrand73, that completely sucks. As I'm understanding it from you and others, there is pretty much NO WAY to adequately communicate regarding that kind of problem or anything of the sort with Facebook. My impression is that you can only report things in whatever ways they have set up, which means you get one canned response after another, pretty much regardless of the nature or severity of the problem. Such as, you know, little things like identity theft. I do not know why they're allowed to continue operating that way.
A mutual friend - BK knows him in L.A., Michael Gabiano - has been going through this with them, and they do NOTHING. Again, the problem is that you cannot properly communicate with them.
This is probably a stupid question, but in cases like this, DR Jrand73, is it feasible to go through the process of deleting your account entirely (which I think originally couldn't be done, but it's possible now?), and completely start over? You'd first want to make sure you know everyone you're FB friends with so you could contact them and say what you're doing, know what groups you're in that you'd want to rejoin later, etc. etc. etc. Anyway, pardon me, I'm just rambling, which is what this kind of unjust thing tends to make me do sometimes.
EDIT: I apologize for the question. I just reread your post. Holy moly on rye.
-
I also just remembered I have another friend with years of good history on Facebook, who got hacked in some way several months ago, and they have NEVER been able to restore her account. People are getting away with this shinola every day, and you have no recourse.
As for the app... I hate most "apps", of just about anything, and the only time the FB one gets used is when something directs me to something that opens it by default. And that's a rare occurrence. I go for the desktop versions of everything I can, all the time.
-
The Facebook HELP wants to send me a code at the email address of the hacker.....which isn't clear to me....or complete. It will no longer communicate or recognize the account email or name that my page is registered to. The phony account email and password is the only one they will recognize.
I will have to rebuild my entire account.
If you are friends with me on the Facebook please send a friend request to Jackrandall Earles at Facebook and DELETE the account at Jack Randall Earles on Facebook.....
SORRY for the trouble.
I will have to rebuild my friends and groups list at my new account, but I will certainly NOT use Facebook as I used to.
Sorry if you are receiving weird or disruptive messages at the old account.
-

Yes, in case someone has sent a private message.
I have a separate messenger app on my phone.

I'm sending you a friends request. I must say the new account looks fake since there isn't anything on it. I suggest posting something on your old account stating what is happening.
-
DR Jrand I gather you did not buy a new car. Can you post on your old account that it is a fake post?
-
On the last episode of Miss Scarlet for this season.
-
Facebook is disgusting and I'm telling you that there is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen over their inability to deal with their crap. Mark my words, someone will do it and it will cost them billions.
-
Been watching various and sundried things.

Making two hot dogs for the evening repast.

Frustrating is seeing all the congratulations, and knowing the Jack who is responding is not our DR Jrand.

Anybody know anything about Saint-Saens' opera Samson & Dalila?
It's great! I haven't sung it but I've seen it. Are you looking for something more specific?
-
Thank you, Michael G. It’s tonight’s listening. It’s lovely. So far. Just into act one.
-
We’re slow today.
-
As slow as I am weeding.
-
As slow as a Chantal Ackerman movie.

Goodnight, Jane.

As slow as I am weeding.
"Four Weedings and a Funeral" could be the name of something.

I have a floral wreath on my door. It has blue hydrangeas and green leaves on it. I think some birds have started to build a nest in it.
-
Getting lost in Samson et Dalila. Lush music. The original story was about lust. Samson for her and Delilah for money. Not so dramatic. The opera is about love. Admittedly, it’s one sided, but his love for her seems genuine given the nature of the music.

One thing I noticed while weeding is that loquats are beginning to form on the tree. Looks like there will be some fruit this year. I’m already thinking of loquat cobbler or pie.
-
Yes, to mix a metaphor, I am counting my loquats before they’re hatched.
-
It’s been four or five years since I have had any.
-
I find that the loquats are better than the highquats.
-
But plumbagos are better than Winnebagos.
-
And that is the extent of what I know about gardening.
-
Good night, friends.

I have started a western called Butcher’s Crossing. Nicolas Cage is okay, but everything else is hopelessly cliched.
-
That’s enough of that for tonight.
-
Good night, all.

I've never had a loquat.

:-\
-
Should I?
-
Are they anything like the kumquat...which I've also never had?
-
I don't think I've ever even seen them in person.
-
Tomorrow night are the callbacks for Incorruptible at the Lakewood Playhouse in Lakewood.
-
...for which I'll be stage managing.
-
We're going to have a production meeting before the callbacks, so I need to be there by 5:30 p.m.
-
That's prime traffic time!
-
:o
-
It (normally) takes just about a half hour to get there from Tumwater.
-
But, I'm going try to leave by 4:30 p.m., to (hopefully) allow enough time for any potential slow traffic.
-
The callbacks are scheduled to go until 9:30 p.m., but will end when they end.
-
Then, rehearsals proper will start on Monday!
-
So, decisions will be made fairly quickly.
-
The few people that I knew were all pretty good...really, on the better side of the acting ability spectrum.
-
But I'm not making any decisions, so I have no real stake in the game.
-
It would be great to finally be involved in a show with Sharry, so there's that.
-
...even if we're not acting together.
-
But, as I always say, "It'll be what it'll be."
-
;)
-
And now...
-
...since we're so close...
-
...let's get ourselves to page...
