Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland 128, and now it is time for you to post until the 128 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ADDUCE!
-
Congrats, BK, on the successful Kritzerland show! And very nice pictures in your notes, too!!

Good morning,- all!
-
Another restless night with one interesting dream. I awoke at some point in the middle of the night thinking, it seems really late; how long have I been asleep? The answer: around three hours. The clock told me it was 11:29. And so the night went on and on and on . . .
-
I dreamed that Joshie brought me some proofreading work on a score Jonathan Tunick was writing for either an Angela Lansbury event or a Sondheim evening of some sort. It was a long dream that revolved about a piano part that I did not understand, Jonathan's explanation, several producers, and a deadline to finish the proofreading.
-
First thing this morning, I must deal with this 40 lb carton in the lobby.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
.
-
It's DR Rodzinski's day!
-
Who decides these things?
-
Glad to hear that Kritzerland 128 went so well. What a wonderful achievement for all these young folks. And bravo to BK for providing them with a platform.
-
~~~MOST EXCELLENT A/C VIBES~~~ for BK!!!!!
~~~CONTINUED MULTIPLE MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes o' BK!!!!!!

All zese are Zizi's!!

Can't sleep in this damn hot house. Infuriating.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Wonderful report on the Kritzerland show.
I saw someone had posted one video on Facebook, but I was on my phone which was running out of juice so I'll have to find it later.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Slept about eight hours. A few dreams, none of which I remember.
-
Glad to hear that the show went so well.
-
Back to rehearsal tonight.

Has anyone ever had breakfast at The Waffle House?
-
I myself have not.

BK is making me remember my couple of places in L.A. that (1) had no A/C (the little 1930s or 1940s building in Beverly Hills) and (2) the in-wall unit that should have overpowered the place but in fact just wasn't any good by the time I was living there (the little apartment in Palms).
[Spoiler: Years later, they finally installed A/Cs in the B.H. place.]
But yep, miserable in the hot times of the year. And the Valley has more of those times than my side of the hill did.
-
Glad to hear that the show went so well.
I would love a few videos.
-
It's DR Rodzinski's day!
Yes! Happy Vinyl Record Day!
-
I ain’t asking for much.
-
Has anyone ever had breakfast at The Waffle House?
Quite often after a night of imbibing. Their food has the grease your body needs.
-
I just don’t like their hash whites. They’re always under cooked.
-
Congratulations to BK and everyone involved for the success of Kitzerland 128! Such fun to read the write-up in the Notes and see the photos!
-
All zese are Zizi's!!
Lovely!
-
BK wrote in last night's Notes: "In the writing of the notes, I came to the sudden realization that I do not care for page seven."
It's great that after suppressing your feelings about page seven for so long, you finally could give in and let out these hidden feelings.
-
I may have noticed the hash whites once or twice, but I'm always so glad to get hash anything that the doneness doesn't matter too much to me.
(After moving to Connecticut, I was starved for real hash browns because all of the diners here served "home fries", not the shredded variety. It wasn't until Danbury got its first Denny's that we began seeing real hash browns in the area. We were depraved on account of we were deprived.)
So, Waffle House: We probably ate at them a few times when we moved to Florida in the 1960s, but I truly RE-discovered them on car trips to and from Ohio in the 1990s-2000s. The hashes might be a little white, the bacon is greasy, but everything manages to be totally delicious. My only gripe is that they only served margarine or whatever kind of fake butter it was, so you never got the buttery goodness on your breakfast that your tongue expected. I haven't been to one in a few years, and I don't know if that's still the case.
-
I've been finding that McDonald's hash browns are quite tasty and very consistent.
But at least in Manhattan, they aren't the low-price item one used to associate with the concept of "fast food."

The picture of JD Vance in drag is hilarious.
-
I did some long overdue gardening this morning. It’s too hot out there already.
-
I filled half a green bin.
-
I sent my building manager an email about this carton in the lobby, asking for contact inform yopung men livcing in 1E. She sent me an email saying that she cannot give out tenant information. So, I sent an email back apologizing if there was a misunderstanding. It was my understanding the men lioving there were working for the building. I'm now waiting for her response.
-
Bruce, congratulations on a great show!
-
Can't sleep in this damn hot house. Infuriating.
MEGA VIBES IT IS FIXED TODAY, AND STAYS FIXED!

But yep, miserable in the hot times of the year. And the Valley has more of those times than my side of the hill did.
We lived on the East Coast for 13, 14 years without A/C. It made LA seem like a breeze not having A/C.
-
I never watched Fraggle Rock when it was on the air. It may have been on HBO. Anyway, a live stage version directed by John Tartaglia of Avenue Q is coming in February. Sounds fun.
-
Surprised at how much I have accomplished today. Did dishes in addition to weeding. Filled out some paperwork and listened to the latest Bach lecture. I’m up to lesson 15. It’s not even halfway through.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe four hours of sleep. I've written Grant again.
-
Temp in the house has dropped to seventy-nine. Before I leave for the bank, I'll turn on the air and see if it's working properly as it sometimes does during the morning and daytime hours.
-
What's A/C? (She asked from her East Coast 1955 cape cod styled house that is currently 5000 F in the upper floor)
-
Hi guys!
-
It's been a busy couple of weeks during which among other things I drove all over creation
-
What's A/C? (She asked from her East Coast 1955 cape cod styled house that is currently 5000 F in the upper floor)
Hi, vixmom! How was your trip?
You were greatly missed.
-
Since July 25 I've driven back and forth from Florida, then Brookyn and Manhattan a couple of times, then to Philelphia, DC, back to Manhatran and finally back home around midnight.
-
I am actually at tge office where there is indeed AC
-
Though my house is a boiling cauldron of hell
-
Well upstairs at least
-
We now have a through the wall AC in our master bedroom and a portable in our living room
-
I have not caught up ,I've been all over
-
I will entertain you ( or bore the pants off you) with tales of my travels at some point
-
My British friend is still in town so the next few days we'll be doing stuff as soon as I get off work.
-
I do want to catch up
-
I will entertain you ( or bore the pants off you) with tales of my travels at some point
Looking forward to that!
-
Congratulations to BK and co it sounds like a phenomenal show was performed last night
-
Now to see what you all have been up to
-
Back from banking. Turned on the air before I left. Came back and it was blowing hot air. And Grant is on radio silence. If I haven't heard back in two hours, I'm calling someone to come deal with this.
-
I decided, come hell or high water or both, that I needed that litter and I would drag it with my sorry ass up to the third floor if it killed me. I got to the first floor and ran into one of the nice young men in 1E and I learned two things:
1. my building manager is a liar
2. he and the two or three young men living in 1E do indeed work for the building.
I asked the young man if he would carry 40 lbs of litter up to my door and leave it while I took the Chewy.com packing materials to the basement. He did and I did.
-
We did speak briefly. His name is Alexander and he asked me how old I was. The concept of anyone's being 78 years old completely gobsmacked him.
-
Welcome back, DR vixmom! I have wondered where you've been.
-
Good morning. It is not noon here yet.
-
I'm glad you got help with that 40-pound box, Elmore. I am at the point now where I have to buy the size I can lift.
-
Finally heard from Grant - driving home from Vegas.
-
No one available until tomorrow but more likely Wednesday. I just turned on the air for the fifth time and it's finally blowing some semi-cold air, so I'm gonna leave it on, much as it bothers my throat - I'll leave it on as long as it's blowing cold air until it's not. If that means it's on until bed, that's fine by me.

I've got Elena's video from last night playing now on Facebook. Beautiful stuff.
I'm glad DR vixmom is back.
I'm also glad DR Elmore met the guys and got his cat litter upstairs.
I'm also glad Grant is once again communicado and is on his way back to town.

It was on HBO. I remember watching it, and even though it was supposed to be a "kids" show, it was fun for me watching it as an adult.

Another YES for McDonald's hash browns.
One of the most perfect formulations of a fast food product EVER.
Totally delicious, and there hasn't yet been a single "similar" product in stores that even comes close.
-
Warmer now.....but not uncomfortable.
-
The regular mail person is out today......the person covering his route just rang my bell and asked what my house number was.....I told her.
She asked me where another street was and I told her.
I told her I had emails that two packages were out for delivery.....she searched her bag and found nothing. She handed me my mail.
-
I sat down to read it and realized that she had given me the mail for 20 Fairwood Court NOT 20 Fairlane Drive.....
I walked out to find her but didn't see her....so I started to take the mail across to its rightful owner and saw her standing on the corner looking puzzled.
-
I walked over to her and said....Fairwood Court is right there....we're on Fairlane.
She said....yes, I made a mistake.
I gave her back the mail and figured I will probably never see my packages....at least today before I leave for rehearsal....in about an hour or so.

No. Now that I know the young men in 1E are employed by the building, I'll just stop by and ring their bell.

The drive home was a nightmare. The school in the neighborhood opened today, so cars weren’t moving. I felt like I was driving in Austin or LA.

I need a break.

Listening to an interesting novel called Kitchens of the Great Midwest.

Heading home on our walk today SEVEN police cars, one fire truck, and one ambulance raced past us with their sirens blasting. All those police cars something was definately happening.
-
People we past going the opposite direction didn't know much. One woman we always say hi to who jogs during her break from work saw one police car at the restaurant we eat at, but only one. Sweet is that one of her co-workers drove down to make sure she was ok, which explaine why the car past us and then turned around and headed back rather quickly.
-
We walked down to where the one police car had pulled in and it was already gone. We thinks all the cars and trucks used keys to open gates and go to the park farther down. We did not go to investigage and came home.
-
Oh, my! I wonder what could've happened!

I wonder if BK felt the quake at 12:20PM local time today.

Oh, my! I wonder what could've happened!
Heard back from our neighbor with a police scanner and he said there wasn't anything. He walked down as far as we did and saw what we saw, nothing-lol

Made some tiny pasta shells with Rao sauce on it, which I really like, though it needs a little spice added. I also added some chicken. Very easy dinner.
-
When it's hot, easy is good.

I'm now having a cherry-lemon Italian ice.

Even more refreshing.
-
I have to finish The Mighty Quinn, which I never got back to over the weekend.
-
Finishing up another Bach lesson. Almost halfway through.

Rao's sauces are wonderful!

I will have to try Rao next time I need a tomato sauce. I don't make my own any longer, or have jars shipped from a restaurant in Michigan.

True, though it didn't seem as if your jolt would be that strong.

Regarding the 40-lb litter box, I see so many seniors who could use a bit of help. It might be cleaning or errands or a ride to a medical appointment. Simple things. I’d really like to see a service where college students or others could help out. I’ve thought this many times.

DR Jeanne have you had any luck with your search for a new home?
In a word, no. It’s not just the astronomical prices, I just don’t like most of them.

Jane, you had cataract surgery on one eye, is that right?
I did, on the right eye last Wednesday. The left eye will be done this Thursday. At the moment I have mono-vision. After Thursday only distance vision. I am hoping my follow up visit to the doctor on Friday will show my 20/30 vision in the right eye has improved and that my left eye is just as good.

Yes, it can be a difficult period while you’re waiting for the second surgery.

Thanks, Elmore, for posting the RR link.

Thank you Jeanne. Because I don't need to wear my glasses with the lens removed it is not nearly as bad as I expected, and has given me time to get used to the fact I won't have close-up vision anymore.

Yup, or good reading glasses. It sure is nice though to see without thick glasses that were always falling off of my face.

Queuing up The Fall Guy. I hear it’s fun. I need fun tonight.

Good night, Jane

The not-cared-for page 7 seems quite close
-
But getting to the not-cared-for page 7 gets us closer to the cared-for page 8
-
So just one away
-
PAGE SEVEN!
-
The house cooled down to 72, at which point it shut off as it will until it automatically goes on again if the temp of the house goes up - it did that just now and blew warm air and in three minutes by the time I realized it, temp went up to 74. I shut it off and hopefully it will stay cool until bedtime. We shall see.
-
I got in bed and slept for two hours - that was nice.
-
Now I'll try to find a movie to watch.
-
I had Panda Express earlier.
-
Right.
-
Told our host about the photo thing - it literally happened two weeks ago.
-
Test photo - who painted this?
-
The Fall Guy was only intermittently interesting. But Emily Blunt is a good action hero. And the dog is great.
-
The best scene is in the credits, so watch it to the very end.
-
I'm starting Across the Pacific with Humphrey Bogart, Sidney Greenstreet and Mary Astor. All back with John Huston after The Maltese Falcon.
-
I don't think I painted it!
-
Okay rehearsal tonight.
Story about the show on the website and both Facebook pages.
-
I liked Randy's new video.
-
Now I need to go to bed!

Both of my small packages were in my mailbox when i got home.

That is excellent news, DR Jrand73!

I am up way too late.

And I am tired.

So I should go to bed.

But not before I get off this blasted page.

It just takes words.

Nonsensical words.

Words, words, words.

Good night, friends.

Hint about the painting: Done by one of the most famous and best composers of popular song in history, with a few B'way shows as well.
-
Johnny Mercer?
-
Good night, all.
-
Johnny Mercer?
He was more of a lyricist than composer, but he did happen to write with this composer.

Oh, my! I wonder what could've happened!
Heard back from our neighbor with a police scanner and he said there wasn't anything. He walked down as far as we did and saw what we saw, nothing-lol
;D

Made some tiny pasta shells with Rao sauce on it, which I really like, though it needs a little spice added. I also added some chicken. Very easy dinner.
Tonight, I had the rest of the little Vienna sausages and kielbasa in barbecue sauce that was leftover from yesterday's PFLAG picnic.
-
I added some cream cheese and salsa con queso to make it less sweet.
-
The barbecue sauce that was used, while good, was sweeter than what I'm used to.

Rao's sauces are wonderful!
I've seen their sauces here in Tumwater, but I've never had any. I guess I need to try some. :)

Gratuitous Post #222!!
-
*I* certainly felt today’s earthquake. Quite a jolt. No damage that I know of.
:o
-
Good thing there was no damage, Jeanne!
-
DR Jeanne have you had any luck with your search for a new home?
In a word, no. It’s not just the astronomical prices, I just don’t like most of them.
That is definitely a consideration!

Well, my friend Shelly and I did a little demo in my kitchen today.
-
I
have had a small pantry and shelf in my kitchen that I wanted to have removed.
-
So, we decided to take them out ourselves.
-
I found some pictures on my phone of my kitchen from last year and the year before.
-
Here's one before-shot where you can see the pantry in the back and the shelf/table on the right:
-
Yes, the shelf is filled with my snacky-bits. ;)
-
And here's what's left of the area (we haven't cleaned anything out yet):
-
And here, you can see the pony wall from the side with the bottom of the cabinets that we also took out:
-
Yes, my kitchen was very cluttered. ::)
-
And here's after the cabinets were (easily) removed:
-
I have a sideboard or buffet (I forget what my sister called it) that I got from my sister several years ago, and that's going to go into the kitchen where the shelf and pantry were.
-
Because the wall is now gone and the sideboard/buffet is not as deep as the shelf, I'm going to get some more room in the very small kitchen!
-
PAGE NINE DANCE!!
-
Here's the sideboard in it's present position:
-
It'll be emptied of its current contents, then moved into the kitchen and restocked with various kitchen items.

So, for those of you in the know, what would you call this? A sideboard, or a buffet? Or something else??
-
I think my sister refers to is as a sideboard, but I might've picked up the "buffet" name sometime after I got it and I don't remember where, when, or why. :-\
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Lots of photos, which is why it took so damn long.
-
But it's done.
-
I will admit to needing a sweet treat so about four hours ago I had coconut cream cheese cake - very good.
-
From the Cheesecake Factory.
-
Page nine is lovely, isn't it?
-
I find it very attractive in a non-salacious way.
-
Speaking of salacious - how about The Randy Vicar and the Tsetse Fly.
-
What the HELL is a Tsetse fly anyway. Is it from Tsetse?
-
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
-
What am I, Groucho Marx all of a sudden?
-
All right.
-
All left.
-
Well, I suppose I'll change the topic.
-
One must, you know.
-
It's just done.
-
And I'm the one to do it.
-
Coming soon to a theater near you.
-
There is no theater near me.
