Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a hundred million miracles, and now it is time for you to post until the miracle cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FORTUITOUS!
-
Welcome, 150 GUESTS!
-
Notes flowered. Drummed.
-
I agree with just about everything you said about Flower Drum Song, BK.
-
And those who say they disagree are those who cannot hear or see.
-
Well, speaking of Rodgers & Hammerstein...Topic of the Day: the brand new studio recording of State Fair and the 20th Century-Fox Songbook (https://www.duttonvocalion.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=2CDLX7408) (but nothing else by R&S).
-
I ordered it directly from Dutton's (https://www.duttonvocalion.co.uk/) website. It was a few dollars cheaper than both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, so that made it worth it. :)
-
Wow, page 11 last night! A miracle unto itself.
-
And the word of the day is: FORTUITOUS!
11 pages are truly fortuitous.
-
Glad to hear vixmom enjoyed the play last night.
-
Congratulations, DR John G., on getting your much-needed medical test approved, at long last.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
73737!
-
Perhaps we shall give The Chelsea Detective a try.

Wasn't someone here just talking about coffee ice cream?
-
Slept better last night. Not feeling much better, though.

Wasn't someone here just talking about coffee ice cream?
For "National Read a Book Day" - There have also been some folks on here talking about reading a book.
-
Slept better last night. Not feeling much better, though.
Have you checked with a doctor about whether there's anything to take for this?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I knew I had an Amazon Fresh order coming between 6:00-8:00, so I was out of bed and dressed b y 6:15. The delivery usually arrived around 7:15, but not this morning! It arrived at 6:30, as I was feeding the cats.
-
I agree with most of BK's comments about the glorious and splendiferous Flower Drum Song, a wonderful movie adaptation, but Carousel remains my favorite R&H score. After a complete dud, Me and Juliet, they provided a wonderful score and lousy book for Pipe Dream, and then bounced back to finish off their collaboration brilliantly with Cinderella, and their trips to Chinatown and Salzburg.
-
I believe I will see Joshie today and get "Have an Egg Roll, Mr Goldstone."
-
I was very happy to see the arrest of the father of the Apalachee high school shooting.
-
Friday morning greetings! For National Coffee Ice Cream Day I may have to go to Graeter’s for some Mocha Chocolate Chip.

Great way to celebrate!

I do love coffee icecream

I would like to be a la y mom but unfortunately must go to work
-
I need to win the lottery
-
Perhaps I’ll buy a ticket
-
Got to buy a ticket or two boys…. Got to buy a ticket or two
-
If anybody sang that in their head my work here is finished
-
Well not really I have to Wordle
-
And go to work
-
I think I am talking in circles
-
Or echos
-
Just babbling along incoherently…..
-
Maybe a wordle will get my brain in gear

This has been the weirdest four-day week I've known in a very long time. Yesterday somehow felt like a Friday... until it felt like a Sunday night... and today doesn't feel much like a Friday at all.
-
TOD
Last night, Spielberg's "1941". Just because I hadn't seen it since 1980 and I'd been curious about it lately.
Wow. Some interesting things, and very interesting seeing the extensive cast now, but what a misfire. We're going to watch the very long Making Of soon, just to satisfy our curiosity about some things, and then that will be that.
-

I woke up this morning convinced that today was Saturday. Go figure.

I took a home test, DR Jane. COVID positive.

We have a small apartment. Once the DH tested positive, the outcome was inevitable.

I am going to attempt another nap during my lunch break today.

Thanks to DR VIXMOM for the theeder repor last night.
I had a missed call when I woke up this morning - it was prolly RDJ.
-
Well......my cousin Lita was walking down her ramp outside her front door, carrying a basket of laundry she had done for an older lady she takes care of.
She fell. Her husband was backing his van out of the driveway and didn't see her and ran her over.....breaking both her legs.
Three bones in the right leg took surgery to fix.....one bone in the left leg was set normally.
She is out of surgery and doing okay.....
-
And so now your day won't seem so bad
I know mine doesn't.
-
Page Three!
-
I am waiting for Phii Collins to sing a song named - Cat Cat Catio.

I think I will direct one of my actors to wave his arms around like a windmill - he will obviously be remembered by those in the audience.

11 pages are truly fortuitous.
Fortuosity. Lucky chances.

It might have been Cole Escola who is playing Mary Todd Lincoln in the play OH, MARY! There's a rumor that's being started right here that he'd like to follow up his Mary Todd Lincoln with a play about Frances Farmer. Who knows - maybe that was him.
-
That last post is a joke, for any of the Guests who are new here. :)

DR FREDDIE I know someone who has a script....

I'm up, I'm up - maybe five and a half hours of sleep - and I may try for another two or three in a little while, just a little while.

Back from the mail place and then banking. All is well.

Thankfully, I turned on the air prior to leaving so it's not bad here and is still cooling down.

I did manage to finish unpacking Mom's stuff.
Was your car full when you returned home?

Thankfully, I turned on the air prior to leaving so it's not bad here and is still cooling down.
You didn't comment, did my post jog your memory of hot September back to school days?
-
On this day in 1966 the high was 101 degrees.
-
It was also the first day of my last semester in high school.
-
Thanks everyone....the surgery was successful and we shall see what happens.
With every surgery for broken bones I have been extremely grateful I could still walk. Aside from the pain I know she is suffuring, I feel bad for her. I hope her casts aren't too high up on her legs.

Ray Bradbury's Moby Dick?
Yup. The last 10 minutes were great. The rest of the movie had its moments.
-
I did manage to finish unpacking Mom's stuff.
Was your car full when you returned home?
It had stuff in it. But it wasn’t overflowing. I just didn’t want half of what I brought back. My sisters foisted it off on me.

Starting a noir called The Chase with Robert Cummings and Peter Lorre. The print is horrible.
-
The villain in this is good and cruel.

It's important to show our respect to the ice cream, since ice cream has always been there for us.

I have a very good LP of the songs from Skyscraper performed by the Hollyridge Singers.

Not to be confused with the Hollyridge Strings.

Struggling through the novel Long Island Compromise. It's not as funny as it thinks it is. Though there are some outrageous bits.

Hello, George.

I watched The Chelsea Detectives a couple years ago and really liked S1. The female lead was replaced in S2 and the replacement just didn’t have her charm, IMO. Still worth watching.

I scheduled a Lyft ride to the ophthalmologist yesterday and was surprised when he showed up in a Tesla. I think it was my first time in a Tesla, which shocked the driver. “Don’t you use Lyft much?” As if all Lyft drivers drive Teslas. His was 2 years old when he bought it and half the price of a new one. He loves it.
-
Jane, the ophthalmologist gave me a sample of Ivizia eye drops. He likes them because there are no preservatives. They’re a bit thicker than usual and are supposed to last foe 8 hours. Available from Amazon in either a bottle or single-use vials. I’m giving them a try.
Have you tried them? I hadn’t heard of them.

It’s 92 here. I can’t get the apartment below 80, even with AC and a fan. Gawd!

Has this been discussed here?
The director of the gender-switched COMPANY is hoping to make a movie of that version of the show.
https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Tony-Winner-Marianne-Elliott-Is-Hoping-for-A-COMPANY-Film-20240905?

It sounds like it's just an idea at this point. The director said:
“I hope it will happen...We’ll see. I think we have to get the rights first, so we have to go to the estate and see. But yeah, I hope so, actually.“

For a movie, is there any reason they can't dub some of the singing, like Hollywood used to?

Who isn't hoping to make a movie? They've been talking a Follies movie for fifty years now.

Barbra was "hoping" to make Gypsy.

Glenn Close is "hoping" to make Sunset Blvd.

I'm "hoping" to make the Kritzer books and GEE into movies, along with all my other fiction books.

I haven't heard of them or tried them. I find it hard to imagine them lasting eight hours. Please let me know if you like them. I like my Biotrue (in a bottle) very much and they are the best drops I have ever used. I wish my doctor had samples of it to try.

Has anyone seen the movie version of Dear Evan Hansen?

I heard they made some changes to the story line for the movie.

Didn't they add a song "I Do Not Care for Page Seven"

Page Eight will be found!

Probably, DR Freddie.

Feel-better vibes to you and your DH, singdaw.

Good night, friends.

re Dear Evan Hansen: There were changes for the movie, and I think they were better for the movie.
-
Gratuitous post 220!
-
Excellent production. Top-notch performances. But I am not sold on the show.
-
I know that Sondheim fellow preached the gospel of saying things three times so people latch on to something, but there is so much repetition in act one that it just feels way too long. I'd be willing to bet BK could trim 10-20 minutes without anyone noticing.
-
The big change for the movie was to make Evan middle-aged.
-
Started listening to Lempicka on the way home. I wish I had seen the show. It's audacious in such a vulgar way that I am enjoying how good bad it all is.
-
The very first rhyme in the show is a false rhyme.
-
The big change for the movie was to make Evan middle-aged.
Ha! He got held back a decade or so.

That doesn't seem to happen anymore. They make the weak voices seem stronger rather than hire stronger (or al least, better than average) singers.

Starting late.

I'll try to write quickly.
-
I’m already a fair way into Directed By.
-
Let’s get a fair way onto page 9.
-
Here we are!
9th Avenue.
-
BK, what can you tell me about Cerberus Records, the label that released “Together Again” and also a few albums by David Spear who did the music to The Creature Wasn’t Nice? Is it a coincidence that Spear and you had projects on that label?
-
I don’t recall if the label was mentioned in Album Produced By…
-
Congrats, Rodzinski! You just rolled over 10000+ posts! :D
-
