Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the Hokey Pokey, the Hokey DietCokey, and other such things, and now it is time for you to post until the Hokey Pokey cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GALVANIZE!
-
Topic of the Day: I can remember only one time when I was a kid I went to some school dance (and I'm not even sure about that) and I did The Hustle...I think. ::)

Good morning, friends.

Gadzooks!! Late nite exigesises!

Who decides these things?

It's Friday, y'all!

I never answered yesterday's TOD, but:
Chicken Parmesan
Chicken Marbella (The Silver Palate Cookbook)
-
TODAY'S TOD:
I used to square dance quite a bit. And I enjoyed it.
SWING your corner!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Horrible night of sleep, partially the cats, partially dinner. More below.
-
DR Rodzinski, thank you for the late night birthday greetings.
-
Most of my day was spent at the computer; I had close to 500 birthday posts to respond to, along with several emails. Joshie arrived around 11:15 with "Everything's Coming Up Roses," and we had a nice visit. He never stays too long because of his allergies to cats. I had to get a new front door key to the set of my keys that he has, and I gave him that. Now they all work.
-
Yesterday morning, on her way to work, Ann stopped by tro wish me a happy day amd she told me that she and Jen were buying my birthday dinner. Jen came down around 2:00, on her way to walk Oscar, and we settled on a 4:30 delivery from El Mitote, my favorite Mexican restaurant since Cafe Frida closed. The meal was delicious: black bean soup, chicken enchiladas, beans ands rice, and tres leches for dessert. And a bag of chips and guacamole.
It was fantastic, but I'm afraid it may be my last Mexzican dinner: it talked back all night long, amd my body feels beat up this morning.

I'm taking it very easy today. I'll work on the song, and I need to dig out a storage carton to hold the Gypsy scores as I finish my proofs.

BK, I don't care if I'm mentioned in the Gypsy reconstruction. This is one where I am the low man on thje totem pole; Joshie and Jason Buell are running this, and I'm simply proofreading, questioning things and decisions, and cleaning up reading issues, like lyrics, wrong accidentas, note collisions, etc. I'm simply grateful to be working.
Before the pandemic, a new musical was ready to roll into production with orchestrations by Joshie and me. Since March 2020, there hasn't been a word about it.
-
DR George, I love Judy Collins. I am so jealous you saw her last night. She lives in the neioghborhood; I used to see her at Barnes & Noble when I worked there between 1999 and 2005.

I wonder if anyone has ever attempted a Sondheim Concordance?

You could look up every song where he used the word "cat."

My last embarrassing dinner at Cafe Frida, 2019, when they bring out the birthday cake and you wear the sombrero.

Hmm, in a pasta bowl rather than the frozen food packaging, that MIGHT be somewhat less unappetizing.

Maybe after riding the bull, it could be your dinner that would end up being all about - tossed all about the table, anyway.

The first episode of The Bob Newhart Show in 1972 featured Penny Marshall as a stewardess.

It would be considerate behavior if they did. But did those project choosers get where they've gotten by being considerate?

From DR Vixmom:
Oh, Jane,I actually tried Penzeys for the first time in 2016 because I wanted to be supportive of their political message and discovered what wonderful spice blends sell.
I first became aware of their controversial comments, thought not against Republicans. It was in a Jewish food group I follow where members were trying to find alternatives to Penzeys due to their antisemitic comments. I determined the comments were not antisemitic though I understood why they were seen to be.
-
DR Rodzinski, cute about Pirate Day at school.

The talking heads in this Huston documentary are incredible. Robert Mitchum narrates. Paul Newman, Arthur Miller, Lauren Bacall, his kids, his ex-wives, his production crew. They are all good.
-
This documentary covers or at least mentions every movie of Huston’s until you get late in his career. There are images from the set of Annie, Victory and Under the Volcano without mentioning the title. And Wise Blood’s author, Flannery O’Connor is mentioned, but the movie isn’t named. Prizzi’s Honor and The Dead are treated a little better.

DR George, did Judy Collins sing the wonderful "My Father"? It's a real killer.
I don't know. I didn't get to see the first 15 or so minutes because we had to close down concessions, and then we could go in to watch the show, so if she sang it, it could've been then...unless it's more of a near-the-end-of-the-show song.
-

Sweet! ;D
-
So, most likely, I won't be home before the day changes.
-
I'm at my mom's and we're watching the Rachel Maddow new documentary, From Russia with Lev, and it ends at midnight left coast time.
-
So far, it's really good!
-
Hopefully, it'll be broadcast or streamed again.
-
I am seriously beginning to question my well-worn sanity.
-
I not only thought I'd posted when I got up this morning, I thought I'd been posting throughout the day.
-
Like a lot of posts.
-
Like at least thirty posts.
-
It's rather alarming.
-
Because in reality, I posted a big fat zero posts.
-
All that, and now the page that shall not be named.
-
What the HELL is going on here?
-
Well, I must make up for lost time.
-
Lost time loves when I'm in makeup. Rouge on my knees, cherry red lips, some peek-a-boo eye liner.
-
I have not helped the page count this day.
-
But I ain't down yet.
-
I'm currently eating a California roll for a snack.
-
I had a craving and a craving I had.
-
It good and nice and light.
-
Light as air.
-
But is air really light?
-
The light in the piazza.
-
When that movie came out, I thought it was The Light in the Pizza.
-
Better title.
-
I'm dancing as fast as I can and I do want us off this damn page.
-
And George is off lounging in the moonlight, eating a burrito under the stars.
-
I've never eaten a burrito under a star and let's just leave it at that.
-
Did I achieve a new number of interest? I think so.
-
I really do.
-
This is the page that goes on forever.
-
But I'm here for the duration.
-
And the duration is here for me.
-
The duration was here for me earlier but I was nowhere to be seen.
-
Because I thought, erroneously, that I'd been posting all day long.
-
The California Roll is just what the doctor ordered. Also, the lawyer ordered it and so did the CPA.
-
The doctor and the lawyer also ordered it for the Indian chief.
-
The never-ending page.
-
Page eight must be around here somewhere.
-
And yet.
-
Where, for heaven's sake.
-
See?
-
Classic gaslighting from the page that shall not be named.
-
But page eight has made its entrance and I believe that I am the only poster on the page that shall not be named. Take THAT.
-
I can keep going.
-
I'm like the energizer bunny.
-
The light in the piazza.
What a coikydink! I just found my VHS tapes (recorded in SP) of the TV broadcast of this show. Hopefully, it'll look better than a version that I've found online.
-
I'm not even going to stop and smell the roses because the roses no longer smell, and whoever thought THAT was a good idea is a first-class nitwit.
-
Who decided to make flowers not smell anymore.
-
And when was that decided.
-
Let us name and shame the cretin.
-
And George is off lounging in the moonlight, eating a burrito under the stars.
Nope. I'm still at my mom's watching:
From Russia with Lev (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NOE98F0Qg84)
This is a YouTube link. Hopefully, it'll be available for a while.
-
Oh, I see.
-
But I did have a burrito!
-
They now breed them to have longevity and said breeding removes the aroma.
-
But for me, if flowers aren't fragrant, what the HELL is the point.
-
The point is moot.
-
I want fragrance. Nothing in the world smells better than roses - one of the greatest smells of all smells.
-
Hence, stop and smell the roses.
-
Today, we stop and smell the longevity.
-
THAT is progress, baby.
-
I no longer wish to be on this page.
-
I do think I've atoned for my sins, posting-wise.
-
And George is still at mom's.
-
Call me Ishmael.
-
What am i, Moby Dick all of a sudden?
-
Has anyone here actually read Moby Dick?
-
When I was younger, I read the first sentence.
-
I enjoyed it very much.
-
Has anyone read all 1200 pages of War and Peace?
-
What if you only want to read War but you don't want read Peace?
-
Page nine has made its entrance.
-
A fine entrance it was, too.
-
It moved me.
-
Three feet to the left.
-
And now i am off-center.
-
And who isn't in this crazy world in which we live.
-
No dangling things at the ends of my sentences, baby.
-
George ate a burrito.
-
That is comforting to know.
-
New notes going up shortly.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
