Well, you've read the notes, the notes were of their own making, and now it is time for you to post until the of their own making cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SCRUMPTIOUS!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
BK, I forgot to mention last night that I voted in the BroadwayWord Awards thing. :)

From last night: Jane, I'm so sorry about Salty. :(

I've also voted for the BroadwayWorld awards and got the confirmation email. Hope your two actors up for the same award don't split the vote too much!
It was also nice to get the chance to vote for Julia Bullock in a category that didn't compete with 70.
-
They finally updated everything, so we've now moved up considerably in every category - I'm now in fourth position, for example. Please have your friends vote, too - the more the merrier.
-
Good morening, all!

I slept well for the first four hours. Then I woke with some respiratory issues that kept me awake for maybe an hour. Then I slept for a couple of hours until Thatch jumped into bed to cuddle. My winterize4d bed keeps m,e very snug, but I need to rethink the positioning of the comforter today. It lies too heavy on the bed.

Today I hope to see Joshie, who's been tied up since last Thursday with Gypsy orchestra rehearsals. Jen is coming down to help with my Instagram-Google issues. I had an Instagram snafu ago Sunday, and now I cannot log back on.
I keep getting a screen saying "Help Us Confirm It's You" in reCAPTCHA from Google. So, there's a box to click on "I am not a robot." I click on it, and I have to click on all pictures of bridges, mountains, bicycles, buses, and so on. The problem is, I'm on a loop, and I keep getting back to "Help U&s Confirm It's You." When I click on "Terms" under the reCAPTCHA logo, I get this:

I also need to schedule Access-a-Ride this morning, and as far as I know, that's my day.

DR Jrand74, I'm so sorry to learn the news about your friend.

Today is the birthday of my high school friend, and DR Ginny's husband, Richard. Eleven years ago we had this wonderful birthday celebration at the late, great Arties.

Nice photo!

Happy Birthday, DH Richard!!!

Good morning, friends.

And others.

Happy Birthday Richard
-
It’s been a very busy few days but if you were to ask what I’ve been doing I couldn’t tell you
-
But the hours flew by
-
I’m not caught up
-
Good morning.
-
Well I caught up to yesterday, Jack I am so very sorry about your friend.
-
Jane I am sorry about Salty
-
Good morning, all.
-
I know it was yesterdays TOD but I love soup
-
Happy birthday, Richard!
-
Veselka’s beef borscht with a dollop of sour cream is a wonderful treat
-
I love potato soup, especially mine own homemade when I have a nice ham bone and left over ham to include in the making, I prefer russet potatoes
-
Although sometimes the hambone will be used in making a nice thick pea soup
-
I love chicken rice or chicken noodle soup especially if it’s thick with veggies
-
And Greek chicken lemon soup is wonderful,
-
There was a little old Greek man who worked in the cafe at one of my former offices who would occasionally make this and it was amazing
-
I have occasionally made a shortcut cheat version of this with Campbell’s cream of chicken soup as a starting point
-
I had butternut squash soup for lunch yesterday
-
Good morning, all.
-
It was Lidls own brand to which I added some sunflower kernels
-
The sandwich was a leftover from brunch with Vixdad on Monday
A really delicious, “slider” with grilled portobello mushrooms, mozzarella and roasted red peppers in a house made, grilled roll
Soooo good

A very Happy Birthday to DH Richard!
I well remember that evening at Artie's, Jose dropping by later, and I think that was when I had first discovered Stew Leonard's pumpkin raisin cookies and brought a bag down for DR Elmore. Is that correct? Or a couple of you shared them? Something like that. Anyway, I know that was my first time meeting vixmom, and quite possibly DR Ginny (plus Richard) as well. Eleven years ago. Wow.
-
I love tomato soup, regular, bisque, cream of ….

Today is preparation day.
Have done my first drop in the "operative eye".
I find I have to acquire some grape or cranberry juice. As a diabetic, I take half a daily insulin dose tonight and drink 8 ounces of one of those two juices two hours before my 9:35 a.m. procedure.
Otherwise, that's it. Dress comfortably; leave all valuables at home.
-
Seeing vixmom's lunch from yesterday, I suddenly had a wistful pang about large desk calendars.
-
The closing of Artie's was a crime, to deli lovers and to the neighborhood itself. I'm still angry when anything like that happens.
That was my first time there, and I think DR Elmore and I had three or four subsequent visits there for lunch. It was comfortable, the people were nice, the food was fine, and ... well, don't get me started. Oh wait, you already did. :)
-
Good luck on the one-day prep and first cataract surgery tomorrow, DR Ron Pulliam.
I forget the details now, but I had to start eye drops a week or more before, and those and other drops continued for a few weeks after. That's the only pain in the ASS about the thing. The drops regime seems to vary among various doctors and patients.
Other than that, as the anesthesiologist told me while I was lying there waiting for the surgery, this is literally the easiest surgery you can have, just relax and enjoy. You walk in, my place had us lie down on the cart (that'll be wheeled in to the surgical room, you don't even have to move from it), fully dressed (with a smile, of course), and you're given coffee and a cookie afterward and wheeled out to your ride. Then just do nothing (I slept a lot) the rest of the day, and Bob's your uncle. Actually, I don't think I got an Uncle Bob, but everything else worked out fine.
-
If I want to see Small Things Like These at the theater, I have to go today or tomorrow.
-
Surgery vibes for DR Ron Pulliam.
-
Indian pudding??
Would that be with maize...or curry?
My thoughts. I do like rice pudding at an Indian restaurant, but I doubt it's the same.
-
A cold front is moving in. I may have to make soup.
-
The birthday dinner and meetup at Artie's is a wonderful eleven-year anniversary this week.
There's also a ten-year anniversary this very week: the Kritzerland Richard Sherman fest at Triad in NYC. Click to enlarge.
-
That was also my one time to meet and chat for a few minutes with the WONDERFUL Marni Nixon.
-
After which, DRs Elmore and Ben and Ginny and DH Richard (who am I leaving out? maybe no one?) and Kristi and Nathan and I went to a diner down the block or around the corner, I forget exactly where it was, and had the most delightful visit and conversation. Those were the days, man.

I was at the Kritzerland Richard Sherman show that night. I'm not sure if I went to the diner afterwards.
-
Skip and I went to the next night's Kritzerland show as well, in which a medley of two songs by Skip was (or is it "were" for a two-song medley?) included.
-
There was also an HHW gathering with Larry at a diner after several of us saw the show that Larry worked on in 2017, THE NEW YORKERS.
John G was also there that afternoon.
I have a photo of the group somewhere, with the NEW YORKERS poster in the background.
-
I can't find the photo of the group of us at THE NEW YORKERS in front of City Center, but I recall seeing it as if it were yesterday.
-
But DR FREDDIE it's today!
-
DR RON PULLIAM I buy the Healthy Choice Cranberry Juice at Dollar (25) Tree.
It is very low cal and low carb - and it comes in many flavors.
-
Thanks to all for your thoughts about Mark.
-
The Light Fantastic looks most interesting. i have bookmarked it.
-
MR BK is still in 4th place director-wise.
Barry Pearl is in 2nd place for......Footloose.

You didn't, but I also went back the next night and I remember you and Skip there as well.
That's when everyone was hanging out and relaxing afterward and I got that beautiful (in my opinion, at any rate) picture of Richard with not-so-little-any-more (I shall assume) Hadley Belle Miller. Which is on another drive and I can't get to it now.

Thank you DR Singdaw.

MY question for ASK BK DAY......(and other HHW'ers.)
Do you speak/understand a language other than English?
I speak/understand Spanish - about 60%.
I also use Signed English Language.....but not ASL - American Sign Language - so much.
-
You are sweet DR Rodzinski. Thank you.
-
From Rodzinski:
My thermostat is in Celsius, too. I’m really just pretending to be American.
;D
-
We got the youngsters their Canadian passports, so if we have to slip out of the U.S. full-time, it shouldn’t be too difficile.
That's great but how do you slip out?

I believe we went to the Utopia on Amsterdam between 72 amd 73.

That sounds right. On Bing Maps it looked like it may be gone now, but I grabbed this street image from Google Maps. (I'm so happy when those sites don't get updated too quickly.)

I slept for an additional 90 minutes. It was good.

I need to play with the bird a little.
-
Indian pudding??
It's kind of ironic there's a "National" day for it, since as this board shows, few outside of New England have ever heard of it.
It's an old-fashioned New England dessert, a pudding made from cornmeal and molasses. The old Durgin Park restaurant used to serve it, but I don't know who does any more since they closed.
-
It was fun to try a couple of times, but I like chocolate and fruit desserts better.

I was at both shows.
I remember Vixdad gifted me a hotel room for the weekend and I stayed at a place right by the world trade center before the viewing tower reopened
-
I had the rest of my butternut squash soup today

But a less fancy side, turkey & Muenster on a seeded brioche roll with a little mayo

The batteries are only there in case of power failure.....your system settings will stay set.
So I learned something. And it was $59......BUT knowledge is power!

My mom buys that all the time, but it's not real juice, only flavored water. If you need the benefits of the juice, you gotta get the real stuff. :-\

We had our six month check at the dermatologist this morning.
I went in with a long list of spots I was concerned about, or wanted removed as they bothered me. I was sprayed close to twenty times-ouch. A number of the spots, including the one on my nose, were pre-cancerous so I am very glad I caught them early. She also found a few pre-cancerous ones I had not noticed.

The director needs to put one gal, who had to be away the past two nights, into all the dialogue. So they're going to work on that exclusively. That, and a few dance things that they already know all the "counts" for and can work on without me pounding on the ivories plastics.

Wednesday evening greetings!
Today is the birthday of my high school friend, and DR Ginny's husband, Richard. Eleven years ago we had this wonderful birthday celebration at the late, great Arties.
It is, indeed, Richard’s birthday. We celebrated with an appointment with our financial advisor and lunch at Bullwinkle’s in Miamisburg (Dayton ‘burb).
Thank you DR Elmore for posting this great memory!
-
DR JANE I probably would have found it online if I had kept looking - but I was taking the entire cover of the thermostat off.....I didn't know how to remove just the battery cover where the batteries and reset button are located.

We visited NYC at this time of year in 2013, 2014, and 2015, and the first 2 trips included Richard’s birthday. I really miss those times, but I’m not sure either one of us has the stamina for New York anymore.

Here's an Amazon first: I needed dishwashing detergent, so on Nov. 3 I ordered a pack of 3 bottles for $15.oo from Amazon, as I usually do, on Nov. 3. Usually, it arrives in 2-3 days. Only this time, I was told it would arriver by Nov. 11, eight days later. I thought, well, I've got enough to last by then. Then . . . Amazon changed the arrival date today, and last night the remaining I had.
This morning I checked my order: due to arrive today by 10:00. I couldn't figure out why a UPS carton shipped on Nov. 3 - according to tracking number - took ten days to arrive.
Just now, I got anm ermail from Amazon saying the carton would not arrive until Nov. 19! I called amazon customer service, told them to refund my money, and blow the fucking order out their ass.

So if a baby is born at 1:59am, and then its twin is born 2 minutes later, but the clocks were turned back and so now it's 1:01am, which twin is older? Because the one born second will be younger on paper, but the one born first is actually two minutes older?

You could also have the situation with twins born on either side of New Year's Eve. Minutes apart, but different dates of birth in different years!

Good night, Jane
-
You could also have the situation with twins born on either side of New Year's Eve. Minutes apart, but different dates of birth in different years!
And could even have been in different centuries!
That could get confusing! :)
-
It is still raining here......not buckets.....but maybe cereal bowls.
-
Last night Luka Garza wore his canary yellow sneakers when the Timberwolves played the Portland Trailblazers.
Tonight they play them again....about 12 minutes from now.
My guess is he didn't pack TWO pairs of shoes, but we shall see.
-
Poor bayou boy
Though thou hast surely strayed ...
Or maybe Poor wondering one
-
It seems many folks are deserting "X" for BlueSky.
Great though I don't know what BlueSky is, yet ;D
I don't either. :-\
-
There's another platform called Tribel that a bunch of people supposedly went to, but I haven't heard much about that. It still exists, and I have an account there, but even the few people I follow there haven't posted much.
-
DR GEORGE I have no words.
I haven't been reading any of the reports or watching tv news for awhile....a bit of the local news.
But I know that narcissist never gets along with anyone for any length of time, and my guess is that a good number of them will be gone before Jan. 21.
And the relentless ruthless and petty ambition of ALL of his followers vying for attention and posts will probably cause them to eat each other like sharks as they try to outdo each other.....

We started watching the series TRACKER, which is complicated but fun, or maybe fun because it's complicated - even if more than a little bit violent. A private eye type searching for people's whereabouts.
-
John Fugelsang just tweeted (Xed?):
-
And then this got retweeted (reXed):
Purple Rain is closer in time to World War II than today. Enjoy your evening.
-
Those two tweets (Xs) are unrelated. Just sharing. ;)
-
And since we're so close...
-
Gratuitous Post #200!! ;D
-
And then this got retweeted (reXed):

Profound thought!
-
Watching a very meta Greek movie called The Summer with Carmen. Two gay men on a nude beach in Athens try to write a screenplay about two gay men on a nude beach in Athens. Carmen is a dog.

Purple Rain is coming to Broadway. So it’ll be new again soon.
-
Has anyone seen Moonflower Murders?
-
Got it from the library today.
-
The library I worked at. Felt weird not to be there for voting.
-
So close to being beyond page 7 - and before 10:30 pm (Eastern)!
-
That's a good HHW posting day, isn't it?
-
Onward!
-
Eight!

Thanks for the surgery vibes.
I am still having anxiety and hope I don't lose sleep because of it.
I am not afraid of the surgery, but...it's my EYE!!!
I sure hope the sedation makes me not care.
-
All hail the idiocy of Trump:
Matt Gaetz is nominated for Attorney General.
That is likely the most asinine, insane and supremely stupid move Trump has ever made.
Gaetz, in Congress, never did a thing...never anything constructive, never anything patriotic and never anything commendable.
There is a chance he will not be confirmed as a few Republicans are very much against it.
-
More vibes for Ron.
-
Good night, all.
-
Ever since the Gaetz news I just keep thinking of Derek Jacobi saying ,"Let all the poison that lurks in the mud, hatch out." in I, Claudius
-
The Gaetz thing is beyond belief.
-
Only the best.
-
Trying to watch a movie and wondering how it's already nine o'clock. The movie isn't good so far - something that came out just a couple of months ago - it sounded like it might be good but it's just to cliched and looks like every other theater mystery of the last few years - you know, the Knives Out kind of thing.

Oh. I was never a Prince fan, so I won't be interested in it.
-
Dreadful movie finished.
-
Dreary and not at all like what one would expect.
-
And calling it a "thriller" is hilarious.
-
Why not? Just a total circus of madness in D.C. What could go wrong?
-
Ordered some clam chowder as a little warm-me-up late-night snackerooni.
-
Eddie kushi kashi kama toseneara-tosenoka
Sama Kama Wacky Brown.
-
I believe every one of these positions was promised PRIOR to the election, to keep these miscreants on his side.
-
I just do.
-
Guess I'll write some notes now.
-
We got the youngsters their Canadian passports, so if we have to slip out of the U.S. full-time, it shouldn’t be too difficile.
That's great but how do you slip out?
We’d move.
-
Mrs Rodz is in Germany. Jus’ me and the kids this week.
-
The Kingston Trio gets all the buzz, but these kids in The Brothers Four are fire.
-
Surgery relaxation vibes for Ron P.
-
And happy birthday to Richard. (Still his birthday here)
-
The Light Fantastic looks most interesting. i have bookmarked it.
It’s sweet. I only ever heard of it because somehow it had a soundtrack LP I found once.
-
Once, there were green fields… kissed by the sun.
-
On a Brothers Four kick, if that’s not clear.
-
Why not? Just a total circus of madness in D.C. What could go wrong?
Oh, nothing...just the end of this country as we know it. ::)
-
On a Brothers Four kick, if that’s not clear.
Is that anything like The Manhattan Transfer's Four Brothers (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XdKEAyxrPd8)?
;)
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
All that and page NINE!
-
Like vintage wine.
