Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of a Mexican restaurant Thanksgiving dinner, and now it is time to post until the Mexican cows come home.

And the word of the day is: VICTUALS!

And now - Dino at the piano.

I finished cleaning up my Thanksgiving dinner dishes and the cats' dinner dishes arou4:30. BY 5:00, when I gave them their daily treat, I was so tired I could barely move. I lay down with Stella, Annabelle, and the TV for company and fought to stay awake while I read more of Josh Rosenblum's book on Maltby & Shire. Since I did not care for either Baby or Big,, I soon got bored with the book (no mention of the great Return too Oz film score?). By 8:00 I could not keep awake, so I went to bed. Thatch stopped playing and slept all night with me.
-
When the alarm rang at 5:30, I turned it off, went back to bed and slept for another hour.
-
All three cats ate their breakfast - Annabelle usually doesn't eat so Stella and Thatch eat hers - and I had my coffee with one of the huge, and delicious, biscuits from yesterday's delivery with the cinnamon-sugar butter.
-
I am happy that everyone seemed to have a delicious day.
-
I have no plans for the day. I will probably spend it refining the sequel to Annabelle & Thatch, which I wrote in 2022, after I finished my prostate cancer radiation. Now that A&T is heading into actual publication, I'll see if there's anmy demand for a second book. I'm now just a little past the halfway mark on the second book.

Seven years ago today, our DR ChasSmith walked into my apartment around 11:00a.m. to find a young Annabelle and baby Thatch sleeping together in DR Laura's covered bed. The war was over, and Annabelle and Thatch were bonded.
DR ChasSmith took this photo:
-
Mary Poppins: The Untold Story that I think DR John G. or DR George posted about a few days ago is now available for streaming on Hulu.
-
Love the photo of Annabelle and baby Thatch.
-
Good morning.
-
Aww, Annabelle and Baby Thatch. Very sweet.
-
Leonard has been sleeping in his heated bed lately.
-
My son bought the heated bed for his cat. After she passed, he brought it over, and Joshie slept in it. Now it belongs to Leonard.

My Thanksgiving was really quite nice! Butch and Sharon and I made our 90-minute trek to Simpsonville SC in good spirits. The time went by quickly as we caught up on all that has happened in our lives since last we met.
I had not realized quite so much time had gone by, but we last were together before Hurricane Helene. Sharon has two houses...one was hers and one her mothers. As her mother's had been retrofitted for a handicapped person with extra wide doors, etc., she and Butch stay there when he is in town. He has a GP practice in Gilbert SC and a house in Lexington where he stays about three days a week. Sharon's house is next door to her mom's and it's a beauty, but the hurricane shifted the house off its foundations!!! She is dealing with that, plus both houses will be getting new roofs as soon as it's all sorted out.
Insurance is the holdup as on-site inspections, estimations, etc., take time. Since so many people were affected, the insurance business is struggling to keep up with the demands.
-
Continuing the Thanksgiving tale:
Ashley, Butch's daughter, and Clay, her husband, had everything under wonderfully organized control when we arrived. The house smelled heavenly.
We ate at noon. Turkey, ham, hickory-smoked ribs, two dressings and a gravy (prepared by Clay), a cheese and pineapple casserole, sweet potato casserole, green beans and yeast rolls were the bill of fare.
I ate sparingly, enjoying each morsel.
Clay's three sons were there with friends. Those guys are a spirited group, and the politest young men. That also includes Ashley's son, Anderson. I love to be around them. They, obviously, prefer their own age groups, but they are personable and polite enough to engage in conversation with us older coots, too. I remember being their age and having to answer lots of questions from much older folks I hadn't seen in a year or so. I hope I was as congenial as these boys were!
-
Continuing:
We had a great visit, Butch had a nap, and we left around 3:30. The trip home seemed longer than the trip up there, but we arrived at 5 and I got in my car for my drive back to Johnston. I got home around 5:35 p.m.
Sharon and I live in the same county, but she is on the northern edge and I'm somewhere way south. It's a large county, but mostly agricultural.

Today begins a three-day period of gustatorial abstinence for my Monday morning colonoscopy.
While my major prep begins Sunday evening, I am not allowed much of anything, food-wise, until then as of 6:30 this morning. I can eat clear liquids as long as there is nothing red. So, tomato soup, cherry or strawberry kool-aid, cherry or strawberry jello...all forbidden. Nothing solid. No ice cream.
Beef and chicken broth and coffee are about the only things I'm allowed to safely eat.
I do not recall this strict regimen being imposed last year. Only abstinence was the day before, unless, of course, I ignored their instructions.
I can only take certain medications: Only those for hypertension or heart conditions. Funny enough, I take blood thinner for my atrial fibrillation, but that is forbidden. All else must wait for three days.
On the one hand, it does free me up from wondering what I want to eat and where I will get it or whether I'll prepare it. On the other hand, I suddenly have a craving for things I don't usually eat.
Sigh.

Yep, no more 7, either. And it's not new, it's just what I'm transitioning everyone to, and it's taken a while.
Hopefully, I'll eventually get it down to where only Comcast/Xfinity uses that address, and only because they're the provider of it.

Jane - We watched TRACKER, season 2, episode 6, which (if I read things right) took place in Washington State.
I think I see what you mean about the quality of the episode. The plot twists and even the dialogue felt on a high level, almost the quality of a good (though short) movie in many ways.

It reminded us of our beautiful Olympic National Falls. I needed to search where the falls were located, and found they are in BC at Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park.

I don’t remember much of The Merry Gentleman. It’s both bleaker and more unexpected than I had thought.
-
Yes to carrot cake pie.

I could keep going...

...but you get the idea.
-
If you get my meaning.
-
And I know you do.

I think the MegaMillions drawing is over four hundred million tonight.
-
Win it, won't you, DR vixmom?
-
I have started the Broadway version of Holiday Inn, which Tom used to enjoy.
-
The cast, especially Corbin Blue, is game, but it just feels made for summer stock.
-
it just feels made for summer stock.
My aunt has an old barn! We could put on a show!!
-
I think the biggest problem is that none of the changes improves on the original.
-
The Christmas river parade is tonight.

Very cool!
-
I didn't care for the Broadway clips of the parade yesterday.
I haven't seen any yet. I didn't even hear about which ones were going to be shown. :-\
Death Becomes Her and Hell’s Kitchen were the two biggies I saw.
Thanks. I'm sure some (if not all) will be on the Tube of You soonly.
-
George, is it too soon for a Millstone Alert - 69 posts away
-
I’m thinking yes.

Yummy!!

Why, no, it isn't! :)
-
As nice as some of the floats were, the wait between them was loooong.
The slow boat to China the Christmas River Parade.

George, is it too soon for a Millstone Alert
Never!

Didn't the original Holiday Inn movie have some questionable racist elements? Or was that White Christmas? :-\
-
It's been years since I've seen either movie.
-
Gratuitous Post #250!!

There’s a blackface routine in Holiday Inn.

Ah. ::)
-
Finished watching a documentary - very nostalgic.
-
For many reasons.
-
More about that in the notes.
-
Someone just let me know there was a tribute to Henry Mancini on PBS.
-
So, that will be next.
-
Just ran around the house for ten minutes.
-
I tried to do some jumping jacks, too, but I guess those days are over.
-
Notes are written.
-
Nobody here but us turkeys.
-
No George.
-
No jam.
-
No burrito.
-
Just li'l ol' me.
-
I do think that page ten is waiting in the wings.
-
May the force be with page ten.
-
See?
-
We enforced the force, forcefully.
-
I'm really hungry.
-
Nothing here except the last package of oyster crackers. I guess I could have that.
-
Certainly, I don't want to have anything major this late.
-
I am, after all, on a path.
-
I must not stray.
-
Except for my birthday, a belated birthday dinner, and the Christmas Eve Do.
-
Those will have to be stray days, although I'll try not to stray TOO far.
-
To stray too far would be unseemly.
-
Still no George.
-
I need oyster crackers.
-
I'd really like a nice bowl of clam chowder, but too late for that.
-
thought about getting a dinner salad but I'll be strong.
-
I really need to keep some cheese and crackers here for this kind of thing.
-
No George.
I'm here. :)
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
No jam.
No burrito.
Today, I went to Subway because I had a coupon to get a foot-long for only $7.99!
-
The sub I got [The Boss...meatballs, pepperoni, and double cheese (I chose pepperjack)] is normally $13.99!
-
I had half of it for lunch, and the other half for dinner.
-
Quite delish!
