Yes, now all signs are pointing to it being a scam. I ordered some stuff and looked it up, and this whole sale is likely a scam.

Didn't know about that musical, DR Freddie. Thank you.
My middle sister Myrna is 68 years old today.
DR FREDDIE some folks are envious of the accomplishments of others.....they are not worth a moment's thought.
Nice links.
I like Double Indemnity except for two things:
Barbara Stanwyck's wig AND Fred's apartment door opening INTO the hallway - which is crucial for a moment in the film......
I did not open the link. I doubt I want to know.
No, Jane. You don't. ::)

It’s something else entirely.
Someone did a similar thing about Rebecca Luker on a Gypsy thread.
Someone did a similar thing about Rebecca Luker on a Gypsy thread. The original poster said that Danny Burstein and Audra had a real relationship in Gypsy, of course, meaning the characters seemed like they had a real relationship. Well, some idiot came in and posted how dare you insinuate that Danny and Audra are having a relationship - how dare you smear the memory of Rebecca Luker. I mean, that is the very definition of insanity and we all went in and told him off - and of course, he never came back or apologized or removed his stupid post.
Fred, where is this Luker post - Facebook? Tell me the group.
I'm in the mood.

One does not ever need to “try” to sow havoc among musical theatre folk.

The thing I mentioned the other day of being blocked on Facebook by the fellow name Stephen Farrow (whom I don't know) may make sense - it turns out he's someone on All that Chat and was on All That Chat when I'd been posting a lot there. So I may have had some on-ATC disagreements with him under his screen name without knowing his real name.

Do you know what filling they use in their blintzes? I'm referring to cottage cheese vs farmer's cheese plus cream cheese.

These blintzes were a terrific blend of farmer's cheese, ricotta and cottage cheese.

We're back from a delightful trip to Baltimore to see family for the holidays. The organic fair trade dark chocolate Hanukkah gelt was well received. This is the first time I can ever recall Hanukkah starting on Christmas, though I'm sure it's happened before.
Today's our full day at home before heading up to San Francisco tomorrow for my birthday dinner.
So Gertrude Lawrence introduced "Someone to Watch Over Me" in Oh, Kay! She made two recordings around that time: one in New York in 1926 and one in London in 1927.

Apropos of last night's posts
Rebecca Luker singing Rusty Magee's song "The Green Heart"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOTLO0hMIdY
It's the title song from "The Green Heart" - the Charles Busch-Rusty Magee musical that came from the same source material as the movie "A New Leaf"
Then Vixdads sister called and we had a nice long chat with her
And my right eye is itchy and weepy
BK jokes from time to time "Is there gaslighting going on?"
This is a weird situation that sure feels like gaslighting, someone trying to present an alternate reality:
I'd posted some material about the original musical TANGLED WEBS which we'd created from scratch for Rebecca Luker, who then did the publicized reading and then all the demos for the show.
Here's where it got weird and gaslight-y, that someone took the trouble to react angrily and comment something malicious
"JefE commented
"You are not honoring Rebecca Luker. You are jerking yourself off and promoting yourself. Shame on you!"
--------------
But the show was indeed, in fact, created from thin air, from scratch, for Rebecca - and her having stated in various ways in interviews and in person things like “I wish I had branched out a little more,” she said cheerily. “Maybe played a bitch or something.”
Then she liked it enough to do the reading
(which had gotten online news article coverage such as this article on BroadwayWorld)
https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Luker-Led-New-Musical-TANGLED-WEBS-Holds-Reading-20081213
and all the demos from the show, such as
And I'll Seal It With a Kiss - sung by Rebecca Luker

I like it when BK is in the mood.
Before Ann and Jen left for Martha's Vineyard, Jen brought me some chicken she had poached. I put the chicken and liquid into a skillet, added frozen peas and carrots along with some egg noodles and let it cook while I fed Thatch and Stella. Then I added a bit of cornstarch to thicken the broth, and I had a very tasty dinner.

Listening to a Nazi era thriller called March Violets by Phillip Kerr. It's pretty good. It tries a little too hard to be hard-boiled, but I have laughed a few times.
"I heard all of her words in my fly."
It’s like BK said, you can’t lower your guard for a moment. I order some records at frankly absurdly low prices from a link George provided. Immediately after placing the order, my Spidey senses tingle. Why not before I placed the order? Well they very cleverly had a timer on my cart and I’d lose my “deals.”
I look up the Big Lots thing on the web and what comes up is a record discussion where people are saying that can’t be legit. The other thing that comes up are posts about people posting these fake Big Lots sales on the web and people getting ripped off.
Quickly I call my bank and close that card and they are sending me a new one. Ok, minimizing damage.
What do I get today? Two calls from my bank trying to verify info from me. Takes me a minute on the first one to get suspicious, but I hang up. Call bank and they say, well, it’s one of our numbers. No action is required by you.
Just get another call, this one less professional, could barely pronounce the bank name. Gets a little snippy with me. I call my actual bank fraud number, and this time they’re like, yeah, people do spoof our number. So now I don’t know if they have even more of my info.
Can’t damn win.
Wow, Rodz. Hope it’s all straightened out quickly.

Can you tell us which DR is going to win the $1.2 billion MegaMillions tonight?
From the Internet: Billy Wilder featured the song "Isn't it Romantic?" in many of his films, not because he liked the song, but because he got a good deal when he originally licensed it. Wilder said, "I'm cheap".
Some of Wilder's films that feature the song include: The Major and the Minor (1942), A Foreign Affair (1948), and Sabrina.

I read it wrong - I actually won the $2 prize! I wonder if will cost more than that to collect it from California.

Then I'm afraid I went down a very large rabbit hole that had to do with illustration art. Back around fourteen or fifteen years ago, I got a couple of home grown collector's guides from a guy who was doing them back then - one for Gene Pressler, as it had a painting I own in it, and one for Earl Christy, an artist I like. I never went back to his site, but after perusing the two tonight for the first time since I got them, I read that the guy had passed away and his son made PDFs of all twenty-six guides he'd done. So, I downloaded all of them and looked through each. They're invaluable.
