Good morning, all!
-
I did not watch the "Fat Orange Felon Fantasy Show" last night. I spend too much time vomiting these days without his help. Yesterday, after hearing Justin Trudeau's video plea to the FOF to dreop the tariffs and an interview with a Canadian mucky-muck talking about Canadianm retaliation, I decided that the FOF has no intentions of working to benefit the American people and that he is indeed working with another country to destroy the US. He only ran for president for revenge and to avoid the charges that came too late from Merrick Garland's office, only his MAGA NMorons are too stupid to realize that.
-
I slept poorly last night: not enough painkillers and the throbbing ball joiont of my right hip was completely out of control. Around 5:00, I turned off the alarm and decided to sleep as late as I could. At 6:30, Annabelle vomited all over the bed, and that got me out bed fast.
-
After doing laundry yesterday, I have no urge to go back down and launder the bedspread this morning. I hope I can clean it up. If not, I'll launder the bedclothes tomorrow.
-
:D
-
Question for Ask BK Day: BK, did you know when your music director signed on that he'd be missing this period during rehearsal?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Must stir for the morning assignment.
-
Notes drawn. Quartered.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Kind of a rocky sleep, especially toward morning, and three or four bizarre dreams that I think were separate but they were related to each other in some ways. They were pretty much based on familiar themes, but quite weird.
-
Dead tired this morning, and though I have things to do, I’m so glad I can just rest for a while.
-
Kitty cleanup is finished, and I cleaned Annabelle's vomit off the bedspread. I think I will wash it tomorrow.
-
Lots of rain all night....outside that is.
-
I hope DR singdaw is surviving the s**w.....

Very surprised that the ushers were not screened.
He has every reason to be extremely paranoid.

Look forward to hearing about the event, John G.
I expect that he will discuss his latest book, “Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder”.
-
John G, this sounds like a wonderful event!
Will you be attending the luncheon as well? Wondering what will be served.
Or is it a “literary” luncheon only?
The 2025 Book Appétit Literary Feast will take place March 5, 2025 (Tobin Center for the Performing Arts) and feature Salman Rushdie, author of Knife and Midnight’s Children.
The Book Festival’s singular fundraising event is the Book Appétit luncheon—a literary feast that kicks off the Festival. Featuring a prominent author(s), the Book Appétit luncheon offers guests a unique opportunity: a special presentation by the distinguished author. Past featured authors have included comedian Paula Poundstone, Pulitzer Prize winners Ron Chernow and Lawrence Wright, National Book Award winner James McBride, renowned poet Naomi Shihab Nye, bestselling author Ann Patchett, and acclaimed journalist Alfredo Corchado.

From DR Chas:
I have officially decided that I love pit work more than just about anything in my musical life. It's great to music-direct something you love now and then, and I am very grateful to have the privilege of doing so, but I love playing in pits with good musicians and could be happy doing ... just that, and be totally happy.
I hope that most of your future work is pit work.
-
DR Laura I'm glad you were pleased with the turnout.
-
Nice t-shirt DR John :)
-
DR Vixmom I am very sorry about your IRA portfolio, and for everyone else who is hurting :(
-
DR George I hope you get the help you need for the Projected expenses and income section.

But in the New York City of 2025, there's a whole mess of people who are willing to pay $1,000 and up per theater ticket, when the demand for the show is high - and that's even without food. I guess big-name concerts are getting those prices, too.
-
DR George I hope you get the help you need for the Projected expenses and income section.
Thanks, Jane. I did. I filled out what I could, then uploaded it to Google Sheets and sent that to everyone else on the board who all started working on it...and got me off the hook for the rest of it. It really did need to be a group effort. :)

Started a weird movie called Three Comrades. Based on an Erich Maria Remarque novel. Script cowritten by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Stars Robert Taylor, Margaret Sullavan, Franchot Tone and Robert Montgomery. Lyrics by Forrest and Wright. Nothing is naturalistic. The dialogue is both fake poetic and intriguing. It has a lost generation feel to it, but from a German perspective.
And for as odd as it all it, I am fascinated by it.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
I’m a sucker for a good melodrama, and Three Comrades filled the bill beautifully. Margaret Sullavan was just wonderful.
-
“Why don’t you study a blank page for a while and improve your mind “
Now that’s dialogue.
-
Good night, all.
-
“Why don’t you study a blank page for a while and improve your mind “
Now that’s dialogue.
That's funny! ;D

White. A blank page or canvas. The challenge. Bring order to the whole. Through design, composition, tension, balance, light, and harmony.

Back from an interesting rehearsal - it was helpful having Richard Allen there, but he had never even looked at the score and our MD's notes are either unreadable or not there at all. Still, it wasn't as loony as trying to time the tracks. Richard will be back on Sunday night for our designer run.
-
So, George disappears for two HOURS.
-
And therefore here we are, stuck in rut on page six.
-
To which I say nix.
-
I mean, it's ridix.
-
Something we need to fix.
-
Well, good, we got the page that shall not be named and yet was named into the mix.

The news: Consumers are participating in a one-day economic blackout today, one of several planned boycotts to protest businesses rolling back diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts after President Donald Trump threatened to target private companies with these programs.
Other planned actions include an Amazon boycott from March 7-14, a Nestlé boycott from March 21-28, a Walmart boycott from April 7-14, and another one-day blackout on April 18.

Still.

Always loved Margaret Sullivan.

Midnight approacheth.
-
Always like when dear reader Iris is here.
-
And Rodzinki.
-
We have a quorum on the forum.
-
Do they still make beanies?
-
I didn’t realize the boycotts are protesting only the rolling back of DEI initiatives, and not anti -Trump in general.
-
Does anyone still wear a beanie.
-
And noe for beanie.
-
Hello Iris, dearest!
-
Always like when dear reader Iris is here.
Thanks, bk! 😊
-
How can they not be anti-Trump since he is the one who threatened them.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
And hello BK, purist!
-
I've seen them.
-
Hello Iris, dearest!
Hello, charming Rodzinski!
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They call winter hats beanies in Canada.
-
How can they not be anti-Trump since he is the one who threatened them.
I just meant that I thought the protests were more than just about DEI.
-
Or toques.
-
I used to be charming. It was alarming how charming I'd feel
-
What am I, Maria all of a sudden?
-
Look at this little SURGE.
-
How can they not be anti-Trump since he is the one who threatened them.
I just meant that I thought the protests were more than just about DEI.
Right. Like general rage. Calling them about DEI seems a mistake.
-
A midnight special.
-
Enter page eight.
-
I had the urge to surge and we did.
-
Don’t purge the surge!
-
Maybe we could merge the surge?
-
When there's a surge there can be no dirge.
-
Lost power 4 times today.
-
Sarge, don’t parge the barge!
-
And let's not purge the surge.
-
Just came back on.
-
Now George appears!
-
So, I will attempt to go back to sleep.
Good night, all!
😴
-
He appears but does not post.
-
And let's not purge the surge.
Beat you to that one.
-
Good night and good power vibes, Iris!
-
Bad vibes to the evil Osiris!
-
It was fun to splurge on the surge.
-
I post but I do not appear.
