Well, you've read the notes, the notes were silent, and now it is time for you to post until the silent cows come home.

So, it turns out that I won't need to be back at ItW rehearsals until two weeks from today, when we have the first actual read-through. Since these first two weeks will only be music, I will otherwise have nothing to do during said music rehearsals, so I can stay away until the 21st...so I shall :)
-
And that will allow me to be at Thursday's performance of The HEAD!!! That Wouldn't DIE! without feeling guilty about missing the ItW rehearsal.

Now, to figure out my computer problem. :-\

Same as Keith.
-
Rodzinski I tried melatonin so many years ago I don't remember why it bothered me. Keith tried it and it didn't help. He does better with a white noise machine and I do better with Glycine.
-
Rodzinski I think we are having fun because we are on a good tour and not exploring on our own. Our view of the city was from the bus.
-
This morning we went to the gorgeous Alabaster Mosque.
-
Then we went to the oldest pyramid.
-
It was only 95 degrees when we left.
-
Keith is working on the photos for FB while we head back to the ship.
-
I was pleasantly surprised to find halvah at the breakfast buffet. It was creamier than what I am used to but still delicious.
-

Yay! That timing worked out well!

vixmom, that was such fun hearing about the F. Murray Abraham event last night!

Good morning, all!
-
Yesterday was a quiet day for the most part. Besides the usual kitty cleanup, I needed to chop up red and green peppers for pasta sauce and assemble the laundry from Sunday's bout of sickness. After dinner, I had a hellish time with the computer updates because it wouldn't accept the password, and no matter what I did to generate a new one, nothing worked. Curiously, this morning it all worked.
-
I have a lot of crap to cart to the basement this morning. I believe Jen is taking the package to the post office for me today, and I have that ready to go.
-
I'm putting off the laundry to tomorrow. I don't want to deal with that as well as all the trash going to the basement.
-
DR vixmom, your Amadeus adventure sounds wonderful. I've been a fan of F. Murray Abraham since I saw him on Broadway in McNally's The Ritz around 1975. He's a wonderful actor, and I'm sure he will be wonderful in his musical with Chenoweth. Unfortunately, at the Drama Book Shop he was an arrogant sonofabitch and I've been on the receiving end - for the record, I was right and he wasn't - and I'm not sure I'd want to play nice with him.

While getting material together for my book on the first quarter century (mixing parodies with stories), I found some old communications from a fellow who lives on the next block named John Ekizian, whom I dated in the 1980s and who was in Skip's BMI class around 1999-2000. I found a letter that John had claimed he sent to the police (the police had no record of getting the letter) which started by saying that I kept calling him in fall 2021 even though he had blocked my number, which of course made no sense, since how was I calling him if he had blocked me. But he also brought up some issues he claimed to have had about Skip in BMI class back in 1999-2000, even though we'd run into him on the street so many times over the two decades after that. And from what I can see from when John and I dated in the 1980s, it was a lovely time that just ended very amicably.
There are of course people who dislike me for some reason or other (some having to do with family money), but have no problem whatsoever with Skip. There are people who might dislike Skip (like some who had work issues or blame him for their not going on to the 3rd year at BMI), but have no issue whatsoever with me. There are only two people I know of in the entire world who have a dislike for both Skip and me, and John Ekizian is one of them. It's been very interesting looking back at this quarter century, but also perplexing. I wonder if I should just let the book be the parodies only and drop the narrative.

I believe it was Singdaw wondering about melatonin. Mrs Rodz takes it now and again, two chewy pills from a purple bottle. But I don’t think it helps her that much.

It stays a concern because he lives on the next block so of course uses the supermarket on our block, and he's yelled at us on the street a couple of times during the last few years.

Good morning.

Amazon Fresh has an open delivery slot for 1 to 3 pm today. That seems unusual. Wondering if people are using Amazon less in New York.
Does anyone know what the status is of people avoiding doing business with Amazon? Was it just a very brief "Blackout" day or week?

Off for Austin in a bit.
-
A dream I had early this a.m.:
I was on an airplane, in coach, in the window seat, when I noticed it was Ariana Grande, in the middle seat in front of us, chatting to people around her using German phrases. She was demonstrating how she used German now and then in music and movies. Robin de Jesus was seated next to me, and when Ariana turned around to include us in what she was saying, she resembled a very young Sissy Spacek.
The end.
-
DR John G., I think you said you don't much like Austin? Why is that?
(I haven't been to either Austin or San Antonio, just the Dallas area, which I like. But I always thought I'd like both of those.)
-
Yes, I thought Austin was supposed to be an especially fun, kooky, weird part of Texas. I know it’s grown like crazy. The Mrs was there for work last year and did not enjoy it.

DR RODZINSKI I agree with what you said about the Houston coach.
Every time they showed a closeup of his hideous face - I wanted to smash it into the hardwood.
It's a racket - there are no penalties. When the old fools get caught they just say they're sorry and spend 18 months or so in Puerto Rico - then back on the NCAA merry go round and they're back at another school - I'm looking at YOU Tom Izzo - one of the worst offenders.

It used to be fun, kooky and weird. Now it’s just corporatized.

I made it okay. The traffic was hellish as always. 20 minutes to go less than five miles for no reason.

You could write two books, with the narrative being just fictional enough that you're able to put out the pertinent story, but not so truthful that you could get sued.
Just a thought. ;)

Bill Finn's death was such a shock this morning! He was Goodspeed's Composer in Residence the summer of 1998 while I was working on Mirette and Redhead, and I thought he was a hoot. I liked him very much although I hated his Falsettos musicals, whichj I call AIDS For Dummies. His song "I'd Rather Be Sailing" is such a wonderful number, and I loved the Spelling Bee show.

I had the strangest experience this morning. I called Joshie, screwed up the number, redialed it, and I was talking to him when the secopnd line started ringing. I put him on hold, clicked on the second line, and there was no one there. So, I resumed talking to Joshie, and there was a knock at my door.
Come in! I yelled, thinking it was Jen coming for the post office package. Instead, a policewoman stuck her head in the door and asked if I were in trouble. I saiod I was fine, and she said, We got a phone call from you. The polioceman with her asked, is your number 212-3562-29xx? I said itwas, but I didn't call 911 or the precinct. The lady said she was glad I was okay, and they left after petting Stella, who was playing Welcome Wagon.

You could write two books, with the narrative being just fictional enough that you're able to put out the pertinent story, but not so truthful that you could get sued.
Just a thought. ;)
That's very helpful advice. I think the stories are only potentially interesting to potential readers (or to places to seek publicity) because of who the real people have been. So I've been careful that the stories not disparage anyone.
I think I'd know how to promote a book where the focus of publicizing the book is the parody lyrics, not really concerned that the book sell really well, but still use the book as tool for putting on a show. That's why I thought the best approach was to put parodies and stories in the same book. But you may have the better idea.

The lady said she was glad I was okay, and they left after petting Stella, who was playing Welcome Wagon.
Oh, my! Glad you're okay, Larry!

RIP - William Finn, 73
Bill Finn's death was such a shock this morning! He was Goodspeed's Composer in Residence the summer of 1998 while I was working on Mirette and Redhead, and I thought he was a hoot. I liked him much

Glad I could be (potentially) helpful! ;D

Millstone Alert - George, you're getting close to another impressive millstone. Could be today, or at least real soon.

It's very good to now have that in mind as a possibility.

Or maybe use the narrative you described as the basis for a musical. Liberties with real life are almost always seen as acceptable in musicals.

I have a friend who was working with Mr F. Murray Abraham. My friend asked him what the "F" stood for and he said: "Famous."
I don’t want to pile on ol’ F, but I knew a server at one of his favorite midtown haunts who said the “F” stood for “creep.”
-
Books have arrived, so guess I'll go pick 'em up.
-
Had farfalle with chicken, sundried tomatoes, peas, roasted garlic, and mushrooms from Cheesecake Factory.
-
LOL DR ROZINSKI.

Glad your computer is working DR GEORGE.

Leaving in the morning for sunny California!
Safe travels, Kevin!

I was sitting and reading something and conked out for an hour.

I'm sure I'll watch something.

Why shouldn't I?

I can.

Don't try and stop me, Horace!

Exhausted after Austin.

Listening to Jane Austen’s Bookcase, a fun look at the writers who influenced Jane. The list includes Frances Burney and Ann Radcliffe, both of whom I have read, and the Charlottes Smith and Lennox, whom I need to read.

Thanks for the heads-up, Freddie! But, definitely not happening today. :)

Thanks, Jrand! So am I!

Looking forward to receiving my book

Last night he said “F” was for his father , he said the name but I didn’t catch it, but it was a Syrian version of Frederick

I believe it was Singdaw wondering about melatonin. Mrs Rodz takes it now and again, two chewy pills from a purple bottle.
As long as it's not a green elixir.
-
Thanks for the advice on herbal supplements!

:)

Pretty much.

This is me.

Was taken out to dinner tonight at a different restaurant than last week.
-
Once again, I ordered meatloaf.
-
PAGE SIX
-
And once again, it was covered in french fried crispy onions.
-
But this time, only a few tablespoons instead of 2 cups worth.

Moderation is a good thing.

And also: this trend should be terminated immediately.

Let us hope this lunacy is just a trend.

What am I, Madame Armfeldt all of the sudden?
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Good night, Madame. Dream of your tiny Titian.
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, Laura.
-
Finally watched Choose Me tonight. Still had it. Noir, romance, drama and more smoking than I can remember in a movie.
-
Now starting a Great Courses series on DVD of Shakespeare tragedies. It’s long and the instructor is like a British Sandra Hüller. I liked the first lesson. But I feel it will be a long 12 hours. So I may skip to my favorites, such as King Lear and Macbeth.
-
Good night, all.

Page six.
-
Not very sporting.
-
In the least.
-
Or the most.
-
Ah, the page that shall not be named and yet is named.
-
Not very sporting.
-
Well, must write some damn notes right about now.
-
Notes are written.
-
They're consistent.
-
They have consistency.
-
That is a good thing.
-
Especially in this day and age.
-
I'll try to be in bed by one.
-
I'll do my best.
-
Nobody here but us chickens.
-
The cows and chickens are going to the dickens.
-
Can I get us off this damn page?
-
I suppose anything is possible.
-
But it's a long way to page eight.
-
It's somewhere over the rainbow.
-
Although, we are more than halfway there.
-
But with only a minute or two to go...
-
And even though I type pretty fast...
-
I'm just not sure.
-
But if we do get there - it'll be an entire page of ME.
-
Because George has gone the way of all fleshy things.
-
Almost
-
He is not here.
-
He is most likely there.
-
But not here.
-
Stick with it
-
One minute.
-
Could be.
-
At last
-
Enter page eight!
-
We dood it.
-
The Ocho
-
8 Murray Abraham
