DR vixmom, your Amadeus adventure sounds wonderful. I've been a fan of F. Murray Abraham since I saw him on Broadway in McNally's The Ritz around 1975. He's a wonderful actor, and I'm sure he will be wonderful in his musical with Chenoweth. Unfortunately, at the Drama Book Shop he was an arrogant sonofabitch and I've been on the receiving end - for the record, I was right and he wasn't - and I'm not sure I'd want to play nice with him.

He said something about after winning the Oscar he became overly impressed with himself and was a bit of an ass to his detriment and that he hopes he behaves better these days

Rodzinski I think we are having fun because we are on a good tour and not exploring on our own. Our view of the city was from the bus.

Glad you're having fun, Jane!  A friend of mine and his wife have the opposite opinion of traveling.  They LOVE to explore places without interference of a tour guide or a preset plan.

My friend is retired air force, so they literally just get on the next stand-by plane (for free because he's retired air force) and go where it takes them.

One time, they were expecting/hoping to go to Italy, but the next flight there wasn't for a few days, so they got on the next flight and it took them to Nova Scotia!  They had a fantastic time...and eventually did get to Italy. :D

And that will allow me to be at Thursday's performance of The HEAD!!! That Wouldn't DIE! without feeling guilty about missing the ItW rehearsal.

Yay!   That timing worked out well!

Yay is right!

I made it okay. The traffic was hellish as always. 20 minutes to go less than five miles for no reason.

Groan.

The tasting is at a place called Wanderlust Wine, which is Texas’s largest home of kegged wine.

Interesting.

Vibes your computer problem gets fixed easily!

Thanks, Freddie.  Either I looked around enough and clicked some box somewhere that fixed it, or it just magically fixed itself.  I don't care which.  I'm just glad that it's online-able again. ;)

They must pack light to be able to make quick decisions.

  • A person should celebrate what passes by.

While getting material together for my book on the first quarter century (mixing parodies with stories), I found some old communications from a fellow who lives on the next block named John Ekizian, whom I dated in the 1980s and who was in Skip's BMI class around 1999-2000.   I found a letter that John had claimed he sent to the police (the police had no record of getting the letter) which started by saying that I kept calling him in fall 2021 even though he had blocked my number, which of course made no sense, since how was I calling him if he had blocked me.  But he also brought up some issues he claimed to have had about Skip in BMI class back in 1999-2000, even though we'd run into him on the street so many times over the two decades after that.  And from what I can see from when John and I dated in the 1980s, it was a lovely time that just ended very amicably.

There are of course people who dislike me for some reason or other (some having to do with family money), but have no problem whatsoever with Skip.    There are people who might dislike Skip (like some who had work issues or blame him for their not going on to the 3rd year at BMI), but have no issue whatsoever with me.  There are only two people I know of in the entire world who have a dislike for both Skip and me, and John Ekizian is one of them.  It's been very interesting looking back at this quarter century, but also perplexing.   I wonder if I should just let the book be the parodies only and drop the narrative.

You could write two books, with the narrative being just fictional enough that you're able to put out the pertinent story, but not so truthful that you could get sued.

Just a thought. ;)

The air quality in Cairo is possibly the worst in the world. We are almost back to our ship in Alexandria and it looks just as ugly here.

Yikes! :o
