There were a lot of people at the lake/park today for the holiday.  It was around 70F and very sunny. And the place was completely packed.  The park was packed.  The huge grass area was packed. And the bike path/walking path around the lake were completely packed. Such a beautiful day!

Wow I loved what Derek did for his free dance on Dancing With the Stars tonight.  I often think that the free dance can win the season.  But I am pretty unclear who is going to win.

Back from hearing a song recital by Russian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky. It was truly wonderful!

(note: for this recital, he wore concert black)       :)

And now, for something completely different -

Cher sings the West Side Story quintet.  By herself.      :)

When I don't wish to be crowded and jostled on the subway, I just wear this...

A few years ago, I posted that the company I work for took away Internet access to all entertainment and social networking-type websites. (Those bastards!) Thus I've been very truant here. Since then, I've been trying to figure out a way to get around this obstacle. I finally started reading something about Time Warner Cable "hotspots". Then it took me several months to figure out if I could take advantage of this feature. I can! So, here I sit, about a block away from my office, outside under some trees, sitting on some type of utility grate, about a foot off the ground. The glare it terrible on my lap top! I definitely need some type of screen. Anyway, I'm here!

Nice to see Amy back.

My latest reviews of TARTUFFE at South Coast Repertory and 110 IN THE SHADE at Actors Co-Op are up on the Now Playing section of the website.

Back from our final dress of Abner.  As I sat there and watched our wonderful cast get themselves into real performance mode, and saw how the show looked in terms of sets and lighting and costumes, and hearing how much fun our new orchestrations are, I just thought, holy moley on rye it's taken twenty years for me to finally do my Abner and these folks are just so wonderful it simply gladdened my little heart large. Still one costume to get better, and a few band issues that were actually addressed as soon as we finished, but, like clockwork, the show ran exactly two hours. So, on to our one and only preview Tuesday night - if you haven't booked tickets what are you waiting for? You can PM me here or find our event page by typing in Li'l Abner in the search bar on Facebook - all details are there. Happy to say the wonderful Richard and Elizabeth Sherman are coming to opening night.

TOD: Off the top of my head:

Funny Girl, Mrs. Doubtfire, All About Eve, The Bad Seed, Shadow of a Doubt

Kevin, did you know that Barbra was not in four of those movies?

I wish that creepy Barbie photo was removed when "quoting" it to comment.

If I had removed the photo, nobody would know what I was commenting on.

I'd saved my chocolate peanut butter thing for when I got home and I just ate it - amazing, as always.

Besides, they're both on my Kindle and I have that with me all the time, so there's no special effort to "pick it up" again. :)

11/22/63 is on my Kindle, too.

I will be shocked if Meryl and Maks don't win the whole thing

We had Kay's husband, Michael Lamont, taking photos all night - so we should have some fantastic stuff to post in a day or two.  Also, Daisy Mae's new costume, which Maddy's mom made, is perfect.
