Tonight I will be staging - I can't call it choreography - "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat".  So vibes are appreciated.....  I have 18 people to move around the stage....fingers are crossed.

Have you finished the choreography for the Hourglass number?

DR Elmore, we went to the dollar theatre by Dayton Mall to see MONUMENTS MEN.  We liked it very much.

It's been about thirty years, but I had an absolutely incredible Amish/Mennonite meal in Lancaster County, PA.  What was the name of the place?  I'll think of it in a few minutes.  Anyway, you don't go there to lose weight.

From DR George:

You're right...I'll start tomorrow!

I prefer not to be reading a second book while my brain is still on the unfinished book.

I've usually avoided it, but I think I need a break from "Winter's Tale" anyway.  And I'm at a very good point to stop for awhile.

It's funny that you say that, George.  When I was reading 11/22/63, I was really enjoying it.  It seemed like the old Stephen King style.  When I got to the end of the first half, or whatever it was, I decided that I needed to put it down for awhile.  Sadly, I haven't had the urge to pick it up again.

That is why you shouldn't put a book down until you are done, unless you want to be done with it ;)

Without too much exaggeration, I'll use their web menu to simulate yer typical Amish meal:

Plain & Fancy's famous, made-from-scratch golden Fried Chicken
Lancaster County Grilled Ham Steak with Cider Sauce
    Grammy Lapp's Own Meatloaf
Traditional Pennsylvania Dutch Chicken Pot Pie ~ we hand-roll our own pot pie noodles!
Hot Turkey Sandwich and Turkey Platter
Hot Roast Beef Sandwich and Roast Beef Platter
    Lancaster's Best Turkey Croquettes
    Grilled Vegetables & Pasta
    Real Mashed Potatoes with gravy
    Egg Noodles with browned butter
    French Fries
    Plain & Fancy Bread Filling
    Shoepeg Corn
    Grilled Vegetables
    Baked Beans
    Vegetable of the Day
    Pepper Cabbage
    Chow Chow
    Applesauce
Shoo-Fly Pie ~ a gooey mixture of molasses, brown sugar, and spices
Plain & Fancy Apple Crumb Pie ~ made from our own secret recipe
    Fudge Brownie Deluxe
    Carrot Cake
Ice Cream ~ Vanilla, Chocolate, Sugar Free Vanilla, or Rainbow Sherbet

In my memory of that night, I had all of the above.    :)

The rain has been very nice to us today.  It waited until after we had a nice morning walk, and until after our afternoon trip to the dermatologist (just our yearly appointment).

Now I love watching it water everything.

That song was going through my head incessantly a few weeks ago. I do like the song, but enough is enough!

The worst tech I ever had didn't have a sense of humor either when I laughingly asked if she enjoyed torturing people.

the tech I had was a lovely young woman  and she kept apologizing  for hurting me and said she was sure the machine was invented by a man
I suggested that said man should be put in a similar machine for testing for testicular cancer and to leave him there until he  found another, less painful, method for the scan.

She laughed at that

Ditto. I was on a business trip and the owner of the business I was consulting for took me there for dinner. It was just wonderful. Don't recall the name of the restaurant. The business was in Wilkes-Barre and it was in that area.

A few years ago, I posted that the company I work for took away Internet access to all entertainment and social networking-type websites. (Those bastards!) Thus I've been very truant here. Since then, I've been trying to figure out a way to get around this obstacle. I finally started reading something about Time Warner Cable "hotspots". Then it took me several months to figure out if I could take advantage of this feature. I can! So, here I sit, about a block away from my office, outside under some trees, sitting on some type of utility grate, about a foot off the ground. The glare it terrible on my lap top! I definitely need some type of screen. Anyway, I'm here!

welcome back Amy!

I've only once not finished a book before...I started reading "My Cousin, My Gastroenterologist" (I got it from the library), but for some reason, I just couldn't finish it.  I have no memory of what it's about, but I don't plan to find out again.  I know I'll finish "Winter's Tale," so I'm not worried about it.

Had a great time  this weekend. Went to Tampa and Busch Gardens and rode most of roller coasters and saw a couple of shows.

We drove to Sarasota for dinner at an Amish restaurant. While our dinners were very good they were not spectacular.

Is Amish food supposed to be spectacular?

yes

Besides, they're both on my Kindle and I have that with me all the time, so there's no special effort to "pick it up" again. :)

Actually, thermography is supposed to be much better than mammography and I don't understand why it isn't being used more. I haven't had a thermogram, but I do know it's a small unit and does not compress the tissue. It's not just for breast imaging, either; there are whole-body thermograms. I asked last week if UCLA does thermograms. The answer was no, but that they have state-of-the-art mammography. Sigh. I've now found FOUR types of devices--some diagnostic, some therapeutic--that UCLA doesn't have. Some of these, like the K-laser, are not particularly expensive. Cost isn't the issue. I suspect that new technologies must meet some sort of "generally accepted" criteria.

Chas  when are you going to drive down to Lawn Guyland,  pick me up, and  drive me to Plain and Fancy?

It is the only fair thing to do now that you have dangled that wonderful menu in front of me

All this talk of Amish food is making me hungry. My dinner won't even come close, but I'm hungry and I shall eat something.
