~ ~ ~ EXTRA-STRENGTH GLOCKENSPIELS OF HEALTH ~ ~ ~ for DR Dan M!

Thank you DR singdaw!  How'd you know I like glockenspiels?!  That appeals to the German Lutheran half of me!  (The other half is Italian Catholic.)

German Lutheran good. You can ask Vixmom (I don't actually know the German part) or me (definitely both).

My Mom came to the USA from this small village:

Back from another grueling night of mixing and saving bad trumpets and trombones.  I think we did, though.

I'm and newbie and lurker but I have to post on this one!

LOVED Purim because of those funny triangle shaped Hamantaschen cookies, even though Grandma's were dry as dirt.  Canter's had yummy ones.  Kids could whoop it up in temple with gregors (noisemakers), shout and generally be very badly behaved.   LOVE/d Christmas for the syrupy songs and the Tree, and Easter for the painted eggs and strange gigantic rabbit.
Disliked Yom Kippur because services seemed endless, and what kid had sinned enough to warrant that?

The big decision I made this week is that I am going to move my office into my current library/conference room and make my current office the conference room.  Since Bob has been in the office we've noticed that sound travels in really weird ways.  I can hear him and he can hear me very very well. It's loud enough that it's a distraction.  And we've noticed that you can hear what we say in the lobby unless we keep our doors shut all the time.   SO, if I move to the conference room, I can't hear him and he can't hear me. Plus we are getting a door to put on the open doorway to the lobby.  My lease is up in January and if this doesn't work, we have a real problem staying in the space.   I really believe this will solve the problems. And I'll have a really cool office and the conference room will be a bright sunny place.  Win Win

Sounds like you thought of a great situation!  Congrats, Cillaliz!

I must go to sleep now.  I have to go to work early so that I can leave work early.  Tomorrow night, I'm ushering for a local production of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."  Everyone that I've talked to who has seen it, says it's wonderful...but very long.  It starts at 8:00 pm, but I'd heard that the second (of three) acts doesn't end until 10:30!  Then they have the second intermission, and THEN the third act.  Does that sound right?  I'd only seen the first two acts the only time that I'd gone to London.  We bought these on a whim that afternoon, but had tickets to something else, so we left "Cat" early to get to our other (planned) show.  That was in 2001, so I barely remember seeing the show.  I do remember that Brendan Fraser was gorgeous and that Ned Beatty as Big Daddy was incredible.  Frances O'Connor was Maggie, and she was very good, too.

It depends on which version they are using.

I didn't know that there were optionals.

Hi, Tom.  Guess what?  I'm going to be the Assistant Stage Manager for TAO's next production, "Chamber Music."  Christian Doyle is going to be the Stage Manager!

That should be fun.  Christian is great.
