The What If? DVD just did something very peculiar--it kept resetting to the beginning of "Something" after the end. For a minute I thought it was some kind of joke--that they were re-doing the song again, but I checked the time index and it reset from about 20 minutes back to 15. Two times in a row. I finally got it past that index by fast forwarding (at 8x--2x wouldn't work). Did DRs George and/or Ann experience this? I'll look for fingerprints later.

In the mail today I received my ticket for the concert by Illinois State University's Wind Symphony at Alice Tully Hall. They're going on tour in a couple of weeks and will finish with that event on Sunday, March 20 - isn't that a lovely coincidence? The conductor, Steve Steele, is my niece Laura's significant other, so Laura is flying in from Illinois and we'll spend time together Saturday and Sunday; she may try to get a ticket for Penny's show, even.

I watched it all the way through when I first got it and it was fine. Hopefully it's only fingerprints and not a scratch! Look carefully on both sides of the DVD. If there is a scratch and it looks like it's on the top (label) side, then it's not repairable. If a scratch is on the bottom side and you can feel it, it's more than likely also a gonner. If you can't feel it (a scratch on the bottom side), it might be repairable (I work at a library...I know these things.

Danise the original female lead on SLIDERS, Sabrina Loyd, is now one of the stars on NUMBE3S. She looks better today, as a blond, then she did on SLIDERS.

Bruce what shampoo did you get? I never did find one I really liked that I wasn’t allergic to.

I like the original GOODBYE GIRL as well....except for Quinn....but there you are. Marsha is always so charmingly neurotic without being TOO needy, and I think it is my favorite Richard Dreyfuss performance. His reaction in the dressing room after the hideous RICHARD III is all so familiar....we have all been there.

I can't get into the Oscar Spirit yet. Maybe it's because I haven't seen any of the movies and none of the nominees really excite me.

I am sure I would like some of the movies and have some people I would like to see win.....but 3 and 1/2 to 4 hours?!!!

Actually, "ordering" is fine, but even though we can (finally) do just about everything else that we used to do, everything has a series of "workaround" issues. We can do "that," but we have to do "this" and "this" and "this" first, THEN it will do "that." Again:

ENTERPRISE has to be among the most astounding network shows in high definition there is. That, along with CSI and LOST, rate at the top of the pile for their impressive visuals.

Glad that the story arc on ENTERPRISE was only a two-parter rather than a three part story.

TV GUIDE (or was it EW) had some interviews with some Oscar voters, and one of them was astounded that the Academy even found five worthy nominees. She thought it was a terrible year for movies.

I'll say this for Oscar predictions, there certainly doesn't seem to be a concensus this year. Guesses are all over the map this year, not helped by the fact that the critics/ awards, the Golden Globes, and the SAGs in many cases went to different actors, directors, and films.

As for my predictions, I think MILLION DOLLAR BABY is going to grab most of the important awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor.

I think (along with most everyone else) that Jamie Foxx will win for RAY and that Cate Blanchette will win for THE AVIATOR.

Screenplay awards will go to SIDEWAYS and ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND.

Just my guesses.
