Yes, TARANTULA! is long overdue. After we got THEM! from Warners, I was sure Universal would follow suit with TARANTULA! but no such luck.

CBS didn't waste any time between AMAZING RACE seasons! That must be the fastest turnaround in reality show history.

I also would love to have AT LONG LAST LOVE.

I'd also like TEN LITTLE INDIANS (with Hugh O'Brien) and TEN LITTLE INDIANS (with Richard Attenborough - deadly dull but I'd like to have them all). Well, the fourth version with Frank Stallone is so terrible that even I don't want it (though I have it on laserdisc and that's sufficient).

DR vixmom - Thanks for reminding me to take my Season of Savings Book with me when I head to NYC next week.

I'm also trying to line up a couple of "pit observations" while I'm in the city.  If you thought the show on stage was something, sometimes the show in the pit is ever moreso!

;)

Jose, don't forget to bring your Seasons of Savings book when you  come up here  to NYC!   ;D

Perhaps you should also get the Bollywood version of TEN LITTLE INDIANS...entitled GUMNAAM (1965). It is quite entertaining.

Is it directly based on AND THEN THERE WERE NONE or is it just similar to Christie's story?

Back from errands.  Trying to slog through a new section.  This was a last-minute idea, which I'm hoping is working.  As I started work on what I thought was going to be the next section, it suddenly occurred to me that I needed to do this other thing first.  I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me before, and I suppose after I finish that I might discard it, but it seemed to want it, so I'm doing it.  Is that a convoluted enough sentence for everyone?

And furthermore: PHANTASMAGORIA!

Yes, and ask BK and JRand54 about it also...they are the ones who originally steered me towards the film (which set off my Bollywood addiction!)...it has been mentioned in these here parts a few times!

You can order it from www.nehaflix.com or www.indiaweekly.com

My husband loves WW of W and I love the "Mars Needs".. just for the opening sequence where they repeat the title of the film four hundred times or so...

I shall have to find these DVD's fro DH for part of his "birthday box" any suggestions for online shopping for these particular goodies?

Hello All!

There are so many movies I would love to have on DVD including all of the ones already mentioned. (Penzance, Lil Abner, Flower Drum Song, Porgy, etc.) I jumped ahead to post this so I hope no one has mentioned it yet, but one movie I would really love to have on DVD is the 1936 version of Showboat. I enjoy it much more than the one made in the 50's though it is still enjoyable. I really just need to vamp up my movie musical collection, but as I am really just starting I need to have more patience.

Both films can be found on Amazon.com or Ebay very easily.

Tell DH that I am in the process ( a 3 year process so far) of tracking down and interviewing the cast members of WILD WOMAN OF WONGO....quite an interesting bunch of people!

Extra note: I have looked online for information to see if the 1936 Showboat has come, or is coming to DVD but I am getting mixed answers. Does anyone know if anything is actually in the works?

Gumnaam is briliant.  From its ripoff of Christie, to its ripoff of Mancini's Charade theme, to the great, great ten minute musical number (or is it longer???) that was partially used in the title sequence of Ghost World.  I may have to watch that again a little later.

I have to eat some tuna pasta salad now.  And cousin Alan's ever-lovin' Dee Dee stopped by this morning with a nice food surprise - this incredible appetizer thing she does on English muffins - some kind of crab, parmesan, onion thing.  I've been shamelessly after her for two or three months to make me a batch, and today I got the batch.  So, I shall have to eat that, too.

DRJoey, how could I have forgotten that film on my list!  I've been lucky to have SHOWBOAT a big part of my career in New York: the complete recording with John McGlinn, the Roders & Hammerstein rental edition of the Harold Prince revival, and an inventory of all SHOWBOAT materials at R&H.  The James Whale production is one of my favorite films.  Mea culpa!

We had a windows professionally cleaned and they look beautiful.  What didn’t look so great were the drippings left on our new rug in our bedroom.  Fortunately I was able to reach our carpet cleaner who told me what to do.  Forty-five minutes later the carpet looks much better.  I will have to wait and see if it stays that way.  It still needs to dry a bit and dirt spots on carpets have an odd way of reappearing for some reason.

I think I will go take a walk now.

Allow me to re-post my query from late last night...

I shall be in San Jose covering the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament from Friday to Monday, then I will drive down south and do the same for the Men's Tournament. I am hoping for WARMTH.

Just what is your line of work, Rodzinski?  Sounds like something I may just be envious of.  (Of course, being unemployed at the moment, I'm a bit envious of any occupation... :))

I am putting them together for a magazine article...I just need to get two or three more interviews down and then I am mostly done!

But if there is anyone in the cast he wants to know about feel free to ask!

Good Afternoon!

Done puttering around my parents' house for now, and I'm about to head out for a bit to run a few errands, and to hopefully catch up with my niece and nephew.

Some interesting and exciting news over at Playbill.com-

Christine Baranski in and as Mame at the Kennedy Center next season
http://www.playbill.com/news/article/91469.html

And the Helen Hayes - aka the DC Tony's - nominations were also announced today too

I don't know thathe has any particular favorites, but once we get the DVD things may change.  So far we have only been able to catch this in pieces on late night  TV cable channels!
