No, I tried getting into ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, but I just didn't key into it. I am looking forward to seeing the premiere of Kirsti Alley's new series FAT ACTRESS on Showtime tonight. I'm not a big fan of hers, but the show has gotten good reviews for the pilot, so I'm anxious to see it.

We had the same problem with ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.  I did watch one funny episode with my brother but when I returned home and we gave it another go, it was a no-go for us.

We don't get Showtime.

DR JRand it's not a real hamburger. :)

It's a toy that starts off very small and then grows in water.

The best part was listening to the 4 year old describe it.

Almost as funny as Saturday afternoon when his dad bought him a chocolate ice cream cone. I was watching this kid like a hawk.  But I must have looked away for a second.  And when I looked back his entire t-shirt was covered in chocolate.

I asked him what had happened (assuming some spilled in his shirt).  But it turned out (in his words) "well i had this moustache on my face, and it was bothering me, so i just wiped it".

Hmmm, basically he intentionally used his shirt as a napkin even though he had a napkin in his hand. :(

DR Jane, here the Kirstie Alley show is on the movie network (we don't have showtime).  Although I don't get the movie network either.  But I think my sis will be taping it (so I can watch it when she's done).

Jane, I'm very excited about our trip. Now that the tickets are squared away I'll begin looking into lodgings. I remember Thorntons well. It will be a treat to go at Christmas.

We may start a new tradition, Anthony and me. We had Indian food in London on Christmas day and perhaps we will have it again in Dublin. I am also looking for a good place to have high tea.

What a great description - I love it when EBAY sellers tell you what you need to know....and spend at least as many lines on the description as they do on their shipping and payment instructions.

Howdy, gang!

Okay - so all the little (and BIG) last minute details looking like they WILL fall into place (this last said with a thick, arrogant Cherman Agzent!) I have a question:

I went ahead and ordered posters. Now the trick will be to ge them actually POSTED. I am looking for a poster service, and have had no luck. I believe the folk who do this sort of thing are called "snipers" locally.

Anyone know whom to call? or how to find one???

Ben I hope the restaurant is still there.  It was a four star restaurant, very fancy with French wines.  We walked in and I was given a red rose-very, very nice.

So you know about Thornton’s.  :D I think their toffee is the best but I have developed a slight allergy to it.  I can only eat it when it is fresh.  I have no problem with their Mint Humbug’s.  It was in Dublin that I discovered them.

I got into a little donnybrook on RATM for deigning to suggest that "Arrested Development" tries too hard.  Though I did LOL watching Liza "with vertigo" attempt to walk down a street.

I am one of the eBay sellers who spends way more time on paying/shipping than descriptions.  Why?  Because an amazingly high percentage of buyers are evidently just literate enough to be able to bid, but are completely incapable of following precise, clear instructions on what to do after they win.

I'm on the Internet via AOL, although it's very slow going.  Maybe they'll get it together soon - oh, wait, this is AOL I'm talking about.

JMK - your items usually have pictures - or are so specialized a person bidding would know exactly what it is....a certain movie or a photo.

I saw something interesting on TV last weekend if you are interested.

I sell a lot of old DVDs, CDs and LPs on eBay that you've probably never paid attention to since they don't show up on searches for certain unnamed actresses.  :)  You would not believe how many people screw up in the payment process--it boggles my mind regularly.  You're right, though, about the more expensive memorabilia stuff--those are usually fairly well educated folk who actually understand they need to pay before I will ship the item (that may seem like a joke but it is sadly not).

Yes, of course, you must not pique my interest about tv and then not tell me what you saw.

Here is the description of the baseball direct from eBay:

You are bidding on a vintage leather Official League ball, signed by 8 members of the cast of 1959's "Lil Abner", and it's Director, Mel Frank. The movie is based on Al Capp's comic strip, and features many of the same cast from the Broadway show of the same name. The ball was signed at Dodger Stadium in 1959. The cast is headed by the late Stubby Kaye. The other signees are: Peter Palmer, Leslie Parrish, Howard St. John, Joe E. Marks, Bern Hoffman, Carmen Alverez, and Billie Hayes. Most of the actors have also added their character's name. The signatures are all boldly signed in blue inks, and the ball is very clean.

DR JMK on Saturday afternoon I was clicking through the channels.  There are a couple of locals on the Comcast system that I don't watch much....mostly it's classes for the local college.

But this guy was talking about Tallulah Bankhead and I stopped.  Then he started talking about Clowes Hall....all about the opening, etc.  Turns out he was some sort of manager or something and was telling stories about his years at Clowes....he was there from '63 when it opened until '69.

Well of course I was waiting for the woman to ask a question about you know who....but she never did.  He said he was writing a book, but I have never seen anything.  The copyright at the end of the show was 2003, but who knows.

Anyway I emailed the producer and asked her to forward my email to this guy to ask him if he was there on that fateful night.  If there is a book or if he gets back with me, I will let you know!
