Good Afternoon!

Back from the post office.  I ended up driving since I also had to run some other errands.  And I also fetched a late lunch/early dinner while I was out too.  Greek: a gyro, with fries and fried zucchini.  Good and filling.

Oh... And when I got back there was a message on my cell phone - I am playing Mamma Mia! tonight after all.  I guess it's a good thing that I decided NOT to go to head to the movie theatre while I was out earlier.  Especially since I had left my cell phone at home.

DR MBarnum - Are you hoping that June Kenney is Googling her name or something like that?

Or are you getting those crazy notions again?  -It's just a phase.

And is it Kenney or Kenny?  The posters have it both ways.

Crazy-making day - too much STUFF overloading my cranium.  Must now go back to Fed Ex for the second time and send something else, then to the bank, then finally back here to do some work I should have done this morning.

YIKES!

Just saw the pics of the big landslide in Laguna Beach!

First the West Side Highway, and now this.  I guess the US is just trying to even itself out.

According to Screen Actors Guild it is June Kenney...but sometimes she is credited as June Kenny....sometimes both ways in the same film, one way in the credits and one way on the publicity materials!

Yes, I keep hoping she or one of her relatives will google her name and find me!

In 1958's HOT CAR GIRL June gets involved with bad guy Richard Bakalyn in his car steeling activities...she even loses her virginity  :o

As you can see June was evidently "fired up for any thrill."

I have had days like that, too.

Y'mean, days when you haven't had all your wheels on the ground?

In TEENAGE DOLL, June loses her virginity...
I can just imagine the dialogue,

JUNE: Oh dear, I've just lost my virginity again!

GIRL GANG MEMBER: Maybe if you tied a bell around it, you wouldn't lose it so often!

June was best known for her sci-fi films, including this Bert I. Gordon spectacular (and one of my all time favorites) THE SPIDER (a.k.a EARTH VS THE SPIDER).

June and her boyfriend get trapped in a cave inhabited by a gigantic tarantula...eventually the big creature destroys the town and eats a few people.

June comes through unscathed, but she is a bit dirty and mussed up by the finale.
Comes through unscathed?  Her boyfriend couldn't grasp the Freudian imagry of that cave?  What a wussburger!

I do not believe Ellensburg even had an ice cream truck around when I was growing up.  Jed can correct me if I'm wrong, though.  So ice cream trucks were a rarity, and ice cream novelties were a store-bought item.  I have always been a HUGE fan of the ice cream sandwich and the creamsicle.  Back when I was a kid, I remember something called Push-Ups, related to DR George's Push-Ems.  They are still around, but not as I remember them.  I remember them filled with a strawberry sherbet that was light colored and delicious.  Now they are filled with a bright neon colored substance that claims to be blue raspberry or something.  The old kind used to be an after-church treat if my sister and I had behaved ourselves :)

I suppose that means you never got to taste one, eh, Ann?

Time Warner Cable and my Roadrunner service are dying.  I may be E&T quite a lot until I can get a better appointment than next f#$%^$ Tuesday afternoon!

My modem seems to be dying about every 15 minutes, then resuscitating itself after about an hour's wait.  During that time no cable power is getting into the piece of crap.  Color me highly pissed.

Danise, great idea on the pictures of the Muse.  I did see some on-line if I miss them.  I think I will be around tomorrow night, not sure.  If you don’t see me email they are posted and I will go look for them.  It is our anniversary but I think we are going to wait until the 2nd to celebrate.

Since it is much easier to get a house sitter than a pet sitter (much better price too as it is free), we are finally going to visit Keith’s mother.  I’m also looking forward to visiting with my brother.  We will take a little extra time for ourselves traveling there and back.

I have them ready to roll DR Jane.  They will be posted in the tech section until you tell me you’ve seen them then I promise to delete everything, BK.

Speaking of pictures, thank you, DR Rodzinski for the nice picture of Laura and I. Sure brings back memories of that wonderful night.  I do hope that you and the Gal and Dan (the Man) will be there the next time to share in all of the fun.

Dan you are so close to NY.  Will we see you in October?

I thought that October was a Gals' Night Out thing (not that that has stopped me before...)

Actually, it’s a Gal’s Day/Night Out With The Guys thing.  I am hoping everyone, who can, will come.  We had such a good time the last time out and that I am so looking forward to this.  All this and I’m going to see Michael Ball, too!  Wow!  If only Michael Crawford were in the area as well but you can’t have everything….

DR Ginny, Is your DN Laura able to come?  It would be nice to see her again.

I've been meaning to tell you all that our gas prices are down to $1.99/gallon.

DR Jose, About that car…………….   ;D

Welcome to new DR SteveO!!!!  Let's hear about YOU!

TOD
I don’t really care for ice cream.  I loved/love snow cones, sherbet and such.

DR MBarnum, I’m sorry but I don’t really remember ever seeing any of Ms. June Kennedy’s movies.  Sorry.

Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy Anniversary  to DR’s Jane and Keith! I can’t lie, envy you both!

And lastly, but never leastly, DR JRand.  I am so very sorry about Holly.  Words cannot express my sorrow at your loss.  Healing vibes to your heart.

June is National Dairy Month.

And June is National Soul Food Month.

And June is Also National Seafood Month.

Not to mention that June is National Candy Month, National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month, and National Iced Tea Month.

So don't let anyone catch you eating beef, because it isn't National Beef Month.

For those DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES fans here is an interesting tidbit.  James Denton (who plays the plumber) was on the View today.  He mentioned that the cast was waiting to find out (in june) which actors would be picked up for Season 2.

But he said something very interesting.  He mentioned that the cast had been surprised when they watched the finale.  Because there were a lot of scenes that they had expected to see, which were not included in the finale.  So basically they filmed a lot of stuff that they did not use.  So they will probably use some of it in the first few shows in September.  I guess that means that not everybody could be coming back.  Or we might see some exciting things in the first episodes.

Also, Meredith asked him if he was indeed Zach's father.  And he said that was how he saw it.  But he said that you never know, since apparently Deirdre was having an affair with someone else (i forget if he said the police detective or someone else).

Yikes, that's a scary thing to read as I have RR as well.  I love it.  It's a bit expensive but I can't imagine ever going back to dial up.
