I'm moments away from having to have an unpleasant phone conversation.  Oh, it won't be unpleasant for me, but it WILL be unpleasant for the person on the other end of the line.  After that, I shall be in fine fettle.

Thanks for the museum photos DR's LAURA & SANDRA.  Now I want to go - but except to just a museum that don't allow no kids in to get in my way and stand in front of stuff and talk real loud and stuff like that, ya know?

That's kinda how I feel about Disneyland, JRand.

Jane: The air here is smokey. The wildfire is now at 30,000 acres. I think I posted pictures of the same area during the spring. I think they said on the morning news there are 20 wildfires around Arizona.

I have been at the church thus far today, opening and closing doors and windows to check the security system, labeling wires, picking up rocks, and other assorted tasks.

Jane, of course I would be sad.  But, that is an extreme case.   I'm talking about airplanes and why it hasn't once, in my over three decades of flying, ever been a problem, let alone been mentioned?

I know you would be sad.  People are now speaking up more than risk getting sick and chances are the person on your flight was extra sensitive to peanuts.  I’m always surprised airlines still serve peanuts at all.

Sturm und drang at I'LL BE BACK BEFORE MIDNIGHT - turns out our set is impossible to light and paint.  Who would have thunk such a thing?  And so the people I asked in MARCH to help me but they couldnt' commit to the project are now telling me it has to be redone.  Cousin Brad the set builder is NOT happy - and I am not so excited myself.

So there will be drama AGAIN today - offstage.  Oh well.

And even though we are firing a 12 gauge shotgun filled with blanks TWICE during the show, have a strobe light, three people end up dead including one with a hatchet in his back, a dug-up dead body hanging in the doorway. AND incest - I am sure we will get a letter from someone complaining because someone lit a cigarette onstage.

Oh, now I remember that play!  It was done here locally a few years ago.  I didn't recognize the name, but when you mentioned the dug-up body hanging in the doorway THEN I remembered it.

Mmmmm, cookies. I've been eating chocolate-covered Nutter Butters. I highly recommend them.

Fig Newtons, I do not like.

The end.

I’m trying not to get too involved in today’s topic or I will eat too many cookies and other goodies.  My plan is to loose a pound or two before my almond macaroons arrive.   :D

Not sure I will succeed since I’m indulging in half an egg bagel with a little butter on it.

HALF??  You're concerned about HALF a bagel with a LITTLE butter on it??  I really don't think that that's much of a concern...at all! ;)

Good Evening!

Greetings from Richmond!

The drive down was relatively uneventful.  I did end up driving behind a truck hauling garbage, some very odoriferous garbage!, for a few miles, but we evetually got out of each other way so to speak.  I started feeling a little headachey about halfway through my drive, and then I realized I hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast this morning.  I guess I got carried away with my cleaning.  So, as soon as I hit Richmond, I stopped into Ukrop's and picked up a Chicken Tenders Meal for my late-late-lunch/dinner.  And I got some corn pudding and collard greens for my sides!  Yummy!

-Oh, and a slice of yellow cake with chocolate frosting for dessert.

So, now I'm back at Steve's, I've had my dinner, and just watching some TV.

-Boy does Prime Time TV really suck!  :-\

DR Jane - Today ended up being sort of a bust for me.  So...  Expect the macaroons next week.  Sorry.

-But in the meantime, enjoy another cup of ice cream!

John Reardon had some terrific voice!

MattH's post clarified my memory: I believe I first heard him on that On The Town recording!

He's also done some singing on some Ben Bagley's recordings!

But Jean-Jacques Bakery here in Richmond does make them too!  So... Maybe you'll be able to do a comparison!

On CD Baby we've been asked to give some examples who Guy Haines sounds like, i.e. a comparison to another singer.  I hate that stuff, but they like to do it.  Who would be your choices?  Broadway names preferred, as that's our audience, but any ideas would be appreciated.

My first thought for a comparison BK is Tony Perkins.

I can hear GH singing "Moonlight Swim" and "Prettiest Girl In School". Perkins did some lovely recordings for Ben Bagley. (and of course the OC for "Greenwillow").
