...And one final comment about Splash Bar New York...
Splash was one of the first "bars" in New York that I ever went too some 15-17 years ago. *I was grandfathered in under the Legal Age Drinking laws - I could order beer being under 21, but no hard liquor.
Back then, it was a place where men went to watch men. In showers that were behind the bar area. Yes, men in showers in a bar.
They remodeled the place a couple of years ago. A multi-millon dollar renovation and expansion. It was amazing walking in there last night and not recognizing it at all. And the showers were gone. There is still entertainment there, but it's not as "blatant" as it used to be. For better or worse.
However, the thing that I liked the most about my return visit there last night was that it was now a No Smoking zone - like the rest of NYC. Ah... So nice to come home from a bar NOT smelling like a pack of Marlboro's.
*The "upshot" of the smoking ban, however, has made it easier to find where the bars are in town. Just look for wherever a group of people are outside on the sidewalk... smoking.

OH! And in true musical-theatre queen fashion... As soon as the musical theatre clips stopped, the crowd began to clear out pretty fast. -Even though the "entertainment" had begun to start on the "pedestals". -Although, it was a work/school night, so that could have had something to do with it too.
