The forest cover started getting thick again, and I really wasn't sure where I was heading.  Then suddenly, I came to a clearing and saw this:

I was now in the big pasture that covers one side of the hill.  A little further down the path, I saw this...

In the above pic, the buildings toward the foreground are part of The Clark.  The "turret" in the middle of the pic belongs to one of the churches Williamstown.  And I believe the "hills" in the background are considered part of the Greylock.

And then further "off" in the picture... Well, that's Vermont.

After my trek, I headed back to campus.  When I came to the intersection of Routes 2 and 7, I saw this...

I guess if I kept walking...

Poutine!

DR Cillaliz, I actually love reading canoe and reading about the live feeds more than i like watching the show.  It's like a whole secret part of the show, that only some of us are privy too.

Anyhow I had to tape tonight's show because I was caught up in watching Veronica Mars (friday's episode). Even though the CBS show from friday is one ahead of where i'm at, I actually think that the story continued very nicely from the last episode i saw (sometimes they skip a week when continuing stories).

After I had completed my trek, I decided to walk over to Spring Street to get some dinner.  I had been craving Indian food for the past few days, so I settled in at Spice Root.  I had a very good meal.  My only "quibble" was that my Lamb Vindaloo was not as vindaloo-ish as I'm used to.  Vindaloos usually pack quite a punch not only from the chile peppers and spices, but also a distinct bite from vinegar.  The food was hot, but not "hot hot" - at least to my palate.  But, nevertheless, I did enjoy my food.

A group of Indians came in shortly after me, and one of them ordered the Lamb Vindaloo too.  I tried to hang out until their orders came to their table to gauge their "response", but, alas, I needed to get my dessert... Ice cream!

So, it was back down the street to Lickety Split.  Tonight's selection: a half-cup of Malted Vanilla, and a half-cup of Strawberry.  Both very good.

On the way in to the ice cream shop, I noticed this sign placed outside...

-I guess the girls at the counter are fans of "The O.C."

He's currently up here for Bus Stop.  They open next week.

And for my final pic of the day...

The small(!), independent movie theatre here in Williamstown sponsors an "Acoustic Alley" series.  Tonight's guest was cellist, Trevor Exter.  And, man, could this guy rock!  And, yes, with a cello!  He basically treated it like a big guitar, even strumming chords at times.  I only hung out for a couple of songs, but he did some originals as well as some covers.  A very cool way to spend a few minutes... while finishing my ice cream.

I just finished watching "It Happened at the World's Fair" with Elvis.  It was filmed in Seattle during the 1962 Seattle World's Fair and I'd never seen it before.  I didn't see the first half hour, but it was very easy to figure out what it was all about.  Evidently CMT is having an Elvis marathon.  "Viva Las Vega" just started.

What I find most interesting about these movies is not the actors/actresses or the stories, but that the cities have changed so much since they were filmed.

What a lovely walk you had today, Jose. Thanks for the pictures!

You're most welcome!

I really am glad I decided to venture out on my own today.  I needed the "by myself" time - especially after yesterday's very long day.  And since we're about to go into tech heck...  The peace and quiet was good.  -It really was cool walking through the forest all alone.

I was also very happy that the weather had cleared up and that the temps had dropped too.  When I first headed out, the sky was very gray, and I was expecting rain.  But when I reached the top of the trail, most of the sky had cleared, and there was just a bit of haze in the distance.  A nice summer day.

And Allen would likely have considered me the bother as he was a teenager when I was a kid! LOL!
