Never saw THE LAST TIME I SAW ARCHIE....but I remember the ads in the newspapers....the "A" in Archie was a sergeant's stripe with feet, and so I didn't realize it was a letter, and kept thinking the movie was called THE LAST TIME I SAW RCHIE.

Oh, and I have (strangely) stumped Michael Lavine more than once with what I thought were fairly easy requests. And I, too, have some stuff he doesn't. We should do a TOD of weird and wonderful scores/sheet music we have. I have rehearsal scores from both (count 'em) versions of Chu Chem, believe it or don't. And the truly weird thing is, I can't for the life of me recall how I ended up with them. I also have a bunch of McDermot's handwritten scores from Via Galactica, which, again, I have absolutely no memory of acquiring.

After completing JUDGEMENT AT NUREMBERG today, I then went to the special features. The Abby Mann-Maximilian Schell lovefest got a bit too congratulatory for me. A little better was Stanley Kramer's widow reminiscence about her husband.

Would rather have had a making-of documentary feature about the extraordinary cast and how they were able to get so many famous faces lined up for this monumental film. Perhaps it's talked about in the running commentary, but after taking two days to watch the movioe, I didn't feel like starting it over to listen to a commentary. Maybe another day.

I remember in the Monty Clift bios how poor his health was at that point (NUREMBERG). He had a difficult time with his speech, getting all the lines out, although his health contributed to the performance. He and Judy Garland were kindred spirits on the set.

Good Afternoon!

I just ended up walking into "town" - basically down Rt. 2. About and mile and a half each way. I stopped into the Moonlight Diner for a late afternoon breakfast - corned beef hash and eggs - my usual 'test' breakfast for a diner. It was good, not great. And priced about a $1.00 more than it should have been.

And now the clouds have moved in and it smells like rain... So... I'm thinking a nap might be in order.

My father just called; it loks like I'll be heading back to Ohio sometime around Sept 21 and returning sometime after Sept 27.

I missed NICK AND NORA; I was out of town with a show, and it closed too quickly. I hear it was worse than ASPECTS OF LOVE, which is hard to believe.
