The Muppet Show was cool that way. Great guest hosts who weren't necessarily the hottest young actors on the scene like they would do today.

I know a lot of folks who only know who Ethel Merman is because of that show. I don't think I ever saw Harry Nilsson any other place. And some off-the-wall British comedians and such, as the show was taped there and they sometimes had to get people from nearby.

DR FJL: I've never worked for a business that gave bonuses. I've never worked anywhere where I had paid vacations. The bonus we got yesterday was based directly on the amount of "extra" stuff we sold over the year. At the end of August last year, the bonus was $2500 after taxes. The spring incentive bonus was $750, which is the lowest that anyone could recall receiving. Yesterday's was $225. I was counting on that money as a cushion so I could quit this job and go back to temping so I could have some free time to get back to auditions so I could actually do what I moved here to do. I can barely afford to walk to the subway with $225. So now I'm stuck here even longer.

At least I didn't go out and buy round trip air tickets to Paris like one of the other guys in the office did. I feel really badly for him...

Nope, I do think that as the show progressed Henson refined the puppets with the exception of Kermit. Miss Piggy got a snout job and had more luxurious hair. Fozzy Bear and Ralph the dog got more expressive eyes. But even as primitive as Henson's Muppets were back during the Ed Sullivan days, they were still the most lively of performers.

"Take Off With Us" from ALL THAT JAZZ. The way he takes what looks to the layman like a perfectly good musical number and just rips it apart and recreates it as a transcendental piece. That's just Fosse showing us why he's Fosse and we're not.

I may be alone, but I LOVE the psychedelic Sammy Davis Jr. number in SWEET CHARITY. It is absolutely nuts.

I don't mean to sound whiny or bitchy about money that I normally wouldn't have anyway. I'm just HORRIBLY disappointed and the prospects of working here any longer than I have to makes me feel even worse. We asked if raises were a possiblity this year - even enough just to allow for inflation - and they told us that they wouldn't consider raises until at least next fall. I'd like to know how they think someone can survive on $1400/mo in New York City...

No one is alone, DR Rodz. "Rhythm of Life" is a favorite of mine, as well.

A Fosse number I like in Dancin' was the "Crunchy Granola Suite". It's a shame it was so badly done on the Fosse video. In fact, everything was badly done in the Fosse video.

As I don't seem to know from these choreographers (I know who most of them are, just am not familiar enough with their work...particularly on the stage) I will name my favorite choreographers instead.

Olga Suarez: she choreographed the frantic dance of the Wongo women in THE WILD WOMEN OF WONGO.

K. H. Kapadia: choreographed with wild, masked, shaking head dance in GUMNAAM.

Whoever choreographed the Zombie Stomp number in HORROR OF PARTY BEACH is a genius!

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!

Well, I got my eight hours of sleep...plus a little extra. Unfortunately, some of that "extra" was just trying to sleep with all the noise from the street early this morning. my dorm room basically looks out onto the main "intersection" here in Williamstown - where Routes 2 and 7 cross. -And it's more like a rotary. Well, I guess since all the truckers were making their deliveries in time for the weekend, there was just a lot of traffic noise starting around 5:00am. I think I just tossed and turned for about two hours - and I was just too tired to go ahead and close my windows to see if that would help muffle the noise. -And, and apparently, there were a bunch of people running the stoplight this morning too - I heard that police siren way too many times.

Heck, it's quieter in New York City!!!!

...But I'm up.
