Actually last show aired in 1969.

The did a latter version in 1988/9

Partial list of Guests:

I'm not quite able to picture Agnus Moorehead bantering with Tom and Dick.  Maybe they just segued directly into her number:

"Ladies and gentlemen, singing "Fool On The Hill", here's Agnus Moorehead!"

I saw a couple of nice photos of Jennifer Warnes with Mason Williams.

Looks like CDs won't be ready until late today, which means I won't get them until tomorrow morning.  There is a chance some of them could be ready today, but we'll just have to see.

The local reviews I saw for TWO GENTLEMEN were mixed to negative, perhaps to atone for its beating out FOLLIES for a Tony.  In the show's defence, I have to say that most of the current critics would kill OKLAHOMA! if it opened today.

I, too, loved Red Skelton and THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS.  My  friend Louisa Flaningam, whom I first saw  in the national tour of COMPANY singing "Another Hundred People," has nothing but hostile memories working with The Brothers in I LOVE MY WIFE.

Well, we'd like some of those hostile memories - tell Louise to give us the dirt.

I remember seeing the Smothers Brothers in ILMW, but could swear that it was either Janie Sell (Trese) or Barbara Sharma, and Virginia Sandifur playing the wives.  Did the Brothers (and Miss Flaningam) do the national company as well?

(Speaking of Miss Flaningam, I did see her do BALLROOM at the Marriott Lincolnshire.  It was a nice performance, quite different from the original -- which I adored -- but the disco number was FABULOUS!)

Actually DRDtM - I think Agnes' BIG number was always "Show Me the Way to Go Home" sung with the Cannonball Quartet.  ;D

Maybe this will bring JMK out of the weeds:

Quote
This may come as a surprise to those of you not living in Las Vegas but there are more Catholic churches there than casinos. Not surprisingly,
some worshippers at Sunday services will give casino chips rather than cash when the basket is passed.

Since they get chips from so many different casinos, the churches have devised a method to collect the offerings.

The churches send all their collected chips to a nearby Franciscan Monastery for sorting and then the chips are taken to the casinos of origin and cashed in.

Of course, this is done by a chip monk.

Ah yes, a simpler era. When a man named "Snooky" could be a TV star! (And Liberace was every American Mom's idea of the perfect son.)

And just how many ways can you stage "How Much Is That Doggie In the Window"?

Oh dear

Quote
NEW YORK -- Fats Domino was missing Thursday, days after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, said his longtime agent, Al Embry.

Embry told The Associated Press that he hadn't been able to contact Domino since talking to him Sunday evening by phone.

The 77-year-old R&B legend, whose real name is Antoine Domino, told Embry that he planned to stay at his New Orleans house with his wife, Rosemary, and their daughter.

"I hope somebody turns him up, but as of right now, we haven't got anybody that knows where he's at," said Embry, who has worked with Domino for 28 years. "I would think he might be safe because somebody said he was on top of the balcony."

Checquoline Davis, Domino's niece, posted a message on Craigslist.com Thursday pleading for information. Davis wrote that Domino, his wife, their children and grandchildren "didn't get out" of the second floor.

Domino, who has rarely appeared in public in recent years, has a home in the 9th ward, a low-lying area of the flooded city.

Getting information on possible missing persons has been nearly impossible as phone lines for hospitals and police haven't been working.

Domino has sold more than 110 million records in his long career, including the legendary singles "Blueberry Hill" and "Ain't That a Shame."

His 1950 recording of "The Fat Man" is sometimes called the first real rock 'n' roll record. He was among the first honorees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

My grandmother always used to marvel when she saw him play "on the teevee"

"How does he make such beautiful music with such stubby fingers?"

In an effort to become slim, svelte and beautiful before the October HHW meet I have purchased a sleeve of Quaker Chocolate Crunch Rice Cakes as an alternate to an afternoon snack.... I should have saved the $2.19 and simply eaten the styrofoam that came in my last delivery

YUCK
